Our server Mercedes was very kind really knowledgeable and fun to talk to. We had the original double eggs and they were amazing. We also had the burger that has a brisket on top with jalapeños mac & cheese on top and it was really good. Good sized portions and we shared everything. We will be back!

I have mixed feelings about my experience at this restaurant. Normally, based on the food and…read moreservice I received at my table, I would have given this restaurant five stars. The food was really good, and the two waitresses who took care of me were very friendly, welcoming, and provided great service. I genuinely enjoyed that part of my experience. Unfortunately, my interaction with the hostess, Heather, made me feel singled out and discriminated against. When I arrived, Heather immediately tried to persuade me to sit at the bar, even though the restaurant was quite empty. I declined and explained that I preferred a quieter table because I would be on the phone. Heather then asked for my name and phone number before seating me. Since there was no wait and she was taking me directly to a table, I didn't understand why that information was necessary. After being seated, I politely asked Heather why she had requested my name and phone number. She told me it was so the restaurant could contact me in case I left something behind. What bothered me most was what happened afterward. I personally observed two other parties come into the restaurant, and Heather did not appear to ask them for their names or phone numbers before seating them. I can only speak to what I personally experienced and observed, but the difference in treatment made me feel singled out and discriminated against. It was especially disappointing because everything else about my visit was positive. The food was excellent, and the two waitresses who served me were wonderful. They deserve recognition for making me feel welcome and providing excellent service. Heather was the only person who made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. It's unfortunate because, without that interaction, this easily could have been a five-star experience for me. I hope management looks into why I was asked to provide personal information when other guests apparently were not, because no customer should be left wondering why they were treated differently.

Love that they have a rewards program! We've been talking about coming here ever since they opened a clovis location but just never had the right opportunity. They have a really nice patio but we decided to dine inside. Eureka has a great lunch menu with several options for $13. I tried the al pastor fish tacos and my hubby got the Eureka burger. Both were good... the burger though was something to come back for. They also have a good happy hour. The drinks coming from the bar looked really good. I decided to try the wild child. It did not disappoint with fresh watermelon and mint and a salty spicy rim. We just couldn't leave without trying a dessert. The bourbon barrel cake was really good. Warm cake soaked with bourbon caramel, topped with candied pecans and served with vanilla ice cream. We had a really good first time experience. Diego our server was super friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back!

Very disappointing service…read more This review has nothing to do with the food and everything to do with the service and experience we had today. We were promptly seated on the patio, but after 15-20 minutes we left without ever being served. Not one staff member acknowledged us. We still had all our menus on the table, no water, and even had a highchair brought to our table after we asked our server to bring it to us when we were seated--so it was obvious we were there and had not been helped. What made it worse was that the tables around us were seated after us and received water, drinks, and even an appetizer from the same server, while we were completely ignored. When I spoke to the manager on the way out, instead taking ownership, her first response was an apology followed by, "The host must not have told the server." That may explain it, but it doesn't excuse it. The manager had a great opportunity to own the mistake and try to make things right. Instead, she offered an excuse. Very disappointing experience.

The Local has a ton of potential. My family and I were excited to try a new restaurant in Clovis ,…read moreand ran across positive reviews of this place. We headed in at an odd time yesterday around 230pm. It was late for lunch and too early for dinner. Nevertheless, we were seated in the front dining area, and ordered some entrees. The menu offers a lot of familiar favorites that you would expect to see at a a bar/ restaurant. Burgers, sandwiches, salads, and a few specialty plates. For my meal, I ordered The Local burger (no pickles of course) which was absolutely fantastic. Piled high with cheese, bacon, lettuce and tomatoes - this burger was executed to perfection. I ordered it medium, and it came out medium (imagine that). The best part was the sunny side egg that was placed on top. That first bite was heavenly. The yolk breaks, and all the goodness adds a little extra flavor to the already delicious burger. The shoe string fries were seasoned perfectly- I highly recommend this entree. The only thing I would add next time is an element of spice to take things up to another level. My wife ordered the BLTA sandwich , with sweet potato fries. I didn't try a bite because I had enough bacon on my burger , but I did sneak a sweet potato fry , and it was fantastic. My son order the chimichurri steak , he seemed to enjoy it although it may have had too much sauce on it for his liking. Perhaps it would been better if he ordered the sauce on the side. My picky daughter ordered the pesto chicken sandwich ,and she said it was pretty good. My family and I were full , but weren't going to let the dessert options pass us by. My family has a sweet tooth. We all shared the chocolate cake and bread pudding . Both are nice options if you need something sweet to top off your meal. The food and vibe of this place deserves 5 stars. I will deduct one star for the mediocre service and inconsistent food prep. Our meals were coming out one by one which made it awkward when trying to eat together. Our server didn't offer refills on our drinks , and didn't bring us utensils -until we asked for them. I will be back to try more menu items , and enjoy a cold beer while watching the game.

The Local gets the job done if you need a quick bite during the work day. I tried the BBQ Bleu Burger, which comes loaded with bleu cheese crumbles, BBQ sauce, bacon jam, fried onions, and the usual burger fixings. The burger itself was generously sized, but the patty was underseasoned, and the dominant flavors were mainly the bleu cheese and BBQ sauce. My wife ordered the pesto chicken sandwich and felt it lacked flavor. Our kids split the mac & cheese and a grilled cheese sandwich, but neither was a hit. Even the grilled cheese went mostly untouched, by my kids which was unexpected. On the plus side, the outdoor patio is cozy and looks like a great spot for fall dining with a drink in hand. They also offer brunch, though it's available by reservation only.
