Save your time, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE my family and I live near by and stopped in to get us all lifetime memberships around May 2020 at this time the crew was completely friendly and nice, all transactions were smooth and done without complications.. As of our recent visits they just haven't been the same. I'm not sure if the establishment is under new management or if they're cycling employees out.. but somethings obviously not right here. Recently my Family of 8 went to go shooting and understanding there is a shortage on bullets and after 2 VISITS to the establishment that day to confirm they had the ammo we needed we were told they no longer had the ammo.. okay so we decide to leave, when leaving we attempted to purchase ammo for other guns (they allow 2 boxes per customer), when realizing the rules everyone divided to buy their own separate bullets ONLY to have Yvonne who had already confirmed they had the ammo only for them NOT to have it anyways, she THEN tried to tell us we could only get One box which just invalidated the fact that we could buy TWO PER CUSTOMER, we ended up having to do MULTIPLE transactions and talking back and forth regarding the rule only to end up purchasing them anyways. What a hassle for nothing right? Now we've come back again, not sure why at this point, but we come back and Here is Yvonne again, hassling and arguing back & forth. She calls a man who comes to the front and not only violated personal Space & REQUIRED space by THE GOVERNOR and further harassed and made accusations towards us. leading to Us simply asking for our membership cards and telling them to have a good day, the man then turns and says "You won't be the last". Personally, I think the employees are unprofessional, and disrespectful in many ways, Yet we RETURNED to give you business knowing we should not have. Today is Christmas Eve 12-24-2014. I purchased 3 firearms and used this location as the FFL receiver. The initial shipment was thought to be lost or stolen when I arrived on 12-22-2014 to pick up my gun. The gun was finally located early Christmas Eve morning and scheduled for delivery. I called 4 times that day and the person who answered the phone was fully aware of the situation we'd been dealing with since Monday. I know this because I'd briefed him the previous day. He told me each time that I called he'd call as soon as it arrived. He was very reassuring. I felt certain he was on the case. Wednesday 12-24 -2014 My Cell phone alerted me to a UPS email alert that my package was delivered. I immediately jumped into my truck as I only live a few miles down the road. just before leaving I decided to view the entire email and was stunned to see the complete message stating UPS had made an attempt to deliver. They did not deliver the firearm and the reason given by ups on the alert notice was " the receiver was not available". The attempt to deliver time was 4:34 p.m. I thought they had closed early but this conflicted with the sign posted on the Bullet hole entrance door I read during my Monday visit. A sign with Christmas holiday business hours had been posted. The sign had 6 p.m. as closeting time on Christmas Eve 12-24-2014. I immediately called the Bullet Hole main number and was surprised to hear the voice of the exact same person whom I'd been in contact with for the last few 2 days answer. I asked him why UPS was unable to deliver if he was present. He actually giggled and said he was sorry but was sorry and was probably on break but not to worry as they would be open the day after Christmas. For three days I expressed to everyone I came in contact with at the bullet hole that this was a Christmas Gift. I've got a Son in Law with a wife and three kids. He's been wanting a gun like this for a long time but firearms are expensive and law enforcement salaries for young officers are meager. My wife and I saved to purchase this gun and Giving it to him on Christmas would have been the ultimate gift. I'm extremely disappointed and also feel betrayed to a certain degree. Businesses that fail often wonder what happened? A month or so back a police officer was killed at this gun range. It was no fault of the bullet hole as the 20 year veteran officer had accidentally shot himself. However as the story flowed through Facebook social media for some reason the general public began posting their negative and inflamed comments about the Bullet Hole along with their condolences for the fallen officer. I actually defended this place on Facebook. I have been going there since it opened and While it's obviously not the famous GUN SITE shooting facility founded by the late Lt. Col. Jeff Cooper it was convenient and bare bones functional. I didn't think it had earned the social media beat down it was receiving. Yes I had noticed the decline in physical appearance in the last few years and I could even tolerate some of the range officers who strutted about barking out their commands in their abrupt sanctimoniousness manner. But this one event has swayed my opinion. The owner(s) need to ask themselves does ONE negative really matter? This is best answers by another Question. How many Ice bergs did the Titanic hit? The place is run like a cash cow. Sometimes they can be rude and indifferent. They have a sign outside that says they open at 10 in the morning but in reality they open at eight in the morning. I wasted my time twice going there at 9:30 to wait my turn to get in only to find out their sign was mistaken and they don't care about it. The grounds are soft and muddy so if it rains I don't recommend anybody to go as it is quite a mess. The rifle range stations are so tight you rub elbows with the shooter next to you which means it is quite uncomfortable to shoot when others are assigned station next to you and is an open bay without protective barriers between shooters. The main pistol range is an open bay with shooters standing right next to each other without any protection or barriers between them which I find unsafe. read more

This place is very affordable. This is now my and husband's favorite place to shoot. We like to bring our own guns and ammo. The workers are much friendlier than other places we've been and they do not mind giving advice which is awesome. read more

Been going here for 18+ years . Showed up at 6:44 pm , says they close at 8 pm on website, 8:15 pm on a sign posted for all to see . Extremely dissatisfied/ disappointed. They try and chase you out 20-30 minutes before closing . Tried to get in pistol shooting 15 minutes before closing , and the guy told me we are closing up . I paid for 2 ppl to shoot and only 1 got to shoot . Thought I could fire off at least a couple of clips on the pistol range , after trying to teach my son the rifle range . Apparently they need to go home before they take care of their customers. The Asian lady at the front told me she couldn't give me a free time next time , because I didn't get 1 round off and didn't know I wouldn't get to shoot until the time posted . . Last place I take my kid to learn how to shoot . Rude ppl didn't want to do their job , just worried about going home and closing up early . What a waste of time , money and effort. Private Bays are fair price. They are short staffed and could use some coaching on courtesy & customer service. Today we went to rent the bays. Due to rain this week the bay we were assigned was still wet and muddy. We went back to ask for a different bay. The guy told us no one has complained all day. Really? So maybe some don't mind having muddy feet and unstable ground. We do! The other bay we got had grass and was a much better pick. I wonder why his response wasn't instead Im sorry about that. We could have made the decision to leave and get our money back but because on a previous visit we had good service we chose to stay. read more

I've been going here for years. They have begun to do upgrades to the site, which is nice. They have hight staff turnover because the owner is an idiot. Prices are reasonable and fair; unless you have to rent and it does get a bit pricey but it is so worth it. I've heard her yelling at staff: I've also heard her publicly bragging about how she has the Sheriff in her pocket and can get (friends') tickets dismissed, as well as the county - although now they are holding things up with her new building, so that's a drag. read more

Completed LTC100 training here and the instructors were FANTASTIC. Horrible, dated range with a rude condescending staff. Fees are insanely high, the target paracord is hanging by threads in most cases, they are literally are so cheap they won't replace it. Our target boards just flapped in the wind all day. Oscar in the office is the rudest human being I've ever encountered, not only that, they condescend you every chance they get. Their bays are so close together with no walls hot brass is always getting sling in your face. Hardly any tables for extra gear, you just have to put it in the dirt or on the ground. It's overall the most sorry excuse for a range I've ever seen, at some of the highest prices. On top of all that they have no up to date knowledge of ATF pistol brace and kicked us out because they said our ATF approved brace was illegal (after we paid over $100 for 4 people to share a private bay. I've been looking for someplace to shoot since I arrived in San Antonio and a few of my buddies have been talking about this place. Finally went out there today and was not disappointed at all. It's a bit of a drive from the NE side of town but worth the cost, about $15 for a first timer. Easy check in process, you can pay with cash or credit which is nice compared to other places that are cash only. Very helpful staff and front desk person. The range official on the pistol range was very polite and very safety conscious. I definitely will go back. read more

I only go here when it's the only viable option. It's not that clean a range and you kind of serve as your own range officer when you're shooting at the pistol or rifle bays. You could get a private bay, which is an attractive option, but it's somewhat costly. Pistol bay has no divider, so if you're next to a range warrior you're going to get sprayed with brass all day. I took my wife here once - ONCE - and she nearly wouldn't go shooting with me (anywhere) again. If you're a beginner, for sure try somewhere else. If you're a seasoned shooter, this place will meet your needs but don't expect anything too great. It's adequate in a pinch, but that's about it. read more

It was my first time at this range I went on the sixth with my boyfriend, and I had a great experience here! The guys at the front desk were very friendly and any questions we had they explained well! My boyfriend already had a membership there so he was able to shoot for free but my shooting fee was 20 plus 6 for ammo. I was trying out my new rifle at the 50 but after shooting the bulls eye multiple time I wanted to try the 100 yrd range. We went back to the office and they gladly allowed us to shoot there. When we finished and were ready to go home we went back into the office and returned our eyes and ears. I was surprised when they handed me a membership card! I prefer Place to Shoot. Bullet Hole staff is rude and inpatient with any questions regarding courses or general information. Parking sucks, the lot was way too small and had to park out in the street. The pistol range needs further improvement. I did not like that it was an open range and felt rushed as people waited behind you to shoot, didn't like the fact that you had to set up a stationary target at one distance. I prefer bays and lanes with the option of setting up targets at different distances. I should have called or asked someone before driving 30 miles, wasting gas and brass...bump. read more

Great place to shoot, tons of rentals and the staff is exceptional. Dan helped us set up and stuck with us while we shot today. He made our experience more fun then it already was... Which is hard to do when your shooting a sig 551 and a integral suppressed mp5 socom. Every time in San Antonio I will be coming back here to shoot. read more

Been twice previously, to shoot pistols only had a great experience. Although there is no target transport system, the shooting range is well equiped with various distances from which to shoot. I own an AR15 pistol which shoots .223. Although registered as a pistol I'm not allowed to use it in the pistol bay. No problem, many shooting ranges don't allow rifle cartridge pistols (even though a .44 and .50 are massively more powerful). I was told to try the rifle range, so I did. 50 yards is a bit far for a pistol, this place lacks a 25 yard range. Also, in the rifle range anything under 4 seconds between shots is considered rapid fire and believe me they are gung ho about it. In the 50 yard bay a fellow shooter and I were both using AR type weapons which have almost an identical report. She must have heard us firing in tandem and thought one of us was "rapid firing" because she layed into us HARD. They need to remember who the patrons are. no one was emptying clips as fast as they could. Other than that, it's been a pleasant process. It is, however now not my PRIMARY shooting range based on my experience. Pros: Variety of ranges, lots of lanes, helpful staff, usaully a range master on duty. Cons: no 25yard, a bit over zealous about the 4 second repeat, not accomidating to those who use semi auto rifle loads because of afore mentioned reasons. read more

Disorganized, slow and rude at times. The facility is nice but the location makes the staff very sensitive to even the thought of stray shots or ricochets (a valid concern being next to residential neighborhoods). This is likely the reason behind the requirement for 4 seconds between shots. So if you have a modern rifle and desire short to medium range drills, go somewhere else. And if you like being treated like an intelligent consumer, use only as a last resort. read more

first time there with wife and friend. used only the pistol range. i thought the tables were nice. good supervision and safety rules. targets should be better, nonetheless, i will return for sure. the staff was nice, period. not extra flamboyant, but why should they be. pretty normal for shooting ranges and shops. to the point, no nonsense attitude, but definitely not rude. respectful and informative. sure will come back. we felt very welcomed. read more

As a shooting range it's a pretty great place. They have excellent private shooting bays, rifle and pistol ranges and some shooting competitions. BUT if you want to get your CHL I suggest you go someplace else. Once they have your money they really stop caring about you. You are crammed in a single wide trailer with 50 other people as they go over the information. It's an all day course so you need to bring your own lunch because you only get a half hour to eat something. After the course is over you line up with everyone else as the instructor signs your sheets. Once you get your completion certificate they are done with you. Even if the information is wrong. The instructor told us that the certificate of training must match your drivers license and then she typed the wrong license number on the form. We have emailed them and called them. I even fixed the form myself and sent a digital copy over so they wouldn't have to look at the license again. It's been two months to try to fix it and have it re-accomplished by the instructors and they refuse to fix their mistake. When we talked to them in person we were told to go ahead with the rest of the process to get our License to Carry and then pay to have it fixed! I thought I paid for a service. Don't go here for any sort of training. Bass Pro does it for cheaper in a much nicer facility. Should have gone there. read more

The only thing good about this place is they have private bays when available. Dude working the counter is rude and does not have time for anything. When I came back in I decided to inquire about moving over to the private Bay Area which my buddy had already secured and was shooting already. The nice dude at the counter helped me out. As I was speaking to the more professional person the dude at the register yelled out I would have to go to the back of the line just like everybody else and pay. I had already paid for the pistol range, so charge me again just to move to another area? Hey, I could a lived with that, but sending me back to the end of that long ass line was not cool, I basically lost my place to get told to start over. This place has terrible customer service. I will never give my business to the Bullet Hole again. I will stick to A Place to Shoot where it's better run, more organized, and the customer service is 100% better. The only reason I'm giving this place a star is because of private Bay Area. read more
