I don't know how anyone can say anything negative about this organization and the staff - thank God BunnyLuv exists! They rescue bunnies from high kill shelters - as anybody who has been to any LA animal shelters knows, there are tons of bunnies and guinea pigs bc unfortunately people buy them for their kids, realize they're too high maintenance and then dump them at the shelters. We came across BunnyLuv bc we unfortunately had our 9 year old angora lionhead bun lose mobility so we brought our boy in. The wonderful lady who runs BunnyLuv looked over our boy, gave us her opinion, gave him some painkillers and told us to take him to a vet (even providing a list of local vets experienced with rabbits since they are considered "exotics"). We brought our boy back for a grooming appt and the lovely gentleman groomer gave us some valuable advice on his care after the grooming appt. While we waited we also toured their back room with all the adorable babies who are looking for homes, along with a few Guinea pigs they took in from a local animal shelter. The bunnies and guinea pigs were all well taken care with ample room (bunnies need a 4' x 4' space). Their pens were clean, the animals were super friendly (a sign they have been handled well) and for grooming services their prices are more than reasonable. I took my rabbits there for a nail trim. The volunteer had both of them on their back instead of being held upright. Rabbits should not be placed on their backs as it can cause them to enter a state of tonic immobility. I didn't want to step on anyone's toes but both were visibly stressed. Please keep rabbits upright when you're grooming them. Ideally this is a two-person job. Have someone hold it while the other person does the grooming (i.e. nail trim, cleaning scent glands). read more

We came in on a very busy day, which we absolutely acknowledge however, what happened after was totally unacceptable. We've been waiting for about 20 minutes when someone asked us which hay we wanted and we said we wanted the Orchard.. then the girl next to us who had a shown up after we did decided she also would like Orchard hay for her rabbit. Unfortunately, they only had 120 pound bag so the guy that had no sense of urgency that had just been kind of floating around this entire time running the front desk suggested that we each take a 10 pound bag and then come back another day.. i'm very upset because that was absolutely unfair. Our rabbit is almost out of hay completely and he had no right to put us on the spot about this particular situation. What he should've done is given us the hay since we ordered first, and then if we wanted to share or were in the position to share, then we could've offered it to the girl next to us, but to preemptively give everybody half was just not right and completely waste our time. In addition, we got a cardboard bunny tunnel, which was filled with silverfish which are intrusive species so it makes me wonder about the cleanliness of the place.. the owner absolutely saw nothing wrong with this situation and seem to be more interested in all the business that was coming in than doing what was right in the first place. read more

Before I got my lop, I tried to adopt online from this shelter now having been in person, I don't understand why this is even considered a shelter rather than just a lady who hordes rabbits in a place she calls a business. This place is utterly disgusting. The rabbits are packed side-by-side with barely any space to hop around. All of their litter boxes are full. There are at least 40 rabbits in this tiny room. This is borderline animal abuse after walking around this place the lady has the audacity to offer animal boarding if I ever need it I almost laughed in her face. I'd be damned if I ever took my rabbit anywhere near this place ever again. When I tried to adopt a rabbit from the shelter, they insisted on seeing photos of my set up and even went as far as asking if they could do a home visit, it's almost as if they don't want to see the rabbits leave the shelter when I walked in the woman was holding the rabbit on its back, which anyone who know knows anything about rabbits would know that that is NOT proper rabbit care. When I dropped my rabbit off for his grooming service, she told me to come back in an hour and a half. I had lunch. I came back 30 minutes early. She had my rabbit sitting on a table as if it were a a food pick up order it took every bone in my body not to say something to that woman I then watched her set another rabbit carrier right next to mine then watch her set another rabbit carrier on the floor. This woman does not treat these animals like their animals. She treats them like they are objects and that is blatantly clear by the way, her "shelter" is set up and what would've happened if I didn't pick my rabbit up 30 minutes earlier, she had my phone number she could've called me to tell me it was ready earlier than the discussed time you're telling me my rabbit would've sat there in her hot stinky shelter for 30 minutes doing nothing didn't offer him treats or anything she is an abomination to the rabbit community and I would advise anyone with a rabbit to steer clear from her shelter!!! read more

Ok so if you are looking to get a rabbit for a pet, I can't stress enough to do your research on the best way to care for bunnies. With that being said, BunnyLuv has been a lifesaver. They know their stuff. Tim has been an amazing person to work with. He cares about all the bunnies and is a bunny person. If you are a bunny person then you understand what I mean. My daughter and I are looking forward to volunteering there. This is a rescue I am so happy to support. We took our two bunnies to BunnyLuv for bonding, because it just wasn't happening for us. Tl;dr- this place is phenomenal and you should board your buns here and support them any way you can. This is a TRULY incredible place and I can't believe it's taken me this long to write a review. Tim and Yvette along with the rest of the staff and volunteers are amazing. I've been boarding my buns with them and purchasing supplies from them for years. They truly care about the bunnies and have an exceptional fund of knowledge. Their hay and toys are top notch and I love the little bunny items (cups, towels, etc). Also- they have occasional photo shoots for the buns which is TOO CUTE. I recently ran into a really difficult situation and was lucky enough to have the team help me out by boarding my buns at very short notice. They keep a close eye on my buns and notified me multiple different ways the moment one of the buns wasn't feeling well (she's now back to her normal self!). I don't know where I would be without them. Highly, highly recommend! read more

Took my boy in for a groom/nail trim/scent gland cleaning, and the next day when I was petting him, I noticed a dent in his fur coat. Turns out someone had ripped off a chunk of his undercoat, and I could see the bare skin... wrote them an email and nobody responded or even addressed what had happened. I've been going to BunnyLuv even before they relocated to the North Hollywood location and I swear everyone of their employees and the owner are amazing. They have pretty much everything I need to take care of my bunnies (treats, toys, hay, chewables, and everything else). If I had other options of places to take my rabbit I 100% would. I hate having to deal with the old white lady who works here. When I come in and there are people around she eyeballs me. When I come in and no one is around she tacklessly rushes up to me and starts questioning everything I'm doing. Thank you for saving bunnies! I visited for the first time last Sunday to buy a 10 lb bag of timothy hay and oat hay. Tim was very nice. I asked if the bags were quality checked and he said they have 2 people that check the bags for quality. However, when I arrived home and checked the 10 lb bag of timothy hay - the hay was 99% brown and very brittle (old). Over half of the bag of oat hay was filled with a huge clump of briar patch branches with thorns (harmful to my guinea pigs). I was angry and very disappointed. It seems as if I received the 2 worst bags to clear inventory. Unfortunately, I will never return. Please continue to save beautiful, innocent bunnies. read more

I would give zero stars. I wanted to go because its helping bunnies and I want to support shelters. I found this place and it was very close to where I live. we ring the bell and his Dutch looking idiot opens the door and we walk in and we say hello like normal human beings and no one acknowledges us, they are picking up papers. Then the one picking up papers says," Can you close the door"' with attitude and we leave and close the door. My mother was not sure of coming in the first place but I assured her that how could you be rude and work with bunnies? I was proved wrong. Then I read other comments saying they are racist. There was a bunny in the front and it was probably miserable from having to deal with these people. I hope the bunnies hop away. That is no way to treat people.
