I recently visited the Prarie St. Underground food hall, and I wanted to give BunSlut a try This is a small setup. They had plenty of cooks in the "kitchen," but we didn't interact with any. You order on a kiosk. The kiosk has pictures with prices, and the prices didn't seem crazy expensive. There is a menu above the kiosks, but it is one of the worst menus I've ever seen in that the food court is intimately lit, the menu background is black, and the words on the menu are dark in color - incredibly difficult to read There didn't appear to be many people in front of us, and we ordered fries (not specialty fries) and a shake. This took close to 15-20min. It was way too long Once we got the food, we were underwhelmed with the shake, and the fries didn't represent what was shown in the picture on the kiosk. The picture showed crinkle cut fries, and that is why we ordered them... when we got the fries it wasn't crinkle cut fries Some tips: Consider eating at one of the other vendors in this food court. There's also bars to grab a beverage, and also some arcade type games to play Cheers!!

Came here because it was one of the few places open late downtown on a weekday night. I liked that you can order on a kiosk and the prices were pretty affordable. The burger itself was a bit underwhelming. It's on the greasier side and the patty itself didn't have much flavor. Can't complain too much though, it satisfied my late night cravings!

I totally recommend this place! The pictures I took did not do any justice. I'm sure there are better photos on line. The fries. Thin, crispy and flavorful. Gone in a flash! Slutty melt. So messy, so good! I could probably eat one by myself. It's not a large sandwich. Fruity pebbles shake. It's your morning bowl of cereal in shake format and the fruity pebbles are still crispy! Enjoy!

Right now, this qualifies as one of the best downtown burger joints. If you go with the basic burger, it's at a reasonable price and very delicious. The SluttyMelt I ordered was awesome and I will definitely order it again. And...who doesn't want to add a fried egg and jalapeños to make the SluttyMelt even sluttier? My daughter ordered the slutty fries and I swear she said: "Dad, these fries are better than the animal-style fries from In-n-Out." That's a tall order. She liked the fact that she had a burger patty on the top of the fries. Basically, a burger where you substitute fries for the bun. If you haven't tried the Slut, you don't know what you are missing. Wait...is that Deja vu from my high school days???

I had the pleasure of visiting last Friday for lunch and I loved it! I ordered the slutty fries that come with a patty on top. I added pickles and did not regret that decision. My Sis-in-law ordered a cheeseburger and she enjoyed her meal too. The service was quick which is helpful during a fast lunch break. We were able to walk from our buildings but there is a public lot across from Brava that you can pay to park if needed. There's limited seating so get there early!

Life took us to this location because my man loves a good burger. We live about a mile away and decided to give this place a shot for a quick lunch. Due to the location being in downtown, you know there's gonna be a struggle for parking, which we were already aware of, but I was not expecting there to be so many homeless outside the entrance this place. One of them even urinated as we crossed over to get to the spot, yum... not. Now when we get there, it is an underground location shared with several different eateries which seems like a pretty cool concept, except there were so many dirty tables and the place was just a little too grunge for me to comfortably eat. My man ordered for us while I found a place to sit. But when I came back to ask for a cup of ice, I noticed that the screens used for ordering were super filthy, the food prep area was incredibly disgusting. We were looking for a nice quick meal, but the order took well over 35 minutes to complete, and when it finally came out, the food was cold and had ingredients in there. We didn't even ask for. If you're looking for something clean, quick, and good, just head over to Shake shack for better quality, food, and service.

I was walking around the area downtown near The Underground, and a friend and I stopped in to take a look around. Because I'm not usually in this area, and unsure when/if I would be back, I decided to order something. I was already full after having eaten just earlier, so I ordered to-go. I ordered the single patty burger, and didn't actually eat it until 2 days later. Boy was I surprised. It was wayyy good! I loved that there was so many pickles on the burger. Lots of good char flavor. I didn't know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised.

I liked it! I'm not sure if the food coloring in the bun made it tougher or what, but the buns were a little chewy. Excellent fast, friendly and efficient service though - which makes it a great place to have lunch if you have to head back to work right after.

We decided to check The Underground Hall for a bite to eat after having a few cocktails in the area. This was my first time coming into the food hall since it changed from the Conservatory and I must say, the vibes are totally different now. It looks a little run down and sad down there. I knew coming in that I wanted to try BunSlut because it's been on my smash burger list for some time. They also have a few other locations around town. There was about 4-5 people working behind the counter, but it is a complete order and pay at a kiosk set up. There was no interaction with the staff, but they still put a tip option. Not a big fan of that. Once you get your food, you can take it to go or find a seat in the tiny food hall. I am a smash burger fanatic. It's my preferred way to eat a burger. What I have learned along the way is to always go with a double to really get a good taste of the burger since the patties are usually pretty thin. As far as the menu goes, you got a choice between a Single, a Double, and a Slutty Melt. I went with the Double with a side of Virgin Fries with Cajun seasoning. I wanted a water or soft drink but apparently they were fresh out of any beverages other than shakes. That seemed weird to be out of stock of canned and bottled drinks on a Saturday night. The food took awhile to come out. You had to listen carefully when they called names. They ask for your number to notify you when your food is ready but that system might've been down too because I got no text. The food looked kinda promising at first glance. It was a little on the smaller size. The bun was a little on the cold side. When you eat a smash burger, there is a little crisp expected from the patty, but Bunslut cooked the patties a little too hard. Every bite was crunchy and a little off putting. The flavor was there and the combination of the melty American cheese, sauce, caramelized onions and pickles redeemed what could have been a total bust of a meal. The fries were ok. The Cajun seasoning was just sprinkled on the top so more than half of the fries were not seasoned. Overall, my first slutty experience was not the best. I think this was one of those caught them on a bad night experience. I don't know if I'll check out this location ever again, but I might check out one of their other spots at some point.

I visited the underground location & we loved our food!!! It was such a cute place & bright colors ! The kids loved their milkshakes & we ordered two more burgers to go! Service was great!

Virgin Fries + Texas Tea Blueberry Lemonade + Double

First I want to say that parking for this location sucks. We paid about $20 to find parking to EAT HERE. This place is located in an underground hall and has other food spots around. Which makes it difficult to find seating! Think of it as a mall food court on a Saturday. But it's tiny in there and not many tables available. The place was pretty dirty, and I at no point saw anyone go by and wipe down the tables. You order your food thru a tablet which was cool and made it easy to add or subtract what you didn't want on your burger. Now I ordered at 8:06 and I didn't receive my food till 8:47. And I get that it's busy and it takes time, but when I got my food it was COLD, burger was cold, fries were cold. I also ordered a Texas sweet tea, they gave me a peach one, I went back to see if she could exchange it and she gave me a blueberry lemonade, at that point I gave up and took it. The slutty melt was pretty mid, I'd rather just go get a pattymelt from whataburger. Their fries were nothing great plus the fact that they were cold was more point off. The blueberry lemonade was cool tho. The shakes were good, but not $6-7 worth. You can easily satisfy that craving with a McFlurry. This place was terrible, and I was really looking forward to it. Don't be fooled by those instagram-esque photos cause the food doesn't really look like that. And it especially don't taste how you would expect.

Awesome addition to underground hall! I have visited their food truck location in galleria area and was stoked to hear they opened a location here. The burgers are super flavorful and the slutty fries are some of the best I've tried. The sauce definitely adds a lot of flavor. The staff worked well and we had our orders pretty quick compared to other vendors there. It's great to be able to pair with a drink at the bar area or to walk downtown after eating. Parking is the usual- metered/street parking (free after 6pm and sundays) or paid lots. Great burger place!!

I had opted for a beef burger with a side of chili cheese tater tots to share. The burger is quite large and filled generously with whatever add-ins you check off so it was very filling for me. I went with two 2oz patties, but considering the size, I'd opt for a single 2 oz patty if I go back. For my burger I also added scallion aioli which didn't have a strong green onion flavor but was still nice and added creaminess to the burger overall. The tater tots were super crispy, and the chili cheese topping was nice. I had gone shortly after they opened and it wasn't super busy but it started to quickly fill up around 11:30-12. To start off with a positive, I thought the falafel patty had a really great taste and was absolutely the highlight of the burger. But outside of that the burger and the toppings I ordered just didn't work as well as I would've liked. I ordered my burger with mushrooms and sauteed onions, both toppings I know I absolutely love from making burgers at home and from other spots, but neither added much. At first I was worried that the falafel was overpowering them both but upon eating them by themselves they just lacked taste. We also got the scallion aioli on the burger and I never got a hint of it at any point. All in all, the burger was very much mediocre outside of the patty. We also got fries with the burger and while they absolutely had some potential they were extremely over seasoned. Any appreciation for the seasonings in a vacuum was immediately overshadowed by how salty they were. We also ordered the Sambal Mayo as a dipping sauce and while it did help subdue the insane salt level and overall tasted quite good, upon writing this review I found out by looking at their online menu that it contained some amount of shrimp. This information is nowhere to be seen on the ordering slip and wasn't mentioned when I handed it over to the person working at the cash register. And while I definitely accept some level of responsibility for not doing my due diligence and asking or letting them know of my dietary restrictions, it's still an extremely frustrating thing to have happen as both a vegetarian and someone with a mild shellfish allergy. If for whatever reason the online menu is out of date or I missed an obvious indication of it containing shrimp somewhere I am more than happy to edit my review.

Everything here is a la carte but there is a combo option where you can save about $3 off the regular menu pricing. I chose the "Double Good" and added a patty for $3 more figuring the patties are most likely very thin. The burger comes with lettuce, onion tomato, pickles and special sauce. I subbed the American for Swiss, but the Swiss ended up being a Swiss-American blend, so it tasted mostly like American cheese which I hate. I keep having bad luck with Swiss lately. The patty is about 1/4 lb and tastes similar to a home cooked burger. I ended up setting the burger down and just eating the patty with a fork since I didn't like the taste of the cheese, sauce, or the entire burger as a whole after a handful of bites. A standard smashed Double cheeseburger and generous extra crispy impressively seasoned waffle fries as you want it cost $16 which is fair since adding the fries vs standalone burger is only $1 price differential. Clutch City Grill sits next to Burger Chan (the most recent title holder of best burger for my son) but this Sunday, they were not open so we tried the one we didn't try last time--CCG. And let me just say that this place tucked away inside a collective indoor food concession aka The Conservatory Galleria, has every right to boldly don the clutch city burger title. Inside this perfectly grilled almost Hawaiian role type hint of sweet homemade bun is a masterclass of burger perfection, made right in front of you and to your liking based on your selections from the order tap screens. While, waiting, I looked at everything I didn't order as it was being served and I'm almost certain that anything you order at CCG is delicious. Presentation is superb because others were sitting with large selections in front of them that caused me a bit of buyers remorse--I couldn't decide. The vibe is chill enough to talk to the grill master while my son was figuring out his massive burger order--he randomly had a hash brown added to a patty melt. And ordered something to take home or in case one order wasn't enough for the teen appetite. But the food is massive. I cannot stress that enough. Portions of everything there are beyond generous from what we saw and this is the kind of place where there's delivery guys picking up, people working on their laptops and the average joe grabbing takeout after work as well as families having dinner but not crowded. We sat and reflected on a great shopping day in a chill environment and reminisced on the old days of Galleria area last minute back to school night before/we should do this more type of memories in the making. The take something to go plus my own leftover (cutting the burger in half is an open from the order touch screen) and it passed the ultimate test of being really good cold the next day. This place begs the question--where is everybody? I can't be the only one who knows about it. But also was inviting enough to silently confirm that I think we've found our place. One that even has a cool bathroom with a mirror that says "you look amazing." Exactly how you're going to feel about the food that looks even better than it does in its promo photos
