Was hoping for some good Mac and Cheese but it was absolutely horrible the worst I have ever had! The Chicken strips are really good. My kids got breakfast food pancakes were overdone and sausage patty was really dry. My wife had a ham and cheese which was ok but bread was burnt. She did like the sweet potato fries but wished they had a dip for them. The only reason I didn't give this a one was because our waitresses were very very polite and sweet to my kids! I will attached picture and yes the Mac and cheese it's elbow noodles (really over cooked) plain with shredded cheese on top. read more

I really wanted to give this place a chance after reading the reviews. If you're hungry, find somewhere else to eat. The wait time for food was on the longer side but not unexpected since they were busy. I ordered an eggs Benedict with over medium eggs. What I got was a Blue Ridge Benedict with over easy eggs (sausage covered in sausage gravy). They did at least take it off of the ticket. read more

We came for a late breakfast. Only reason for 4 stars is the staff seem to be masters at ignoring people when they walk in the door. You stand in the back of the restaurant behind a sign asking you to wait to be seated after you walk in. The staff initially states "we'll be with you in a moment" and then maybe 10 minutes later you are directed to walk to a table that is still dirty and you stand there while they wipe it (not clean, wipe). The hubby and I are pretty adventurous though and we've eaten at worse, so we stayed. After the initial "greeting", everything went really well. Food was delicious and coffee was good (I don't say that lightly, it really was). Delivered quickly, and service was friendly. A very basic cafe with mediocre service and lackluster menu. Seems to thrive on local business because it is likely one of the only breakfast places in the area with no real need to rise above their mediocrity. Grits were not cooked well, hash browns were dry, and the coffee was weak and bitter. We ordered pancakes and had to ask the waitress for syrup when it should have been included. The employees are wonderful - super sweet, yet not really attentive when it comes to checking on guests for refills and what not. My boyfriend ordered a bacon, egg, & cheese sandwich and i ordered the trainer's omelette. My boyfriend noticed an odd texture from his bacon and that it didn't taste right. Maybe an hour later, he fell ill from awful food poisoning. I would be weary of consuming meat, just make sure it is fully cooked and not expired or anything because i wouldn't wish this food poisoning on anyone. read more

The establishment itself was fine, about what you would expect from a small, local breakfast place. The food itself, was a different story. We ordered an omelette, grits, French toast, home style fries, and blue ridge Benedict special. While (some of) the food was manageable, that's certainly not the adjective you aspire for when selecting a restaurant. The creamer was also expired. We stopped here for lunch while visiting the area and we always try and support the locally owned places (many times you find a fantastic place). I had the Hot Turkey Sub and my wife had the BLT. My sub had 4 turkey deli slices with cheeses on a large Hogie bun. That was it!!! Had I paid $3, I would have expected it, but for $9.75, I was very disappointed. My wife's BLT was average and must be the thing to order as two other tables ordered the same thing //not an endorsement//. After a time of waiting for silverware , I just got up to get my own. Waited almost 30 minutes for a table, and finally walked in and one had been available the entire time. Was completely understaffed, and we waited almost AN HOUR for our food. Really disappointed!! I read the reviews and was excited to try this place, but was soul crushingly saddened by the whole experience. The service was kinda crappy. Their was no pepper on the table and after waiting for 15 min to get some I finally got up and took it off an empty table. The country fried steak was burnt and crispy! Very hard to eat. Wow i dont know how this place is still Open. And there is no way there should ever be a repeat customer. Went for breakfast family of 4 over $50 gor bacon eggs and pancakes. Bacon tasted funny not really cooked. Butter was like water in little packets all hot. Kids could not eat their pancakes because of the butter. The guy serving us seemed lost. Maybe it was his first day. When we were finished had to wait 15 minutes for the check. So many good places to eat in Blue Ridge use yelp or go to McDonalds at least better value and quality of food. i havent been able to eat eggs and bacon since i was here. Several friends and I had just finished a great weekend in a cabin in Blue Ridge. We were preparing to head back to Metro Atlanta, but of course we were hungry. Our first stop was to a waffle house want to be on the the main strip, we walked in and wasn't greeted and everyone looked at us like we were axe murders. One of the guys in our group struck up a conversation with a gentleman who suggested Bumblee Bee's. Let me just say this, this couldn't have been a better suggestion. When we opened the door we were greeted as if we were lost sons coming home to momma's house. The wait staff and service was top notch. I live in NYC and I know good service, but this was GREAT. To make things better the food was impeccable. Every plate on the table was cleaned of food. The co-owner told my friend if he didn't like the food he ordered he would prepare him something else. (Who says this?). Needless to say my friend devoured the pork chop. We are planning another trip to Blue Ridge and I can assure you Bumble Bees will be on the the list of places to visit for a great meal and friendly service. read more

Order placed - four people and all we ordered was an omelet, biscuits with gravy and one single biscuit on the side. WAITED OVER AN HOUR for food.... should have left - really that is ridiculous. Food was just that. Small 9" omelet folded in half - nothing else on the plate. Two pretty tasteless biscuits and so so gravy. Don't bother - there are other places in Blue Ridge to dine. read more

TL;DR; Staff is friendly food is "meh", food nothing great but not horrible. Ambiance: Cute place, decorated like a Martha Stewart home. Service: Very good, attentive and friendly. Food: French Toast: Childrens order is expensive for what it is, but I guess my kids don't care when they have syrup available. Was a bit bland in my book. Also noticed that a single pancake goes for $3.50 on the children's menu. Bit of a hard pill to swallow when I get them for a dollar down in Canton at the Keithsburg Cafe and from what I can tell based on the plates I saw, are larger. Eggs Florentine: Bland would be an accurate description, must have forgotten to season them. No complaints on the poached eggs like other reviewers, mine were fine. I would echo the sentiments of the other reviewers on the hollandaise, thick and goopy and pretty much no flavor. Tomatoes were a bit odd on the plate too, just large chunks of raw tomato that didn't seem to add to the dish. Had they cooked them a bit with the spinach to warm them I think I might have thought differently. Had a side of the crowder peas, needed salt or salt bacon, or just something with a bit of flavor. I make those better at home. Chicken Fried Steak: Best thing on the menu. Had a decent white gravy that they actually seasoned so it was nice to eat something that had some salt and pepper in it. Probably would order this next time and split it with someone at the table as it is a decent sized portion. Fried okra side is just your standard breaded frozen okra deep fried. Summary: Cute, bit expensive for under seasoned food. I don't need them to dump the salt factory on it, but a little something to bring out the flavor would be nice. Need to rework the hollandaise. I could have probably added a bit of salt to my dish considering it was on the table, but for some reason it just doesn't taste the same when it is added on the plate. Or maybe that is just how I rationalize being too lazy to reach for it. You decide. read more

"Lackluster" is the way to describe the food. I second an earlier review that the poached eggs on eggs Benedict were about 30 seconds from being hard boiled-no yolk ran when I opened them. The Ham was way too thick and salty so flavors were way off, And the hollandaise was most definitely packaged - and super thick and goopy. I would not come back for the food. The potatoes were overlooked and too salty. The biscuits and gravy also seemed packaged. If it wasn't packaged gravy, then it needs a lot of work. Either way, not good. On the positive side, the restaurant is cute and clean. But unless the food improves dramatically I don't know how people make a second trip. read more

Our family of 5 was looking for a good breakfast this morning. We found it!! Everyone LOVED their food. My wife and I shared the Extreme Omelette, which was great - bacon, sausage, spinach, onions, hash browns, cheese.... Outstanding. 2 daughters had eggs, grits, bacon. It's quite obvious it helps to be a local. Several tables were seated well after us, but were done eating or more than halfway through their meal before we got ours. Without any exaggeration it took almost exactly one hour from the time we sat down to get our food. It was not worth the wait. "Poached" eggs on eggs Benedict were 34 seconds from being hardboiled. The rest of our large table reported no better than I-Hop quality. Barely decent food and unforgivably bad service means no more. Clearly a local would get better service and I hope for their sake better food. read more

I love a restaurant where not only is the food great but the service matches and Bumblebees Cafe definitely did that. My order was simple...Belgian Waffle and Sausage and Raspberry Hot tea but my 6 friends that I was with had varying complicated orders and the waitress handled everything smoothly and with a smile and she was knowledgeable, informative, pleasant and accommodating as was the gentleman who we later found out that he and his mother were co-owners in the restaurant. You can tell that they take pride in their business. The only complaint that I would have (which is not a complaint at all) is that they need a bigger sign because had the place not been recommended to us we never would have known it was there... Whenever my friends and I are in the area Bumblebees will definitely be on our must visit list...THANK YOU for the AWESOME hospitality and FANTASTIC food!!! read more

Decided to try out Bumble Bee's cafe after driving by it for almost a year as today I woke up not in the mood to cook breakfast . Bottom line: Breakfast was what I expected, decor is adorable, but make sure you are in no rush to get anywhere. We sat for over an hour waiting for our food and it wasn't even half way full. A little more detail for those that like that kind of thing: We were taken to a table immediately and the hostess brought us coffee. Our waitress was busy with a large table of 8 and after 10 minutes of not being greeted we finally asked the hostess to take our order (we saw two tables who had come in after us have their orders taken by her). My husband and I both ordered omelets and had coffee. The coffee was excellent, the omelets were pretty good (Mushroom Swiss beat out the Ham and Cheese) and sides ok (toast was warmish, fruit was freshish and grits were good after adding salt and a little butter). We had to ask for coffee and water refills. The only time we saw our waitress was when she brought us the check (the hostess brought our food and refilled our coffee). read more

First off, service and treatment was outstanding. It is a great feeling to be served well by a courteous and conscientious staff. Add to that finding an excellent small business to support. The food was good even though you could nitpick. I would start by observing this is a place I would come back to. That said, the biscuits were pretty dense and the eggs were a bit greasy. I would trade perfect biscuits for eating somewhere the people care, keep things clean and treat you like a human being. Overall a solid and well earned four stars. We've been coming to Blue Ridge for years but only recently found this place. The first visit was pretty good, the second a little less so. The food is adequate but not necessarily something to write home about. The real issue is the speed of service as many reviewers have mentioned. They are certainly friendly but the service is slow by any restaurant's standards even when the place is half full. Some of the problems are down to a slow kitchen but the servers themselves could use a poke too. They are slow to take orders and go AWOL for long periods which makes it hard to pay and get out. Even simple stuff seems to pass them by. For example today I asked for ketchup for my omelette. Five mins go by with no ketchup in sight. When I finally chased the server down she smiled and reassured me she had not forgotten about me but needed to take some more orders first. I'm really not a fussy person and respect servers whenever I can. The girls here though are from a different planet altogether. Too bad, the place is a charming little hole in the wall and worth a visit otherwise. read more

The food was great. The home fries are a must have. Well seasoned potatoes with onions, mushrooms, and peppers. The grilled pork chop was great to. Very flavorful and moist. The French toast was had a great cinnamon flavor but not over powering. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The gentleman that co-owns the restaurant personally checked on each table.
