This cute cafe was tucked away on one of the less busy streets near my hotel. They serve mostly pastries. The creme puffs are DELICIOUS. I had the Carmel one with my latte and it's safe to say I probably could have eaten the whole tray.

Stumbled upon this gem of a place during our first hour walking around in Paris, when we were just walking around. How lucky is it that we had found a 2 euro coin earlier that day, because we hadn't withdrawn any euro's yet, and each choux was 1 euro each! Booyah. Definitely visit here for a treat - our firist visit we tried the caramel and banana choux. Later came back at the end of our trip for breakfast/brunch, and we got sandwiches and more choux flavors (vanilla creme and banana citron, both très bien)! I think I got the vegetarian sandwich, and I think W got some kind of ham sandwich? Whelp, we can't read french, so we just pointed at the sandwiches that looked good, haha. Actually, the owner can speak a little bit of English, and she was super sweet and tried to explain and show us the sandwiches when we were trying to decide. Anyway, it's a super cute place to meet up with someone and also very delicious!

This place absolutely incredible. I had the best sandwich I've ever put in my mouth and the sweet treats are amazing as well. They have truly mastered the puff pastry and I will for sure eat here again before I leave. You've missed out if you come the Paris and don't eat here

Locals and visitors both: GO HERE!! Oh - and for tourists without SIM cards: THEY HAVE WIFI! ;) I've traveled tons and been bunches of very cool spots, but this one is among the best. It's super inexpensive, the music and atmosphere is great (small like a café but warm and fun like a hangout). And they even recycle (which is so rare in this town)!! More important than all of those things, though (and those are big things!), is the food. It is unlike anything I've ever tried. Just look at the menu! My sandwich was on this amazing bread that almost dissolved in my mouth with yummy seeds/nuts on it. The melty cheese dripped all over my plate. HEAVEN. Other crazy ingredients that worked so well together in this masterpiece: cream cheese, walnuts, figs, Brie, and salad. Then, to top it off, a freaking PASSION AND TARRAGON pouf! Who comes up with these things? It was SO. GOOD. I'm totally in love - and so glad I can come back again and again and again.

Apparently you can get a tower of choux for events, and at about EUR 1 each, this would be a great addition.

Throughout our trip from Provence, Basque Country and Paris, I joked that they must hate me for ordering my beef med b/c it was so much tougher compared to our beef. Anyway, it's just different. Our server spoke English fluently and was such a hoot...full of personality & joy. Per his recommendation, we ordered it med-rare b/c it continues cooking table side on the sizzling platter. We ate too much. It's a lot of food to split the cote de boeuf btn two. Comes with very good chubby fries and 3 sauces. TBH, I didn't love the sauces. Luckily we walked 6miles that day and skipped lunch. Started with a garden salad, but sadly we had no room for dessert. Reservations via email. We managed to get a 9pm reso, last minute, I bet due to a cancellation. They have 2seatings...6pm & 9pm.

Making a reservation isn't hard but you do need to email them and there's no online booking system. You also have to confirm again 1-2 days before. I understand they are small with a limited number of tables so that's fair and it seemed like everyone showed up even though they don't require a deposit. On a Friday night, it didn't appear there was much chance or walking in although there were like 2 open seats at what would have been a shared table. The menu is small and includes some typical French starters, steaks, 3 non steak entrees, cheeses, and dessert. All steaks come with potatoes, 3 sauces, salad. Service was a highlight. The waiter was personable and funny, had solid recommendations, and made sure leftovers were taken home. Also had a solid wine recommendation after asking some questions. They probably get a lot of people who don't speak French and they had no problem speaking English. The food- ordered a ribeye medium rare. The steak was so so charred on the outside and it almost ruined the whole thing. I really wish they would have charred it way less especially when it was ordered medium rare. There is seared and then there is burnt; this was sadly the latter. The steak itself was fine, honestly nowhere near the best meat I have had but the price is quite reasonable for how much you get. I would say the steak was maybe 6/10 for me, largely due to the cooking. The fries were phenomenal. Definitely a highlight and really tasty and with a great texture. Salad was good, pretty typical. I wanted to like the sauces more but found them just okay. The best by far for me was the blue cheese sauce but even this one I thought the flavors could have popped a little more. Atmosphere was fun, there were a few bigger groups (6-8 which is the biggest they accommodate) but it never got unreasonably loud. Overall I wanted to love it but was a bit disappointed even though the service and fries were both great.

My wife and I came here after hiking around Montmartre and saw all the great reviews for this…read morerestaurant here and on other sites. We were so looking forward to the frog legs, onion soup and other delicacies pictured. We got there and the sign was just as it was with the same name -- Au Pied du Sacre Coeur. We should've noticed something was wrong when no one was inside. When the waiter (lone person working along with cook) gave us the menu, my wife and I stared at each other completely confused. The menu looked nothing like the ones on this website and featured Italian food items, like spaghetti, arroz con pollo or mozarella. I asked him about frog legs or the onion soup. He looked confused and just said no. Out of respect for him, we just ordered the charcuterie, which featured stale bread and a few slices of meat taken from my local grocery store in the U.S. Also -- they claimed to not accept any international credit cards. WHAT HAPPENED? Are all these reviews fake? Most likely, they underwent new ownership right when we visited. But new visitors -- please beware. Do not trust any of the reviews before mine. If I was mistaken, please post photos and just tell me that I was part of some elaborate joke to ruin a lunch for me and my wife.

That's not acceptable. The food, however, was. Hence my difficulty in giving one rating. Our 3 dishes tried were indeed solid. Generous servings of seafood in the bouillabaisse, and I have no qualms whatsoever with my cuise de grenouille and foie gras salads. Bread kept us alive. The free Cote du Rhône glass was appreciated for check-in! Our server had his head permanently at a 30 degree angle, staring at his mobile. Tis a shame. But he was friendly ( oh, and easy on the eyes). I liked the quiet location out of the chaotic fray, like up the street, with all its smoking and volume. PS This is lover's type of location. Even the dark end of the small street feels illicit!
