When I went in the first time I was looking and researching Mountain Bikes to start trying some local trails that were beyond my current commuter bike. Jason answered questions and elaborated and brought up things that I hadn't thought of yet. He's done that each time I've been there. I'm still relatively new to the bike scene in any way. I asked questions about things that I'm doing on my commuter bike that I didn't buy there, and it isn't a Trek bike. He focused on things that would make me a better rider overall. I purchased my bike from Trek Bicycles/Bicycles Plus a few years ago with the promise of continued support. I later purchased a new set of aerodynamic bars and stem that I paid them to install on the bike to personalize the bike a bit. When I picked up the bike, my font derailleur was completely inoperable. I brought the bike back and and promised to fix the issue; however, when I returned to pick up my bike the issue had not been addressed and service manager told me that there was nothing they could do to remedy the issue. Essentially, they placed the blame on the manufacturer of the handlebars, ENVE and I would need to live with the problem. The manufacturer of the handlebars said they have never heard of a problem with the product like the one I've described (thousands of positive online reviews support that point) and believe it was installed incorrectly. There are several great bike shops in the area, so don't waist your time here. read more

This was the first on a list of 4 bike shops I was going to visit after spending an hour online trying to decide which spot had the expertise. The. First. Stop. I was greeted immediately and was thoroughly helped by a wonderful employee. He knew I looked a bit lost (I just bought a pricey indoor spin bike but am no expert at all in what's needed to follow my on-demand classes) and he gave me all his attention...even though the store was getting pretty busy! He broke down what each pair of spin shoes does as well as which SPD pedals to fit my bike AND worth my money. Sure he could've swindled a noob like me after saying "All I know is I need clip in shoes and pedals to get the most out of my ride" but he didn't! And he installed the cleats on my new shoes so all I had to do was easily install the pedals on my bike at home. I called this location to purchase an Electra Cruiser, it was recommended to me by a dear friend who knows everything about the bike industry. The only bike shop that sold this brand was a Trek dealer. I call the location @Snyder Plaza because I had shopped there before and the customer svc was always "top notch". Well TODAY WAS NO DIFFERENT. I spoke to Jason W. on the phone; he gave me some information and I told him I would stop by. He told me to ask for him when I arrived, and I AM SO GLAD THAT I DID! This guy was AMAZING!!!! He was helpful, he knew just about everything about anything and THEN SOME. He had the best attitude, he seemed as excited as I was (lol) to get this bike TODAY, again LOL. It was a Saturday, probably spent about an hour and 30 minutes with us. He didn't try to oversell me, it was more like ME WANTING TO BUY EVERYTHING all by myself! He said delivery was no charge for the holidays, but he said delivery for my area was on Tuesday. However, he offered to check with the boss and get approval for delivery after the shop closed (that same evening) which was such a great surprise! I was perfectly content to wait until Tuesday. So I selected the color (an amazing lime green), got a super duper helmet, water bottle and holder, light for my helmet (in back on the helmet), light for the road attached to the handle bars, rack on the back to hold a pet carrier (that is on order), front basket, a bell and I think that's about it. He promised that after we left, he would get to work on assembly of all the fancy gadgets I had purchased. He texted me about 6:30 or so, that he was on the way. He arrived around 7:15-7:30 that evening, gave me a quick lesson on how the lights turn off/on, he had already adjusted the seat for my height at the shop, all went so perfectly. He even checked my Echelon spin bike at home that I had already purchased to change out the seat that came with the spin bike, and install a larger one so that it would be more comfortable. Jason was THE MOST pleasant person; my husband is so excited about my new bike, that we will most likely go back and pick one out for him. I want to share my experience. I had a flat tire and all I needed was a tube for my removed tire. I had already removed the tire and removed the tube with the hole. I was greeted nicely and asked if I needed any help? Yes I need a new tube for my bike. He said we have them behind the counter. Ok. And he said he could install it for me. Wow what service? Nope I was charged $10.00 for the nice gesture and no receipt. They save paper so you get it in a email?So once I received my email receipt, of course delayed, my bill was 18.00. $10.00 installation and 7.99 for the new tube. Lesson learned. I was very excited to drive all the way from Frisco Tx to visit Bicycles Plus on Snider Plaza today, so that I could purchase my first bike. As soon as I walked in "I say I'm looking for a mountain bike". The guy says "were sold out." Which kind of bummed me out. Then I look up and point to the bikes hanging on the wall and ask "what are those?" "Oh those are $4500 and up" he says. I'm thinking (are you sold out or do I just not look like I have $4500? I spent all of 2 minutes inside before I was escorted out and advised by staff that "Phillip" the manager, requested that I leave because I was not wearing a mask. Everything was very cordial and I walked out thinking, I just need to return next weekend with a mask. We don't have these rules in Frisco. No biggie. I understand the premise under the current climate we are living in. What I don't understand is why no more than 10 minutes later I witnessed the same manager (who advised me that I couldn't be inside) casually carrying a conversation with an white gentleman, and happily inviting him into the store "without a mask" to receive full service. I took a video of the whole thing and I think it's really messed up. My experience doesn't deserve the one star I had to select to post my review. read more

Friendly and knowledgable staff that take great car of your bike whether you drop in unexpected or call in to set up drop off. The turn around time definitely varies but they will do there best to help squeeze you in. In fact, the mechanics just this week turned my two bike tuneups around in only 15 minutes. Basically asked me to hang around and they would have them out immediately (not the norm but was great regardless). I definitely appreciated the fact that the mechanics don't try to upsell. This week on my 'to do list' was to get brakes on a knee scooter repaired. A friend suggested going to a bike repair shop...wasn't sure this was the best choice ??? Searched around and found repair shop in Snider Plaza, an area of town I grew up. Spoke with Jason upon arrival. He was GREAT !! He listened to what repairs were needed, got scooter from the car, adjusted the brakes, showed me how to do same adjustment (fix it myself in the future), and had me in and out in 20 minutes. Rude and don't care attitude don't remember if I ever experienced such bad customer service! Went there 20 minutes before their "lunch brake" ends despite no such marking on the door, on the door says they work from 10am-6pm... some 4-6 employees were getting back in the store.... wanted to drop two wheels with punctures to be fixed one of the employees told me it's ok just to drop off I went to my car to pick the wheels when I took them to the door the manager(taller blondish dude-main culprit the rude one) told me we don't have anyone here to deal with it despite having all those guys just getting back in. The manager told me quite rudely "seriously you don't have anyone else to fix it?" This is my favorite bike shop in Dallas! Why? They treat you like a human. The store manager Dallas took half an hour with me to make sure my pedals were hooked up properly. Chad in the service department is outstanding as well, my bike has been going great all year and I ride it a lot! There is a big range of bikes here from novice and kids bikes to super high end BMC road machines. I was first worried that it would be really expensive being in snider plaza but the pricing is actually very reasonable. The bike shop also organizes some weekly rides which are quite spirited! Be ready to go fast! They are organized in a way that if you get dropped there are regroup spots on the ride. Overall great service, great people and fast bikes! read more

Walked in on a Saturday morning to have my bike tuned up. Was instantly seen (although a crowd gathered a little later on and there was a short wait for them) and Miles was extremely helpful and speedy! He showed me what all needed to be fixed and didn't try to upsell me on anything which is always nice. Walked around and found some very affordable sunglasses which I treated myself to. I just moved to Dallas from Minneapolis. After 16 hours in the car, I was destined to find an LBS to help get me back on the road as I'd recently gifted away my ride back home. After some research, I found the type of bike I wanted that was in stock at Bicycles Plus. I was warmly greeted on arrival by JT who I'd had several conversations on the phone with. I am blown away by the service I was provided. Granted I knew the bike I wanted, and the price was within my budget, JT and Dallas told me everything I needed to know about the bike. They also told me about the cross and road scene in the city and pointed me to some great routes, events, and communities I am going to check out. Their selection is phenomenal and while certainly catering to an upscale market, I was able to find a few things on mark down such as a helmet and kit. These guys are the real deal. About a year ago, I went bike shopping with my father in law. We started at Richardson Bike Mart next to Whiterock Lake and left less than impressed with their sales people. I know we weren't looking at the bikes that cost more than some Kias, but come on, word of mouth people! It felt like what we were looking at didn't nearly have enough carbon fiber in it, or enough dollar signs on the tag to be worth their precious time! I had bought a pair of cycling shoes for spinning class from bicycles plus and had been impressed with the attentiveness of their sales guy. Even with people coming in for just a $60 purchase. We decided to go take a looksie. I had been tempted to buy a half decent road bike for myself and decided to take the plunge after finding the one I had narrowed my research on. We ended up buying 2 hybrid bikes and a road bike. They sold us over $2500 worth of bicycles and accessories that day! Take that RBM snobby sales guy! This small shop at Snider Plaza is chock full of all kinds of bikes and accessories. Due to space constraints, they don't carry a huge number of brands and models, but they can order just about anything you want if they don't have it in stock. They do, however, have something for just about every budget and every cyclist. If it's got 3 wheels, training wheels, streamers and a basket, a full-on carbon fiber frame, a fancy suspension, they'll something. Their sales staff as I mentioned earlier is most helpful and knowledgeable. They do not work for commission (so they say), and will spend as much time with you as you need to make your decision. Heck, they'll even let you take a loaner before you commit to a purchase. The lady who owns the place is often there helping out and she's super nice. What I like best, next to the sales folks, are the PRICES!! They are cheaper than anywhere around (from experience). I saved $200 on my road bike and the in-laws saved probably as much on theirs. They even shipped it to my home (at the time) in Austin. Like I said, if you know what you want, they can order it for you and you are likely to save some good moolah! As for the service department, they will waive labor costs for most minor repairs if you buy your bike there. For this kind of work, I can usually walk in and wait on them to do the repairs. They'll discount the labor $25 for major repairs. Ah, and they also do a great job. I do have a couple of gripes to be fair. I do wish they would have put me and my new bike on the trainer to measure everything to properly fit me to my bike. They did that at bicycle sport shop in Austin when S.O. bought hers and she didn't even buy anything that expensive. Also, they don't have a great selection of clothes. Though most shops in Dallas don't have a great selection either. I've resigned myself to buy my fancy cycling shirts at bicycle sport shop in Austin (the Lamar location). Great selection, but mo' money! For these reasons, they lose a star. I will keep going back and sending people over there. read more

Highlights: - Friendly, helpful staff - Very quick and informative I've been here twice now, once to view their selection of bikes and once for a quick repair. The first time, the staff was very friendly and let us test ride a few different bikes around the area to feel the difference and were eager to answer our questions about the differences in bike models, materials, etc. The second time was no different. After noticing that my bike was clicking and jumping when pedaling. I brought it back to Bicycles Plus and had it checked out. They diagnosed the problem within a few minutes, let me know what the issue is and promptly swapped out the faulty part. The whole thing was over in less than 10 minutes and cost me $15 and some change. Overall, great experience both times and I'll likely make my way back here if I run into any more trouble! read more

Not only do they have a great selection of cruisers, commuters, mountain and road bikes - the staff is super helpful and friendly. Not once did I feel rushed or pressured to buy (even though I did). I went in knowing what I was looking for and Kevin helped steer me in direction of a bike that even more suited my needs...and it was cheaper! Purchasing the bike, I was able to pick it up the next day with rack and fenders installed. Another great perk of buying at Bicycles Plus is that you have lifetime service so instead of having to mess with the chains, gears or even pumping tires, you can just bring it in here and they will do it for ya! read more

Everyone was very helpful. I felt uncomfortable because I know nothing about bikes and I certainly didn't know how expensive the clothing and accessories would be. I browsed for a while before someone finally asked if I'd been taken care of. Before I left, I was asked that question at least 5 times which indicates everyone is on the same page with their commitment to service. It took me 20 minutes to get my bike into the car before driving over. A GORGEOUS guy came to my car and took it out in 60 seconds. He then carried the bike with one hand while I followed him to the back of the store where the service desk is located. He set the bike down and walked away and 1 minute later an equally gorgeous guy walked over and asked if I'd been taken care of. If you get nothing else from this review, know that at this store, there are some beautiful men you can watch fix your bike. They put my inner tube back on, filled both tires with air, adjusted the seat height, and carried the bike back to my car. The guy who helped me also taught me the most efficient way to get my bike in my car so it would never again take me 20 minutes to figure out. All of this was free of charge. "Come back if you need anything or it loses air again pretty quickly and we'll sell you an inner tube" sounded like a fair deal to me. I chose this store because it's family owned and I figured they wouldn't nickle and dime me. I was right. It's such a cool atmosphere, they have shop dogs - 2 dogs they keep in the work area as pets. Unfortunately, the customer service was very lacking today. They seemed much more interested in the highland park parents shelling out for their kid who'll ride the bike for a month then quit. Pretty good selection of bikes for having a small location. From over-hearing their employees they know their stuff and offer great maintenance if you don't know what you're doing. This has been my local bike store for years now. I've bought 3 bikes for myself (road, cyclocross, and mountain) and a hybrid bike for my wife from this location. They carry major brands like Trek and Cannondale and also more boutique brands like Colnago (Italian) and BMC (Swiss). Definitely more roadie bikes here vs. MTB. When I bought my road bike, I worked with the Manager Armando to test ride about half a dozen bikes over the course of about a week. Once I picked the bike (a BMC Teammachine slr01), they then helped to do a basic fit for me. The main reason I continue to go back to this store is because I always see the same familiar faces working the front of the store and the service department. Many of the guys are on a first name basis with me. Their turnover is surprisingly low which is great for loyal customers like me. The service department has been great. I've serviced all my bikes there for all types of things: cable adjustments, filling my tubeless tires, upgrading components, and most recently a cracked carbon fiber frame. These guys know their way around bikes and offer solid service. Every time, my bikes come out of the store riding better. Pricing is not bad, but not great (probably a lot to do with the wealthy clientele that lives around the shop in Highland Park and University Park). Considering I've bought 4 bikes, I really haven't gotten huge discounts, but prices have been fair. If you are looking for discounts, wait until they put their rental fleets on sale.
