Husband and I visited from Florida about two weeks ago. Came in for breakfast on Saturday morning around 10am. Both my husband and I ordered a plate of two eggs, homestyle potatoes, bacon/sausage and pancakes. The food was nothing fancy, good in a "homey" type way. I could taste the quality of the ingredients so I appreciated that. Couple complaints is that it seemed disorganized and a tad hectic- not enough staff it seemed like. I could see customers around me getting angsty, looking around for a waitress to come help them. I saw one guy even chase a waitress down for some ketchup (after his breakfast sat for 10 min waiting for someone to check up). Customers having to get up and ask for their bill so they could leave. It was very difficult to flag someone down for service. The staff was all nice, & I understand if they're short staffed but it does not leave a good impression. We were about to leave after waiting over 30 min but our food came out as soon as we decided. Next, the pancakes, I only ate the top of it because the bottom was burnt. Of course the burnt side was served facing down, I'm assuming to hide it. The pancakes were also very doughy and thick, not my favorite. We dined in on a Tuesday morning and it was not busy... they only had two other couples in the restaurant. Server was nice, food was quick and tasty, but I gave 2 stars because it bothered me that the servers and cooks were not wearing masks. I work in the service industry and have to wear a mask the entire time I'm working which is normally 8-10 hours a day so it's really not hard to protect your guests and staff. I noticed Georgia doesn't seem to take this pandemic very seriously so just wanted to write this review in case someone was considering dining here and wants to know how safe it is. I will not be going back here, the food wasn't worth it. Highly recommend the trailer drive in, yes it's not a sit down table service restaurant but they wear masks and the food is much better. read more

I had visited this restaurant a couple of years ago and it was great. However, this time it was beyond terrible . Even though there was a sign stating " low staff but eager to serve you "... I figured I would still give it a go . There was only 3 other tables being served it still took us 20 minutes to get our drinks , one sever had to remind the other service . Our food finally came ... the bacon was chewy and not edible, the sausage was pink and eggs were undercooked . When I checked out I informed the waitress of all the above and let her know I didn't want any money back but thought the kitchen staff should know . She was hateful and stated i should have let her know beforehand so she could make it right . It had already taken so much time ( 1.5 hrs total , with no wait ) I didn't want to take much more time . I left a cash tip on the table and she followed me out into the parking lot and told me it was " Insulting " to leave such a small tip and gave it back to me . Very disappointed and will not be back . Was hopeful of the same great service I had several years ago, but that wasn't the case . read more

The food was delicious. The home fries were very good. I also really enjoyed the pancake. I was very surprised that you can have a pancake as your bread choice with any entrée. I guess I keep going back here because it's about the only breakfast place in Blue Ridge other than McDonalds. The staff is friendly, the restaurant is clean but the prices are very high and the portions are very small. Had the western omelette today...I could have put the whole omelette in the little tiny pocket of my gym shorts. The pancake was over cooked and the coffee is pretty weak. No staff member is wearing a mask and there are not appropriate distances between tables. Coffee was watery. The cheese and sausage omelet was pretty good but the sausage was dry. My husband and I stopped here for a takeout breakfast! He had pancakes and Blue Ridge Benedict with home fries. I had a Vegetarian omelette and side of Corned Beef Hash!!! Everything was absolutely delicious!!! He woke up before me the next morning to finish his leftovers and said everything was just as good as the first day! I had no leftovers! I got the special which was chopped steak and three sides. Not my favorite rendition of chopped steak. steak was a little undercooked and served with onions. Waitress did not ask how I wanted it cooked or mention the onions. Sides were much better. Sweet potato fries were the hit of the meal. Green beans were good. Mashed potatoes had a strange tang to them maybe sour cream? Not bad just different. Wife's chicken salad sand wick was very good. Service was fast and attentive. Dirty tables everywhere. Stood at hostess stand for 15 minutes waiting. Then we were told to "write or name down on the wait list!" We continued to wait another 10 minutes with no one calling us to a table. We noticed that there was one waitress and her two children waiting on tables. One child was not any older that 8! We called ahead for a group of 12 on a Sunday morning, and they told us it would be an hour wait. We decided to go and they actually seated us much faster than that. The breakfast menu is large and pleasantly cheap (for example, $3.50 for a grilled cheese and sweet potato fries). Service was solid also, even though it was crowded. The odd thing is that the large streetside sign has no mention of Bumblebee's. Just look for the "Café" sign in bright yellow. It is across the street from Ingles. read more

Stopped in on the way to a rafting trip. Convenient off of 515, easy in, easy out... Had the chicken fried steak and eggs, pretty good. DH had the standard eggs with sausage, pretty average fare. The boy had bacon pancakes with a side of bacon. The pancakes were good, a little on dry side, but not bad. The side of bacon however was too salty, almost inedible. This is a travesty. Pretty cute little breakfast spot right off the main road in Blue Ridge. They have just about anything you would want for breakfast. Very diner-like. It's a great atmosphere because it feels like you're in someone's home when you walk in- lift wood floors and pretty simple decor, lots of space and very well lit area. I stopped in on Sunday at around 11am with a group of 6 people and was greeted warmly and seated right away. There were a lot of open tables and the restaurant didn't have a lot of people inside. Upon being seated, they brought us all waters and took our drink orders, then food orders. We all ordered pretty quickly. I asked for the 2 eggs any style with egg whites only and a cup of oatmeal. My meal tasted good, however I just want to comment on the fact that I was served literally just the 2 egg whites and nothing else. Which is basically a 2-bite amount of eggs. I understand that's what I asked for but I found it very odd that they wouldn't have just thrown in a little more egg whites. You can see in the pic. Anyways I went ahead and asked for another whole egg and it never came out at all. I feel like I personally didn't experience the best breakfast but everyone else in my group did! No other complaints. Everyone seemed to be very satisfied by their meals. Just wanted to hilight mine because I thought it was not handled very well. Wife order the Vegetarian Omelet (onions, spinach, tomatoes, mushrooms n cheese) with a side of home made potatoes n a biscuit. I had Chicken Tenders with Sweet Potato Fries n Green Beans + a biscuit. The food was healthy n taste OK. The service was excellent n helpful with advise of their cooking. Now I have read some of the reviews n We knew that this is NOT a FAST FOOD PLACE. So take is in consideration n enjoy the time knowing that the food is cooking from scratch. We really wanted this to be a great breakfast after reading a few positive reviews. Decor was cute and service was good but burnt toast on two plates and watery grits didn't seem worth it. No self respecting Southerner would tolerate tasteless grits made without cream , butter, salt or TLC. My daughter had a pancake that was very good though and our server was very kind and attentive.
