Martha was great with explaining how everything worked and talked me off the ledge more than once during the process. After submitting online for a quote, Bunker Hill was the fastest of all the companies to respond with an estimate and Marcos called me immediately to discuss my move (all the very same day). He was so professional and really put my mind at ease about the move. Joanie was wonderful and very professional in dealing with my questions and requests. On moving day, there were some issues with the attitude, work ethic, and overall quality of a couple of the moving men. While at first I was very upset, I did not take the time to call and speak to Joanie or Marcos about it. Not long after, I received a follow up call from Joanie, who was very upset about the experience we had had with two of the moving men, and informed me that they take this very seriously and wanted to rectify the situation, and had I called that day to tell them about the problems, those employees would have been dealt with immediately. Joanie let me know that those men are no longer working with the company, that they would have been terminated as soon as they knew about our problems with them, and that they go out of their way to hire the very best movers they can find. I must say that even though there were some issues with the movers themselves, this company is a class act and those couple of guys are definitely not the company standard for employees! I very pleased with my recent experience using Bunker Hill Moving to move a very large king bedroom set for me. Joanie and Martha are professional and responsive in the office and Marcos and his team are professional and attentive to detail on the site. I did not use their services but I want to comment on the character of the owners and their employees. I lost my work laptop, left on the roof of my car, somewhere from my home and my destination. Marcos, owner, and his crew had stopped and found my computer in the middle of the night in the street and had returned it to me. The honesty and integrity of the people working here is apparent! One of the best moving companies I have ever used! My husband and I used this company in June for our move. We only had to move about 2 miles away, but they were more then accommodating. They even provided us with storage in their vehicles over night as we were unable to complete the move in one day. During the move they were very diligent about wrapping and taping EVERYTHING in our home to make sure there would be no damage during the move. And when we arrived at the new house, we had some difficulties getting certain pieces of furniture into our bedroom and basement, Marcos himself (the owner) would not rest until these pieces made it into the rooms they needed to be in with no damage to the items or the walls of the house. I think the owner of this company is an honest man and really cares about his customers and his business. The price they offered was very competitive! The customer service was very good when I called for moving service and I got the quote promptly. The movers showed up on time and took care in wrapping and protecting my furniture. I had some issues with the moving and they were resolved quickly by the owner. If you need bags to protect your mattress or tapes, better buy them yourself, they charge $10 for a bag and $3 for a roll of tape. read more

AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE. STANDS OUT IN EVERY ASPECT. We met Bunker Hill Moving folk by chance at a storage unit in Boston on a hot July day as we helped a friend move. Even though our friend was moving DIY, Bunker Hill pitched in as we were loading the last of her stuff from the dock to the car. We snapped a pic of their truck even though we had no plans to move at that time, just in case... Fast forward 7 months and we were now the ones moving. Of course we called Bunker Hill Moving immediately. That morning of the move in February 2016 was a record breaking 5 degrees below zero. Their truck has issues due to the cold- that didn't stop them though! They rented a truck and showed up to move us!!! They even brought an extra guy to make up for the slight delay caused by the mechanical issues. We have used them one additional time since that move and they were just as amazing during that move. I read all the reviews that were posted here about the Bunker Hill Moving Company and thought it was good. However, I was very disappointed. First, the movers were 30 minutes late on the moving day. The new place I moved to had a strict timeframe about when the movers could come. I had to call them to find out why the movers hadn't arrived. Second, I labeled the furniture that needed to be wrapped and told the head of the movers, but he and his team didn't even bother to look and didn't wrap most of the labeled furnitures. Third, they broke several pieces of my furniture. Reported the damages to them. They didn't return your call or email until two weeks later. They said they would fix them. A week later, they told me that they couldn't fix them. I asked for the damaged furniture back, because they mean a lot to me. Once again, they didn't respond to your request until another week later. When they brought them back (didn't show up the first time and didn't even bother to call to let me know), there were more damages than before. Although the insurance did cover the damaged furniture, I still think that this company is not professional at all. read more

I just moved and was reluctant to hire movers because of terrible experiences I have had in the past. We did much of the move ourselves, but needed help with the furniture. Bunker Hill did a great job. They were careful with our furniture, friendly, and very dedicated to customer service. The men worked very hard and did not complain at all about carrying heavy furniture up several flights of stairs. I felt like they really cared about my business and the work they were doing. I had an incredible experience working with Bunker HIll Moving. Joanie was the customer service representative that booked my move. She was very infomrative, nice, and made you feel like it wasn't a "cookie cutter" moving company. The follow-up on the estimate and details were very appreciated. Other companies that I got estimates from weren't as forthright in their pricing. As for the move, they called the day before to confirm and on moving day they were right on time. The team of 3 guys was led by Marco who was very interested in the customer service from his crew. They packed everything with care - lots of wrapping on furniture (which was great since it was raining). I moved about 30 miles away and they just packed up the truck and got in and continued the move. They ran into some pitfalls getting our furniture upstairs. They had to remove a railing, and door while adjusting an air conditioner to get our oversized furniture in. They tried everything, did the job, and didn't complain. All in all, a great group of hard working guys. I told them they saved my marriage - since doing this ourselves would have been traumatic. Instead we had an easy pleasant experience. This was my first experience with hiring a moving company. In fact the last time I moved was 30 years ago. In the past I've always moved myself but this time the job was too big for a DIY adventure so I made a decision to go with a moving company. My brother recently moved and used Bunker Hill Moving and recommended them to me. I gave them a call and requested a quote Joanie and Marcos were great to deal with. They came over to the house first and sized up the job. I had my quote within a day. I only got one other competitive quote but it was a higher and they took forever getting it to me. I can't emphasize enough how patient and understanding Joanie and Martha were throughout the quoting process. Never once did I feel pressured only valued as a customer which is how it should be. They made me feel confident that they could do a good job and at the right price. I have no regrets about my decision to hire Bunker Hill Moving. Only praise. The move went fantastically. Marcos and his crew prepared and loaded their two moving vans like a well-oiled machine. The crew not only worked unbelievably hard but also took pride in their work and paid attention to detail every step of the way. Do not use this company!!! We had them come out and give us a quote and then spoke to them the next day. The owner refused to honor the quote even though he sent his man out here to give us one. It is such and an easy job, We are having our floors sanded and needed someone to take out about 15 pieces of furniture and put it into our attached garage. About and hours worth of work. No truck would be needed. Then they were due to come back in one week and put the furniture back. We are extremely upset that they would not honor the price that THEIR man gave us. From the first call to Martha to set up an in-house estimate at our home in Scituate to the delivery to our new home in Yarmouth, Maine today, the experience was positive. One reason for this decision was that I could not find a negative customer review. Another reason was the professionalism demonstrated by Joanie, the customer service representative. She described the owner (Marco) as the backbone of the company, the guy who anticipates and takes care of every detail. "When he shows up on the day of the move, you know everything is going to go smoothly," Joanie told me. It's such a great line to use when trying to win over a potential customer. It also happens to be true!. It's hard to imagine how the move could have gone more smoothly. Not only is Marco a standup guy, but he runs the business like a well-oiled machine. Hard-working, conscientious, thoughtful, knowledgeable, honest, and he has such a positive attitude. This guy really knows what he is doing, and he instills the same work ethic in his workers. I tried to help move furniture into the new house and the workers would have none of it! In the end, the only thing that was damaged was one glass - which is pretty impressive given the quantity of items moved. I just used Bunker Hill to move across town. The whole experience from the time I requested a quote was excellent. The quote was very competitive and so we chose to use them. They showed up on time and got our move completed in about five hours start to finish. The crew of Julio, Miguel and Keith was very hard working and well organized. Did I mention it poured rain the whole time? None of our stuff got wet or damaged, and all our furniture and belongings would up where we wanted them. In late November 2014, we were moving from Quincy to Plymouth. We hadn't moved in many years and didnt know who to call but after researching as best we could we called Bunker Hill Movers. The nicest man came over within a day and walked through our home making an extensive list of everything that was to be moved. In addition because of closing and buying times we needed them to hold the furniture overnight. We were provided with a list of our furniture to be moved and a quote. On the day of the move they showed up first thing in the morning and carefully packed up things that we weren't able to pack and loaded the truck. They also had plenty of extra supplies I was able to purchase to finish up packing some items too. On the next day they met us right on the agreed time at our new home and carefull unpacked and placed our furniture where we wanted it. After UHaul bailed last minute on my Sept 1 move, I called Bunker Hill because they were the highest rated on Yelp. Not only did they squeeze me in during the busiest weekend of the year, there prices were better than Uhaul and several other companies I spoke with. Martha was wonderful to work with over the phone, and when Juan, Julio, and Bautista arrived they worked their butts off. I was on the third floor of a 3-store walk up with a really tricky stair way, and they had no problem getting any of my furniture down (I have seen roommates move with other companies or with their families, and face a LOT of problems on this stairwell). Not only did they do a fantastic job, they barely rested. I actually had to tell them to stop and drink some cold water! The next day, someone asked me how my move went, and I said delightful -- who ever heard of a delightful move!? I don't review often on yelp, but I so highly recommend this company, I couldn't help myself. read more
