Great food and service. The bread with whipped butter and garlic is a must!!! The food was all well made and elevated. It was awkward eating a meal on a couch/coffee table, but we picked the seating, and could have opted for a more formal table at the downstairs restaurant. The place is nice had to sit at the bar but that was fine bartenders were great and attentive. My wife loved her 5 spice chicken. This place has been the surprise dining experience of my time in NM. I mean, the menu read like a typical steakhouse with a few creative twists but nothing that eluded to what was to come. I didn't make a reservation so we went up to the bar and grabbed a seats. I was pleasantly surprised that we had options for the bar menu and the full menu. They weren't big so the expanded options were nice. The bar is lounge like with couches and chairs with low tables. If you plan to eat anything more than finger food you have a couple of options, the bar, or a long bar height table. We ordered almost everything on the small plate menu and some of the appetizers. The surprise of the trip was the food was spectacular. We ordered second rounds and then dessert just to try more. Presentation was excellent, the service in the bar was off the charts good as well. I have a couple more days here in town and may end up here every evening! read more

Came here last minute for dinner after our previous plan fell through. Despite it being an extraordinarily busy night, we were able to find a seat right away! The food was so incredible, probably the best chicken dish I've ever eaten and the homemade pasta was the perfect texture. The drinks were well crafted and a perfect addition. This place is neat! It's within walking distance from the Historic Taos Inn, it has a formal dining room downstairs and a bar and lounge area up stairs. It seemed casual however and the decor and ambiance of the place seemed modern yet rustic. We headed upstairs and arranged the armchairs and side tables around so our group could mingle. Our server Megan greeted us, and even helped bring side tables over to accommodate us, she was great! We came late - maybe 45 minutes before the kitchen closed, however we were not rushed at all! We started with the olives and the cheese board- OUTSTANDING. We then ordered the Filet Mignon. WOW! It was delectable- the meat was delicious, the garlic mashed potatoes with crispy onions, and the delicious mole sauce all came together to make the perfect entre. I ate every bite. The service from Megan was top notch - she took care of our large group attentively and offered amazing customer service. Definitely try this place if you're in Taos. read more

We went out for a birthday dinner and it was our first time in the dining room. We've been to the bar at Lambert's but not formally in the restaurant. Our server was amazing - super friendly and attentive (but not overly so) and the food was pretty darn great! My steak was cooked perfectly (which almost never happens anymore) and the wine was wonderful. Overall, Lambert's (The Treehouse) is going to be one of our favorites! read more

We stumbled across Lambert's/Treehouse Bar after a long 12+ hours of travel to Taos. All we wanted as weary travelers was good bite to eat and a decent drink. This place far exceeded both! We opted to sit at the downstairs bar and had the green chile stew (a perfect start to our NM visit!), the braised beef relleno, and the brussel sprouts- all were delicious. Brian, the bartender made EXCELLENT margaritas that hit the spot so perfectly we returned the following night knowing he would be working at the upstairs bar. Not only did he provide great service and drinks, he was awesome at giving us insight to sights to visit while touring the state which was so incredibly appreciated! On my 2nd day in Taos, I was a little under the weather, so I was craving a hot noodle soup dish. I love the Southwestern cuisine of New Mexico, but I was really in need of some hot broth to soothe my tummy. After a lengthy online search. I found the ramen dish on the Treehouse Bar menu. Oh my, it totally hit the spot. It is some of the most delicious ramen I have ever had. The soba noodles were perfectly firm, the broth was delicious, the pork was tender, and the soft-boiled egg was perfectly cooked and rich. Everything about the ramen was absolutely perfect. I'm going to be fantasizing about the Treehouse ramen for a while. My only disappointment was that they didn't have the brussel sprouts. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! The Treehouse bar & grill is upstairs Lambert's. It's all in the same house, however, Lambert's is only open for Lunch & Dinner downstairs & the Treehouse bar & grill upstairs is only open for their happy hour. Hubby & I wanted to go to Lambert's for lunch but we spent too much time exploring the Colorado Mountain towns & got there too late for lunch. So, we opted for the Treehouse upstairs for happy hour & made reservations for dinner at Lambert's downstairs later on in the evening. The happy hour was simply amazballs. We ordered the fresh made chips & guac, and margaritas they were all freshly made to our request & presented beautifully. We had a couple rounds they were so YUMMY. Our waitress was a complete doll too so we decided to hang out for a while. Then we ordered the warm olives from the happy hour menu. The warm olives are sautéed in garlic, fresh herbs & olive oil served with warm pink peppercorn goat cheese on top. Excellent. They also came with fresh baked Parma crackers. They were so delicious! WOW. I would go back just for the warm olives & fresh baked Parma crackers. Dinner, later on that night at Lambert's was even more spectacular but that is another review ;) Hubby loved the warm olives so much he still hasn't stopped talking about them. In fact we haven't stopped talking about the happy hour or the dinner downstairs at Lambert's. Hubby has even requested his Birthday in a couple weeks be here he liked it so much. And that is perfectly fine with me bc I think l love this place more than him if that is possible. Lol Our fave place in Taos by far. See you in a couple weeks for hubby's birthday! This review is for drinks only but we really enjoyed visiting the Treehouse. It was super busy so we were glad to get there early and to grab a seat. My husband got a margarita (Don Julio Silver) and I had a negroni. Both were prepared to perfection and the person waiting on us was friendly and gracious. It got even more busy while we were there and we had a dinner rez elsewhere so didn't stay a long time but the place has a great vibe. There was a good variety of people in the comfortable lounge; a couple of singles, couples, small groups, etc.. It felt quite welcoming. If we go back, I will likely make a reservation at Lamberts (downstairs) for dinner. read more

Wow third strike, I just don't get how this place gets good ratings. We've tried three different times to get a drink and have walked out. We live in Taos, we love the food at Lamberts. We know that this place has amazing potential, but it just fails!!! Party of 4, we walked into the Treehouse, it was packed and seating is first come, first served. It looked full, but a party of four was packing up so we were lucky enough to get this table! So happy that we did. The coin margs were tasty! We ordered deviled eggs with smoked trout as an appetizer and they were delish! The trout was not overpowering and worked really well with the jalapenos and other ingredients. I ordered the lobster risotto which included lump crab, wild prawns, shiitake mushrooms and other ingredients was utterly amazing! I recommend getting the risotto. This place is way overpriced with tiny portions. We spent $50+ per person and had to hit a different restaurant immediately after we left to get full. The crab cakes were $32 and I got two cakes the size of silver dollars. This is obviously a tourist trap. Don't trust the $$ on Yelp. We won't be back! read more

We got there at 2:20pm, was told the restaurant closes at 2:30pm, but we're happy to serve us. Food had a beautiful flavor,. But I would give 5 stars if they were generous servings. The trout was beautiful, thin, small servings but full of flavor. Your server was lovely, very real and friendly. There were two slices of grilled apple, a price of grilled lettuce, and the trout that I will say was not generous. I would recommend this location if your not really too hungry, but want a light lunch. Oh, great Margarita's!!!!! My photo looks good but the fish is very thin. I have since been told trout is a thin fish....maybe I might try something else next time as I would go back considering this new info on trout. I hate giving 4 stars, but I really think that the boutique style servings, as pretty as they look, I want to walk out like i had a filling lunch. OMG. I had the brisket sandwich, and I still dream of this sandwich a few months later. I was driving through Taos and saw the restaurant near where I parked my car to walk around. I walked in, and for a moment figured I had made a mistake. A very upscale restaurant was what I walked into, but was told there was a bar upstairs. I jumped on getting away from the white tablecloths and headed upstairs. A much more casual place welcomed me. I read about a brisket sandwich that wouldn't be offered until 5pm. I had about 15 minutes, and I was hungry. I almost thought about going somewhere else, and I am so thankful I didn't. I had to wait about 20 more minutes after finally being able to order at 5pm, and I got a little cranky. GIVE ME FOOD. Then it came out, and I took one bite of almost heaven. It was sweet and tangy, and had high-quality ingredients. Yum! None of the other food I had in New Mexico even compared. read more

I've been to the Treehouse Bar several times on other trips to town. I was specifically looking for their mussels. This time, the menu didn't show them. When I asked about them, I was told they were seasonal and didn't make the cut this year...Boo Hoo...LOL I ordered something else and my usual vodka martini. The barkeep was good, quick and informative. The food was as good as the mussels had been in previous, so it was a good as I expected. Awesome!!! This place is great. Happy hour includes a margarita, $3 beers, and two of the best happy hour wines I've ever had (a Tempranillo for the red, and a Chardonnay-Viogner for the white). They have a great small bites list also, but you should share any of the appetizers with someone else. Smoked trout deviled eggs are amazing, truffle fries are to die for.
