Food was tasty. Fries were double fried so they were extra crispy. Had the patty melt. Nice sauce. Texas toast would have ramped it up a bit. But regular toast it was still good. Split the order with a family member. So it was filling with just half the order. Ambiance was like an old Western saloon. You bus your own bus tables and order your own food by ordering from the kitchen. Drinks from the bar. If it was busy it would have been a pain but since we were early for lunch no issue. Now if you're wanting a yahoo of a tasty lunch go down to the Bull O' the Woods Saloon and get a bite a swig! read more

A cool atmosphere, but the food was very mediocre and extremely overpriced. There are no servers so they ask you to buss your table after paying $17 for a single patty "hamburger" I've been visiting Red River for the past 6 years and this was the first place I've eaten at that I regretted. It's bar food that will cost you $20 per person. It may be a good place if you're just looking for a bar. read more

We ended up here because Red River Brewery had an 1.5 wait. Several other places were closing or closed at 2:00pm. We got here just before a huge rush. The bartender is slow and not able to handle a small rush. The food was satisfactory but way overpriced. Chips are pretty mediocre. The Queso is thin but better than nothing. Burger is good. Wedge salad has excellent blue cheese dressing and crumbles with bacon. It's overpriced but good. I definitely would not be in a rush to return. I would rather try the other places in town. If you're starving, you can stop in, otherwise find something else to eat. read more

Extremely slow service both to get a drink and then ordering food. It took 25 minutes for an order of chicken wings. I stood in line over 15 minutes to pay my bar bill. Food and drink taste good but I didn'tt have any time to sit with my partner because I was always standing in lines. They need more staff and or improved processes. My husband and I sauntered into Bull O' the Woods for just a beer and ended up having a great time. It was a Wednesday night, so not much going on which suits us. We were very surprised to see the great beer selection including many IPAs, or beer of choice. The bartender was very helpful and personable. So the place it self has a lot of potential, Very spacious and a nice bar set up. Now here comes my main issue, a fight that broke out in the outside patio area. There was no security guards present. The group had about six people involved with the fight, arguing, cussing making threats to each other and oddly enough had knives on their persons!!! Considering we're at a bike run hosted by this community, most bars do not allow weapons inside with knives for security reasons. Second problem was with the bartenders it's pretty evident they have no experience, they were very rude, we actually got cussed at because, bartender became frustrated after we asked for a round of shots for the second time. We complained to management, they basically ignored the complaint by politely brushing it off! I've noticed since our past pandemic quality of service has really lacked in most establishments in this country, and I think we as patrons need to start really think about these establishments we give our business to. read more

Frustrating place. You have to stand in one line and pay to order food. Then another line to order and pay for drinks. Definitely not a family thing. Tried it once. Won't do it again. Some friends of mine and I were in Angel Fire for the weekend. It being the slow season not many things are open so we drove to Red River both Saturday and Sunday. Had a wonderful time at this cute little bar. Great selection of beer and great bartender. Will definitely be back the next time we are in town! read more

I had dinner and a couple of drinks at this place. The food was some of the best that I had in Red River. The pulled pork nachos were very tasty. I could tell the pulled pork was smoked nicely. It was tender and had a great flavor. My girlfriend had the chicken tenders and they were crispy, hot and tender. The fries could have been a little more fresh. I liked ordering directly at the kitchen for food and bar for drinks. Both had good service and I would eat here again. Overall, I got what I expected from this place! The Bloody Mary is definitely the best drink here - I loved the additional goodies in the glass - pickled okra, olives and peppers. I came during happy hour, and the female bartender initially tried to charge the full price of mine and my husband's beverages. My husband asks "isn't it happy hour?" And she responds with "oh yeah. $5 each" Each beverage during happy hour is $4. Not sure if she's just not knowledgeable about where she works, or if she tries to deceive travelers? Either way, I get that $1 isn't a big deal but trying to get one over on someone is. The pool tables are well kept and so much fun, and same with the shuffleboard! read more

Absolutely the worst service ever. I am from Arkansas and have a vertical ID, which is NORMAL IN ARKANSAS IF YOURE 21 because IDS last for 8 years. They literally accepted 2 of my friends VERTICAL ids but not mine??? I'm just confused as to why they would do that? If I can fly with my ID I should be able to get into a bar as a 21 year old. What a great saloon in the little mountain town of Red River, NM. This place seems to have the best craft beer selection in town and a great vibe to go along with it. Bikers, locals, and boujie tourists alike can kick back and have a drink--the place also has a full service bar and a decent kitchen. I definitely recommend the fish tacos. Probably best quick thing I've eaten in the town. You can find pool, shuffleboard, cornhole, and live music at this joint. A must-stop if you're in Red River for sure. read more

Stopped in town on Father's Day and this was the 4th place we went to ( others were either closed or out of food), you order at one station and get drinks from another, it's an odd setup which prompted 4 's. If you're using a card then it's used at those two stations..... I will say FOOD WAS AWESOME! I had a quesadilla, and group had burgers and sister had chicken enchiladas .. We've been visiting for years, but this visit stood out because the new bathrooms are amazing with their hammered copper sinks and creative camouflage of the pipes to look like aspen trees! Okay, the usual stuff - the beer is cold, and there's a great selection! The chile cheese fries were exceptional, the fish tacos were DELICIOUS, the cheeseburger was actually the best in town, the bartenders are attentive and engaging - and yeah, you might have to bus your own table and walk over to the bar to order a drink, but good grief, get off your ass....it's worth it!! Haven't been out after dark in a few years, but no one ever complains about the live music and dancing on weekends, so if you're so inclined, polish up your boots and boogie! 25th Anniversary Crew Loves You!! read more
