Come hungry! The bone in prime rib is HUGE! See my picture. You really should share this with someone in ny opinion if you want to relax at night. LOL Baked potato was perfectly done with crispy skin. I ate the New York steak, was perfectly cooked, don't think it was aged, but good nonetheless. Not sure if it was Kauai beef or not. I spent $200 cash on 2 buffet dinners. We had a 5pm reservation. We came for a special birthday celebration for my Auntie. The Entrance Receptionist needs to be trained to smile when she greets your customers. Customer Service 101. The poke ran out before I could get seconds, poke never was refilled at all. Also, the cheesecake ran out, there were no refills brought out for this item either. With only soft serve ice cream and cookies. Where's the cheesecake? Why wasn't your back up host/hostess on it? Replenishing what was running out? Yet, no refills were brought out. Smdh! Buffet price $75 per person in definitely not worth it, unless you are only going to eat prime rib and crab. The entrees could use a more paniolo type theme. Fried chicken, Garlic mashed potatoes, Kalua pig, more poke and poi. This is Hawaii. Where's da fish and poi? I was very disappointed with much less selections then previous owners buffets. The music was great. Roseanne was our waitress. Let me tell you, she is an asset to your business. We really liked our server Terri (*) she was very knowledgeable and shared some fun facts about herself like what she grows and how she makes pickles and we really enjoyed her stopping by our table to chat. Considering we went on Valentines night with no reservation (you cannot make one with less than 6 people) our estimated wait time was an hour, we were pleasantly surprised to be seated and eating within that hour. We sat far from the live music which allowed us to enjoy the sound of the ocean and the restaurant was actually quite casual for what we expected as a "steak house" my husband enjoyed the catch of the day that was well priced and I LOVED my steak kabobs, but I loved more that I could upgrade to a baked potato. Ocean can be rough in that part of Kauai so you can hear the waves crashing. Hostess, server, bus boy were all great. Their house-made bread is awesome. Bits of onion on top baked into the tender crust. Inside, the bread is fine textured, soft, and yummy. Loved it. Drinks were ok. Hubby and I both ordered their prime rib, no bone (you can also get with bone). It was a pretty big and thick cut and nicely seasoned on the out side. Meat could have been a little more tender but it was deliciously seasoned and good. Really tasty au jus, and also served with creamy horseradish. All in all a great meal worth the drive. This establishment has been here for years, hope they're here next time we come to Kauai because they are worth returning to. We arrived at 5:30 and were seated quickly. When Er left a little after 6:30 there was a30 minute wait. (No reservations unless you have a party of 6 or more.) someone was coming in with sound equipment so I guess the have live music, too. We tried this place again after many years. I ordered the same prime rib as last time. It was good but not as good as I remember. My wife ordered the ahi tuna which she was disappointed with. It was thin compared to all the other restaurants that serve ahi, and there are a lot of great ahi dishes on the island. Drinks tasted pretty weak. She was sweet and talked about the marine life that have been around lately. We got there at happy hour and were given a window seat right next to the water. It's about bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside. The windows were open. We were able to hear the waves. Okay first off, Aunty at the bar is a beast!! She be working 30+ years at that restaurant as a server and bartender and she just get um!! She know how for take care!! Now the place is in a hotel, but it's cute. Not so fancy but it's Kaua'i, so deal with it haha but the food tho...winnah!! We both ordered the prime rib and it was huge. We also got the potato skins as an appetizer but we didn't finish as we were full. The potato skins were a little on the burnt side. The prime rib was good, but could've used a little more seasoning or rub, but with salt it was better. Again, this thing is huge so come hungry. The waiters were good until it got busier so it's understandable. The parking stalls are rather small so come early if you want good parking. The Bull Shed returns to its glory days! It looks like the place has gone through just a bit of a makeover. Food, service, live dinner music: All excellent! Prices are reasonable for the quality and servings. Rose was our server and she kept coming back to make sure we had everything we needed. Even the young man who bussed our table had a great service attitude. I had the prime rib and it was a perfect medium rare. Very tender yet beefy as it should be. My wife had the beef kabob and she enjoyed it. We shared a Lapperts Kauai pie for dessert and it was perfect as well. I highly recommend. read more
