Server Cody was fantastic! I hope that was his name. It's been 2 months since my visit and I am still tempering how much I enjoyed it. He was the Chillest guy on the island. I had an incredible birthday dinner dining here by myself at sunset. The filet was cooked perfectly. Cody even said he would let me take my bottle of wine "to go" if I wasn't able to finish it. He doesn't know me, though LOL. Complimentary dessert for my birthday. THE BREAD AND SMOKED SALT BUTTER were phenomenal. Definitely get this. We went here for our ten year anniversary. Although the food was top notch, and other servers were charming and attentive, our server Hannah ignored us. We were staying at the resort and a few nights we wanted to sit by the water and it was within walking distance. They are only open in the afternoon. We only tried the appetizers and cocktails when there. Staff were nice attentive. The cocktails were very good. Had the expresso martini, Ginger Sour Smash and Pineapple Martini. We tried the Sweet Potato chips and the Caprese salad. The tomato used was very hard but the presentation was nice. One night we went to listen to some music with Aldrine Guerrero. My wife and I started our honeymoon with dinner at Oasis on the Beach. Originally, they did not have a table available for us, but due to a last minute cancellation, they were able to seat us, which was honestly a huge relief after a long day of flying and finally arriving on the island. Our server was very kind and welcoming. We ordered the Roasted Tomato Soup, which came with a nice small loaf of bread, as well as the Taro Burger. While it may not have been the most traditionally Hawaiian meal, it was a great way to start our trip. Our server did a pretty good job however one of the couples with us were not very happy with her... she passed him over when taking our order and she almost walked away before he said something. She did it again when taking our dessert order part of the reason for my 3 stars. The food was good, not great. My swordfish with gnocchi and lobster sauce? Hmmm? First of all, our server said they cook the fish medium and it was overdone and the stuff they called gnocchi? Was not gnocchi! It was like little rectangle mushy bits! And the lobster sauce? Was flavorless. Did not really taste like lobster nor did it have any bits of lobster in it? As you can see in my picture, presentation was seriously lacking (the chef scooted it to the side of the bowl) they could've put a little more vegetables in this dish and spread it out nicely in the bowl. My husband enjoyed his swordfish with curry sauce but his was over cooked too. A couple more reasons for the 3 stars. Everyone else enjoyed their food... I would recommend giving them a try as you can't beat the location and the menu items are hit and miss... choose wisely. read more

Overall the restaurant has a great ambiance sits right on the beach. The food however wasn't that good. I ordered a smokey honeycomb cocktail (substitute tequila in lieu of mezcal), as recommended by the waiter. It tasted like an average margarita to me. The tomato soup was alright, but you can't usually go wrong with that. The best salad was so pretty visually but it was missing something. The vinaigrette needed to be more flavorful, or they needed to add more textures to diversify this dish. It also turned me off that as soon as the plate was set, there was dozens of baby bugs flying and landing in the salad... The fish of the day wasn't very good--we didn't finish it... That says something especially since we're on the island of Kauai. None of the dishes really impressed me. It's a great view for sure, but I wouldn't really come back to eat here :( I wished I enjoyed it more. read more

Service was very good! Cannot fault that! The food was just ok. For appetizers we got the Chef's Tostones. The beef on top was good enough bit I didn't much care of the bread fruit that's holding the meat. It was hard! For the entree we got the Seared Catch which is tuna. That was ok. The malunggay furikake sweet potato looks dark but not to tasteful. The other entree is Adobo Honey Babyback Ribs. Served 5 ribs. I ate 3. The ribs are too well grilled it was hard! Dessert of Apple Banana Spring Roll you get one piece cut in half and the Oasis Terrine not so bad but not as good as you might expect. The ambience and the cocktails were great. We were there for my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary. The manager was initially very friendly to us. Our server was nice as well. 3 out of 4 of our dishes were overcooked. (Fish, filet and a burger). I didn't say anything because I didn't want to cause a disruption on their special day but at the end of the meal when I noticed they hadn't eaten much, I asked and they told me the fish was dry and the burger (ordered medium rare) was well done. I excused myself to go to the restroom and I ran into our server and let her know (so she could inform the chef and prevent it from happening to other guests). I didn't want anything but just thought they would appreciate my feedback. When I came out from the restroom, the manager was waiting for me and really got on me for not telling him while he was by our table (we hadn't even cut into our food yet). I was just put off that he was so annoyed with me and tried to blame me for the chef's mistake. It was bizarre. I'm sure the food is mostly great but because of the encounter, I wouldn't go back. They did take off 2 of 4 main courses we did ordered so that was appreciated. read more

I had the goal of proposing to my girlfriend of seven years during our second trip to Kauai together and I booked our celebratory dinner at "Oasis on the Beach". I don't think any other restaurant would've been capable of making us feel welcomed and celebrated as much as the staff at Oasis did, especially Henry and Chef Lenny. Henry was our server and he was very welcoming and personable; he even suggested excellent food places to try during our stay in Kauai. He definitely knows where to find great food in Kauai. Henry was also very thoughtful and had our food come out in courses: first, the "Oasis House Salad"; then, the "Oasis Poke"; and lastly, our entrées. Mine was the "Braised Boneless Short Rib" and my fiancé's was the "7 oz. Filet Mignon". The rice on the poke dish was a little dry for my taste and my fiancé felt her steak leaned more toward medium-rare than medium, but nonetheless we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Then, Chef Lenny surprised us with desserts: the "Apple Banana Spring Roll" paired with the "Oasis Terrine"; and a dragon fruit "Sorbetto". The banana spring roll/lumpia was amazing -- I'd never thought of pairing it with gelato, but now I will. The dark chocolate mousse was rich and satisfying, though I was too full to finish it. The dragon fruit sorbet was a great way to end the night. What truly made the night unforgettable was Chef Lenny himself. Chef Lenny came out of the kitchen to congratulate us on our engagement. He also shared with us that he had also recently married and gave us a few words of encouragement for our new chapter. I was really moved by his gesture and sincerity of taking time out of his busy work schedule to meet us and have a short but very impactful interaction. What sets "Oasis on the Beach" apart is that the staff genuinely cares. They create an experience that is unforgettable not only through the food but also through their warmth and service. I am giving 3 stars because we have had varying experiences here. The view is great- 5 stars. The bartenders are 3 stars because they were a bit rude and the drinks were ok- not great on 3 different occasions( same guy on 2 ) food was 3.5 stars because it is slightly inconsistent but if you order correctly- the food is good and i would give 2 stars for the manager when we complained about an issue. Took no responsibility for the fact that the waitress brought a meal we did not want, charged us for the meal and insisted on getting an appetizer because it would be 45 minutes till the order came- and then she brought the appetizer and the main at the exact same time. No one wants that at all. And the appetizer was cold- not even warm to the touch. The food is good if you order correctly. My daughter order a curry chicken and it was absolutely BAD. it was grey- super off looking and tasted terrible. The fish was good, the braised rib was good( not great) and the bread is good. Nothing to rave about. We will not come any more because the food is only OK - pretty inconsistent and i really feel for the price- the food should be amazing every time and read more

I just paid almost $100 for a cigarette pack size piece if fish, madh potatoes, and 9 green beans, all pushed up against one side of the plate, leaving half of the plate empty. It looked like a confession from the chef that he isn't serving large enough portions. Even the plate was ugly, looking like a personal size deep dish pizza pan instead of a legitimate plate. Maybe its just me, but serving grilled swordfish with mashed potatoes and gravy seems poorly conceived. Nice atmosphere, friendly service, the wine was good, but I had to go for a hot dog afterwards to fill up, and I'm not a big guy. Shame on you, chef. read more

Food was excellent - the ahi was probably the best fish I had all week. They will cook it more if you want but the way that they sear it by "default" is excellent. We also got some starters: the caprese and wedge salad which were both really good as well. I think pretty much every place in Hawaii will say they do farm to table but I could really taste the difference here - everything really was very fresh even down to the tomatoes. Probably the only thing I didn't like was the taro mash because I don't love creamy things but that's only a personal preference. Would definitely return! read more

The venue is pretty because of the ocean view. At night it could get cold which makes the food get cold quicker, so keep that in mind. The service was ok and attentive so that's the 2 stars. However the food just wasn't up to par for the reviews and recommendations from the past. Everything I had was super sour with too much acid. I tried the corn appetizer special which was horrible. Street style corn which was slathered with sour cream substance. Still covered with corn hair. I could not eat any of it. I love corn and this was some bad tasting stuff. The ahi appetizer looked pretty, but not good tasting. The fish had chewy bites which is a huge no in tartar type of dish. It was not very tasty either. I left most of it untouched. Rice was not fresh/tasty in that dish. and once again too much acid on the greens. My husband had their burger with goat cheese and the first few bites were ok but then it just got so overpowering with the bbq sauce on the burger. He ate it because we were hungry. I ate his fries which were not fabulous. It was extreme pricing on very uneventful cousin. Very disappointing outing during our short stay on this island. So save yourself time and money and find a better place for dining out. read more
