The kids & I enjoyed the experience from start to finish. To walk in and see their names in a sign was such a delight. Front desk staff is friendly, quick, & professional. After signing some things on a tablet, the kids were brought right in. It was five children, so they took up all five seats in the room . The dental hygienists were sweet & did a great job making the kids feel comfortable; even my 3 year old. The dentist was just as great. I totally thought we would be there for at least two hours between sign-in, five X-rays, five cleaning, five exams, & check-out, but they are so efficient and with their work "flow", we were in and out within an hour and five minutes. The place is clean and decorated nicely. My girls loved the sparkly wall up front & my toddler was LOVING the painted teeth on the walls. Super cute. Highly recommend.

Hello, I am reaching out regarding my 4-year-old son's…read moredental cap appointment on Tuesday, August 4, because, despite multiple attempts to contact your office directly since the visit, I have been unable to get a response. My son is 4 years old. He was given the Benadryl/diazepam oral sedation mixture but spit it out because he did not like the taste. Rather than allowing additional time to work with him, we were repeatedly told that we were running out of time, including being told that we only had 15 minutes remaining. The interaction felt very rushed and pressured. When he would not take the medication, staff then suggested that my husband hold our 4-year-old son down while they squirted the medication into his mouth. My husband declined because we were not comfortable with that approach to administering medication to our child. We ultimately left without the sedation being successfully completed and without the dental procedure being performed. There was also a concerning medication communication issue during the visit. We were initially told that our son would be receiving Demerol, and only after I questioned this were we told that staff meant diazepam. I am a nurse, and I was particularly concerned to hear that an opioid medication was being referenced as the intended medication for my 4-year-old. Demerol is a medication I am very familiar with through my work in oncology, so hearing one medication and then being told that a different medication was actually intended was concerning, regardless of whether this was a verbal mistake. What is particularly frustrating is that we are now being charged $475 for this visit -- a $100 deposit that was retained, plus an additional $375 charge. My understanding is that the additional $375 charge was because my son spit out the oral sedation. The dental procedure itself was never performed. I am not asking for anything unreasonable. I simply want a clear, itemized breakdown of the $475 we have been charged. I would like to know exactly what each charge represents and what services were actually provided for those charges, including whether they are for medication, staff time, a facility fee, or something else. I would also like copies of all paperwork signed during the visit, including consent forms, treatment forms, and financial/payment agreements, as we were not provided copies at the time. Please also clarify how the $475 already paid/charged will be handled given that my son's dental caps still need to be placed. At this point, based on our experience, we do not feel comfortable returning to the practice for his future dental care, so I would also like clarification regarding any amount that should be refunded or otherwise applied. I have now called the office twice and left two voicemails, and I have also submitted two inquiries requesting a response. I have received no call back or other response, and I have not been provided with an email address through which I can communicate with the office. I am therefore contacting you through Yelp as a last resort simply because I have been unable to get anyone from the office to respond. I would appreciate a written response addressing the $475 charge, the requested itemized breakdown, the paperwork from the August 4 visit, and how the amount already paid will be handled. Thank you, Stephanie

He still screamed but the dentist and assistant were fast and efficient. Since it was his first appointment, they just brushed and examined his teeth and went over any concerns. I also appreciated the lack of judgment or inquiry regarding my desire to decline the fluoride treatment. They just said "no problem" and moved on. Scheduling is via phone (I do prefer online but it's okay). They still made the process fairly simple. They also were understanding when I had to initially cancel at the last minute due to my son running a fever. They were really transparent and communicative regarding costs. They contacted me in advance to give me the exact co-pay amount. That's awesome and honestly rare. Everyone is super nice here. Dentist, dental assistant, front desk staff. Friendly and easy to talk to. They even gave me a little pot with daisy seeds because it was Mother's Day weekend. So sweet. There's also a cute play area for kids in front of reception. No issue finding parking close to the front door.

Been taking both kids to Little Smiles since they were in elementary school. Due to not being in network for my insurance, our last appt in January 2024, we were told and shown that our daughter had 5 cavities and the estimate would run around $1500. Dr. Jenny jokingly asked, "Do you drink Starbucks drinks because if so, we tend to see cavities in teens due to sugary drink consumption." I sought a 2nd opinion at my adult dentist knowing the cost to get them addressed would be lower, given they are in network since Little Smiles is not in network for us. To my surprise, x-ray films sent over and evaluated by my adult dentist discovered that my daughter had NO evidence of ANY cavities whatsoever--nor the beginnings of ANY cavities. In shock, I asked if they were certain. A second set of x-rays were taken to confirm and ease my mind. Again, ZERO cavities. Had I not sought their care to reduce cost, my daughter's beautiful adult teeth would have been drilled and modified for no reason. I warn everyone as I too had been warned that dentistry can be notorious for recommending unnecessary treatment to make a profit. My daughter had a friend who experienced something similar from Little Smiles. Unfortunately, this discovery ended my respect and my relationship at Little Smiles Dentistry in Cedar Park. They have a fun office with friendly staff and all but sometimes that can cover up lucrative practices if you as a consumer are not vigilant. I'm fortunate that my circumstances resulted in preventing unnecessary dental work for my daughter's adult teeth. We go twice per year for regular checkups and the next checkups at our adult dentist confirmed--STILL ZERO cavities whatsoever this past January 2025. Both of my daughters have been cavity free their entire lives so far and we hope to keep it that way. My advice, get a 2nd opinion if you have the time especially when it involves your child's permanent teeth.

I originally took my son to Dr. Vasut for a second opinion. He was recommended by a preschool teacher who had had a good experience. The dentist we had been seeing for the previous few years was proposing some drastic work to be done, including putting him under, which I did not think was necessary considering his demeanor and ability to cooperate. From the moment we walked in the door at Cedar Park Pediatric Dentistry, the staff was friendly and welcoming. Dr. Vasut spent time talking with, listening and getting to know my son before ever looking in his mouth. He reviewed the X-rays we had brought with us (didn't request that we retake X-rays on his machines.) He spent time listening to my rendition of the other dentist's prognosis after giving his opinion. The verdict was that my son did not need the level of work that the other dentist had proposed, nor would he need sedation for a cavity. Of course I was relieved that his professional opinion agreed with my gut feel. I was extremely impressed by how he interacted with me and my son. We immediately switched to Dr. Vasut. I have recommended him multiple times to friends and have only heard good experiences. One of my friends had done the whole braces routine with one child, has a non-brusher for her other child and she continues to love Dr. Vasut and recommend him! We have been through many cavities (my son was prone to them with his baby teeth), Dr. Vasut and staff have always been firm in reinforcing the hygiene without shaming or being mean. We have watched difficult baby teeth that are in the way of the adult teeth and determined whether to pull or not. (One my son was able to work out the other we pulled a year later before it became a real issue. The root on the second one was 2/3 the length of the tooth!) My daughter goes to Dr. Vasut too and really likes him. She has had less challenging teeth, so there are less interesting stories for her... It is never a battle to get my kids to the dentist office. Both kids like the games in the waiting room, the coin rewards and putting their name in the trout! We are in the middle of doing braces on my son. The timelines and steps have been clearly communicated. Billing has been efficient and straight forward. The office is always clean and welcoming. The appointments are timely and efficient, rarely have we had to wait after our appointment time, and often they have taken the kids early if we are there. The front desk staff is welcoming and wonderful at working to schedule kids together for multiple appointments (like cleanings with braces checks). I am very thankful that we have found this group and appreciative of their ongoing hard work.
