The counter clerk was patient while we looked over the modest menu! Definitely a burger joint! We ordered the double smasher combo; burger,fries, and fountain drink. We got our drink and our food was delivered to our table! The fries were hot, crispy on the outside soft inside! Perfect! The burger was huge! Lettuce, tomato, pickles, a sauce and cheese! Steaming hot and the bun was fresh and delicious! It was a huge burger! I could only eat half. I had to bring half home! Came for a easy midday lunch. I really like that I can always order my burger online. It saves time and makes it really easy to pick it up. They text me when my order was complete and the staff were able to give me my food hot and fresh. The restaurant is small and quaint however it very clean. The ambiance inside was very updated, clean and hip and while the person taking my order was nice wasn't super engaged and was more interested in her phone. Food however was fantastic. I got the double smash with onion rings and this did not disappoint. Flavors all the way around were fantastic and really enjoyed it. Next time I would only get the single smash I couldn't even come close to finishing this. All the ingredients were great and the burger sauce was amazing! Burger was great. Cant say anything negative about the food itself. The "to go" ordering process was a little frustrating. I call in leaving work to order food to have it ready when I get there.. the girl on the phone says they can't take orders over the phone, and that I have to order online. Ok thats dumb and not what I'm used to but whatever. So I go to their page and it says door dash is their preferred ordering method and it has no fees. so I make another stupid account on another stupid app I don't want and order my double smash burger. It was $12. I get to the place and their menu says a double smash is $10. I ask the girl why the price is different, and she tells me that door dash prices are higher than in store. So I can't call in and order over the phone, but when I use their online ordering system it adds $2 to the order to do it. So TLDR if you want to order to go food it's a 20% up charge on another app you probably don't want to use Also no napkins in the bag so I was a mess eating it in the car after. read more

My friends and I were honestly addicted for a while when we first tried it. Went once a week, and even twice a week at one point. We've finally shaken the addiction but that's at no fault of theirs. Their Smash burgers are delicious, cooked to perfection with the grilled onions and cheese. You also have the option to add lettuce, tomatoes and so on if you'd like as well. Aside from the burger being delicious, I absolutely LOVE their fries! Thin but thick at the same time and perfectly crispy! Drooools! If I had one critique, it was that they never did get their ice cream machine in (they had milkshake options on the menu in the beginning) and I was reallllly looking forward to trying one of their milkshakes! I guess it's a blessing in diguise-- my body does not need to be consuming all of that in one sitting. But anyway, they won't lose a point for that. It took around 5 minutes for our food to come out which was pretty quick! Interior is clean and there are lots of tables to sit at. Went a few weeks ago for dinner first time at this location. Was greeted upon entry. I absolutely love their smash burgers. I ordered the jalapeño smash and my husband ordered the double smash. This place is a hit or miss for him simply because of our first experience. He felt that they over cook the patties which causes the edges to be burnt and taste unpleasant. So he had a conversation with the lady taking our order about it and it dragged on longer than it had to so I totally forget to ask about adding topping to our burger and she didn't offer. Don't realize it until our order was basically ready so I didn't get a chance to ask her if she could add it. We were also looking forward to ordering some milkshakes but they had signs up saying it wasn't available at the time we were there. The food was delicious regardless the burgers were perfect and didn't have burnt edges. The fries were fresh. The place needed some cleaning however some tables were dirty and my husband took my daughter to the bathroom and said the floor was completely wet (hoping it was just water). I am so excited to see Hammy's Smash Burgers open a second location, this one in Clovis. The first location is also off Shaw Avenue in West Fresno. I can give you three good reasons why I think you will become a big fan of Hammy's once you try its burgers. First is the Maillard reaction. It is a process of taking hand-packed fresh 100% Angus beef and placing them on a searing hot, well-seasoned grill, and smashing the beef into a thin, savory patty. This browns and caramelizes the beef and creates a deep, savory flavor. Moreover, the crispy edges of the beef patty created by this process here supposedly seal in the juices and keep them from escaping. It is then topped with a blanket of cheese right on the beef patty as it cooks, layered with a slice of lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions, and secret sauce, and placed on a soft buttery bun. The result is a classic burger with maximum flavor. Secondly, the fries are some of the best I have tried locally. They are crispy and well-seasoned, so it is worth paying the extra $5 to make it a combo with fries and a drink. The onion rings are terrific too albeit nothing too special. Plus, you will have to shell out an additional $2 for your combo if you substitute the fries with the onion rings. I would stick with the fries. Third is the reasonably priced menu items, including the burgers. A Single Smash will only set you back $6. Their most pricey burgers, which include double or triple patties, are only $8.50 each. If you have not already, come taste why these crispy-edged smashed burgers will be some of the juiciest and most savory burgers you are going to try. read more

If I had to pick one place to ignore my doctor's advice to lower my cholesterol and BP, this would be the place. I don't care if I take an extra seat due to the mass size I accumulate from eating these things. I loved the neon lights of the place and the retro ketchup bottles they have at the tables.
