The steak was very very good and the bacon appetizer is worth getting just for the variety of flavors. They also have a good and fresh salad bar for you to make your own salad. I'd never heard of this place until I was invite to dinner! It was tucked away in boonsboro with plenty of parking! The dress is casual despite the prices. I had reservations but the only thing available was a high top in the bar area,which was fine with us. Service was pretty good, very lax. The bacon appetizer was so fun! The chipotle peach, bourbon, and espresso were our favorites. The black pepper one tasted more salty than anything and the BBQ one I liked but my friend didn't. We ordered the ribeye , it came with a trip to the salad bar and two sides. I added mushrooms and onions to mine. Our server suggested a gin drink that had olive oil and vanilla. Fleming Mountain Grill is a very good restaurant. What's good: quality and quantity of food, service. What's not optimal: atmosphere, bathrooms and salad bar cross contamination. Service is very attentive. Wait staff / servers are quick to seat you, get your initial drinks, take your alcohol and appetizer order. Items are at your table quick and correct. Food wise, food was very good, good quality and quantity and hot when it arrived to our table. Appetizers were very good. The steak was good but pricey. We paid roughly $60 for a 1-inch cut and $80 for 1.5 inch cut. The cut was good, but didn't melt in my mouth. Good but I think it's a bit pricey for the quality and quantity. Other platters were good and everyone in our party was happy with their selection. Drinks are ok. Wine selection was ok. Limited selection of better selection. Bathrooms were out of soap. Trash was full. Salad additives were cross contaminated with other items. If you have food allergies, cross check items. Atmosphere was bland. More of a midwestern supper club atmosphere. Not bad, just different than what I expected. I recommend Fleming Mountain Grill. Just know you're going to pay a high price for a nice steak. read more

We love Fleming Mountain! We come here quite often and it never disappoints. The steaks are always wonderful! One of the coolest parts is that they cut the ribeye tableside, and the staff gives you a little background on the different cuts, which makes the experience feel extra special. The salad bar that comes with your entrée is also great -- always fresh with plenty of variety. The staff here is excellent -- friendly, attentive, and professional. The owner/manager often comes by the table to personally thank you for dining, which adds such a nice personal touch. I came here on a Saturday night with a group of girl friends and we had a blast! The atmosphere was so warm and welcoming, with a saxophonist playing in the dining room. The sweet melodies were paired with some good food and drinks. We had a variety of meals around the table, including the 6oz Angus Filet Mignon which came with a side of Brussels and the Salad Bar and Mitchell's Original Fried Chicken which was ordered with mashed potatoes and brown gravy and the salad bar. Both of these meals received great reviews of freshness, tastiness, and were cooked as ordered. Others at the table had the Grilled Salmon with the orange glaze, the appetizer Crab Stuffed Shrimp with a side of fries, and the Chicken Florentine, which were all said to be excellent in taste. We started with some wine and dirty martinis, both good. Kicked off the meal with scallops and their famous bacon sampler. We enjoyed the appetizers and liked the espresso bacon the best. Entrees included the small filet and a ribeye both with steamed broccoli. Broccoli was a little over cooked. The ribeye is sliced table-side and you choose the size you want. The "meat-master" was funny and we enjoyed his presentation. We opted for a trip around the old school salad bar, which was simple and nice. Steaks were very good. Only complaint would be that I added blue cheese crumbles to the top and it was covered, too much for me. Prices were in-line for what we received. The service was great, everyone was so nice and I loved the "meat master" coming by the table showing the cut of meat and telling the story. We went to this restaurant for the first time. Known for their steaks, we both ordered 8 oz and 12 oz rib-eyes (included a potato, street corn, and salad bar). Cut to order and market price. That should have been our clue. We had a $30 bottle of wine and the bill with tip included was $170! Suffice it to say, this weekend was meant to be special--an understatement of epic proportions. After an exhaustive and careful selection process, I decided upon Fleming Mountain Grill, expecting an evening of exceptional cuisine and service. How tragically misguided that choice turned out to be. What followed was nothing short of a culinary disaster, marred by unfulfilled promises, incompetence, and profound disappointment. Let me begin by stating that our server, the one beacon of light in an otherwise dismal experience, was nothing less than courteous, attentive, and kind throughout the entire ordeal. The blame for this debacle lies entirely elsewhere. The appetizers were brought promptly and were indeed delectable, we loved the duck wantons and the bacon. The cocktails were another highlight, crafted with care and precision, and for those at least, we got exactly what we paid for. But oh, how swiftly the evening took a nosedive when the main courses arrived. Fleming Mountain Grill's entire draw is their so-called illustrious 1929 ribeye, paraded in front of you with great fanfare before being meticulously carved tableside. You select your desired size, and they supposedly prepare it to your specification. In theory, this sounds like a steak lover's dream. In practice, it was a nightmare of bait-and-switch proportions. Out of five ribeyes, not a single one was correct--*not one*. They were neither cooked as requested, plated properly, nor even the steaks we had chosen. What was presented to us bore no resemblance to the glorious cuts we had been shown mere moments earlier. The marbling, the size, the very essence of what we had selected had all vanished, replaced by inferior cuts that I suspect were hastily swapped in behind the scenes. Charging by the ounce for a premium product means you should ensure the customer receives exactly what they selected. Instead, we were served an insult--both to our wallets and our palates. And the chaos didn't end there. Plates arrived jumbled, sides were either missing, cold, or simply wrong. The entire kitchen appeared to be in a state of frantic disarray, incapable of delivering even a single correct order to the table. For a restaurant that so blatantly markets itself as fine dining, this was amateur hour. After sending plates back and forth with no resolution, we ultimately resigned ourselves to consuming whatever disorganized scraps were placed in front of us, defeated, hungry, and utterly infuriated. As a final slap in the face, I personally asked the man who had carved my steak whether the atrocity on my plate was indeed the one he had cut for me. His reluctant admission? "Not even close." So here we are, five out of seven orders completely botched, with the restaurant's half-hearted attempt at atonement being a meager 20% off the bill. A paltry gesture, given that nearly every plate was an exercise in confusion and incompetence--sides arriving halfway through, dishes swapped, and even those that were supposed to be identical looked drastically different from one another. To anyone considering Fleming Mountain Grill for a special occasion: *don't*. Under no circumstances should you entrust this establishment with your cherished memories. We paid our bill and left, but rest assured, we will not forget the catastrophe that was our evening--nor the absolute farce of a dining experience we endured. read more

Had reservations for Monday night. We were seated immediately when we arrived. The room had tables well spaced with a fireplace at one end. No one felt like they were sitting on top of one another. Waitress greeted us warmly, handed out drink, appetizer, and entree menus. Returned shortly to take our drink orders. We ordered our drinks and the thick-cut glazed butchers bacon. Oh man, was that good! It was presented hanging on a rack with shears to cut pieces off. I'm old as dirt and have never seen that before. We ordered our entrees. My wife ordered the salmon, daughter the pork chops, and I ordered the ribeye. The butcher brought out a slab of ribeye and described the source and meat. I showed him my preferred thickness and he made the cut, and weighed it on his potable scales. The steak was cooked to perfection, seasoned, but not too salty. My wife enjoyed her salmon and my daughter liked her pork chops, even though they were just a little dry due to the thickness. Management came by to check on us and thanked us for coming. I've been to Fleming Mountain many times since it's opened. The staff has always been attentive and kind. They have a good selection of bar drinks and I personally always enjoy a mule when I'm there. The steaks are the star of the show here no doubt, but the supporting options shouldn't be left out. I love the salad bar here. I would come for the salad bar alone. And the best news is it's unlimited with the purchase of your entree. The fried chicken should be mentioned too. I've gotten it on several occasions and it's always crispy and flavorful.
