Sorry, I had already started consuming the asparagus before I snapped a picture!

Finally decided to try this new to Moneta restaurant after hearing all the good reviews...they did not disappoint! We shared the golden beet salad for an appetizer...absolutely delicious! Even splitting one (waitress recommended) they were still huge! I had the filet and hubby had the ribeye...cooked to perfection and extremely tasty! I dislike when a chef over seasons steak, this was seasoned perfectly, allowing the flavor of the steak to come through. We did not get dessert as we were too full! The drink special For the night was a chunky monkey...thought I'd give it a try. I was halfway through my drink when the bartender sent another one as he had forgotten to put kahlua in! Must say I didn't miss it, but both drinks were delicious! The decor in the place is wonderful, they've done a superb job of brightening up the place and bringing into current times! Just lovely! We will be back Bull Docks, and we'll be sure to ask for Heather, our amazing server, again!!

Black and blue steak with asparagus, broccoli, and Brussels sprouts.

Excellent ribeye and phenomenal homemade cheesecake. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of food. Even the asparagus and broccoli was perfectly cooked. Not too raw and not too overcooked. I am pretty picky about my veggies. The steak was so flavorful with the blue cheese. I got the red wine butter; my spouse opted for the garlic butter. Both were exceptionally good. The homemade cheesecake and peach cobbler stole the show. Not at all. sickly sweet-just perfect. The cheesecake achieved perfect creamy vanilla flavor. Well done Bill Docks and a shout out to our most attentive waitress, Gracie. The ice tea was consistently filled and delicious. We are ready to float away! We will be back!!!!

    The owner, Pam

Steak entrees were excellent: cooked as requested. The big…read moredisappointment was that the lamb option was not available as part of the restaurant-week menu, and there was no substitute of equal quality and substance offered. (Many people do not eat pork, the only RW alternative to steak.) The butternut squash soup was like puréed baby food: not like soup. The server was very pleasant. The ambiance is quite plain: a little decorative effort would be worthwhile as the food is quite good. The atmosphere should be more special to be in-line with prices & quality. I would go back!

I usually get a lot of recommendations from coworkers, friends, and family to try new places but no one had mentioned this place to me. I think a lot of that has to do with the location. It is tucked away in the corner of an extremely busy shopping center that includes the Alamo. There are lots of food options near them but somehow they have managed to stand out. The service here is top notch and should come as no surprise since it is family run. It has feeling of getting a home cooked meal from Venezuela. It's as advertised. The food is exceptional and really matches the prices reflected on the menu. The picanha was tender and well seasoned. I will be coming back and trying more of this menu. Could not recommend more

This well-regarded, upscale steakhouse, received The Roanoker Magazine's 2025 Platinum Award for Best Steakhouse in Roanoke City, and is considered a premier dining destination in the area, offering a high-end experience with a focus on quality cuts of meat and a sophisticated atmosphere, though at a higher price point. I made a reservation through the Open Table app for this Wednesday at 5:00pm, dining opening time, for table 85, which was the table I sat at the last time I dined there. This is one of only two tables next to a window in the back of the restaurant. I invite you to view the photographs accompanying my last review, when it was still light out, to see the window view I had from there. When I arrived, a friendly young lady greeted me and looked up for my reservation at the Host's station computer. She then took my coat, hanged it up and gave me a ticket for it. There was a beautiful waiting area with hunter green leather furniture, in front of an elegant designed bar. When my table was ready, she led me to my table. Soon after, my server Logan, another friendly and hospitable young lady, introduced herself and explained the menu and special of the day. To drink, I ordered a Strawberry Mockito Mocktail. For appetizer, I ordered the Seared Sea Scallops with a Parmesan Cognac Sauce. And as my main entrée, I combined a Live Maine Baked Lobster with a Certified Angus 14oz Beef Filet, cooked medium-rare, with an Idaho Baked Potato and Sautéed Mushrooms as sides. The Strawberry Mockito Mocktail tasted just right. Every bite of the scallops in that sauce was an absolute delight. Expensive, but priceless at the same time! The succulent lobster meat, all out of the shell, came with a little bowl of warm butter for dipping. The Filet was cooked perfectly medium-rare, with a warm, red center, as requested. No wonder this place is famous for the quality of its meats and cooking method. For the Grand Finale of my meal, I had a Bread Pudding made with Krispy Kreme donuts, accompanied by a scoop of vanilla ice-cream. All the servers worked as a team, and came by to fill my glass with iced water.as soon as it was half empty. My server also came by at the right times to see how I was doing and check to see if I needed anything. Even with the restaurant full with several large groups dining there, the Restaurant Manager, John Catron, came by my table to say hello and chat with me for a while. This restaurant has class, providing an exceptional dining experience, like no other.

First off, I asked for no cheese on my eggs for the steak and eggs, a $52 dish. I was told "no "substitutions". It's not a substitution, I asked that they leave cheese off. Nope, not possible. Instead I opted for the "churro French toast", which was bland, soggy French toast without any churro flavor, accompanied by either pre-cooked or microwaved bacon. Hardly worth $34. The waitress clearly didn't want to be there - complete lack of personality, bordering on a poor attitude. What should have been a nice brunch for the two moms in attendance was done in 45 minutes. This place needs to stick to dinner because clearly brunch is not in their wheelhouse. The restaurant itself is nice and in a great area, and the bar looks like it would be a great spot for drinks and appetizers, but I'm not sure I would go back.

After hearing about The Farmhouse Restaurant located in Christiansburg, Virginia, and seeing a…read morephoto of it, I was intrigued by its appearance and intererested in finding out more information about it. So I did my research and found out that it opened its doors in 1963 in a 19th-century autentic farmhouse which once belonged to the Ridinger family. It has had several owners and managers throughout its history. Roger Neel and Neal Keesee, owners of Billy's and Cornbeef and Co. in Roanoke, purchased the restaurant and reopened it in 2016. Kevin Murphy was the general manager in 1996. Devin Whittaker is currently listed as the General Manager. The restaurant has been a long-standing establishment in the New River Valley, known for its beef dishes. Currently its menu has been expanded to include a nice selection of seafood items as well. Additions to the original house include several banquet rooms, a bar, an outdoor dining area that can be used year round, and a caboose annex. After being awarded the Triad Yelper of the Year 2024 Award at the Yelpies Award Ceremony last year, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, I decided that this year, as an All-Star Yelp Elite, I not only wanted to be the first to discover new restaurants and bring them to the attention of the public, but also to uncover those found in hidden paths that for one reason or another have not reached the public in its totality. And The Farm House in Christiansburg, Virginia, is the perfect example. So one day I made a reservation through Open Table and set out enthusiastically in my new car to go explore what it was all about. After driving in the highway through a nasty rain and thunder storm, the rain finally stopped as I arrived there and was parking in their nice size parking lot. The decor inside was rustic yet very cozy, with many booths inside small spaces, and a couple of very elegant dining rooms nicely set-up and decorated with one of a kind framed Virginia Tech Football memorabilia. It also contained a beautiful award winning wine cellar and exclusive bourbon room. The restaurant was divided into two sides with alleyways where the individual enclosed booths were located and each alleyway had a street name so one could find their way back if they had to leave to use the restroom. The left side was decorated with antique farm items and old photographs and the right side with beautiful colorful paintings by Rochthilde. The caboose annex is located on that side. When I arrived a friendly young lady hostess greeted and welcomed me and after confirming my reservation took me to my booth which was located in Hokie Hwy. You can see the location in my photo of their map. Soon after, my server greeted me and took my order. I started off with a Mojito Mocktail to drink. Their Crispy Fried Calamari as appetizer. Followed by a Caesar Salad. And as the main entrée I had their famous Prime Rib medium rare with the Grilled Shrimp enhancement and the two sides being a Loaded Baked Potato and a Special Corn which was the side of the day. The meal also included these special rolls with butter, which clearly pointed out the exquisite nature of the cuisine of this magnificent restaurant. At this time, I took a brief escape to go visit the bar area and there I happened to have met the Restaurant Manager who gave me a warm welcome and thanked me for having traveled all this way for the pleasure of dining at his restaurant. I found my way back and all the food was amazingly delicious. I invite you to take a look at my photographs accompanying this review. The Prime Rib one of the best I've ever had. Comparable only to Billy's in Downtown Roanoke. My server came by at the appropriate times to check on me and did an excellent job. The Restaurant Manager also came by a couple of times to see if I was enjoying my dinner and if all was to my satisfaction. It was nice to learn that he lived down in Cave Spring, my neck of the woods, and where one of my best and favorite restaurants is located, The OTH Chophouse. For the Grand Finale of what had been an amazing cuisine and an extraordinary dining experience, I had a slice of their Peanut Butter Pie for dessert. It too was amazing. To conclude I highly recommend this restaurant for those special occasions when you want to enjoy a fine dining experience in a very unique and historic restaurant, in a comfortable ambiance, with an amazing culinary masterpieces, and excellent service.

It was a pleasant experience, rustic look, casual--we had only been there one time before We had a shrimp appetizer, it was fantastic, huge shrimp, recommend asking for extra O'Bay spices if you order this. Then, we had a surf and turf with baked potato, steak was excellent (tender, good flavor), crab cake was acceptable but could have been better (estimate 6.5 out of 10). I ordered a seafood trio with salmon, crab cake, and crab legs. Crab Legs came with one cluster of snow crabs (they were not warm by the time I got to them and had been dried out (maybe overcooked?) and I would score them about a 4.5 on a score of 1-10). The amazing part of the meal was the Brussel Sprouts (wow, so tasty). salmon was ok, small portion, and cole slow was good. So it may sound as if I am critical of some of the food, but overall I say it was a great experience.
