Smoked salmon panini. Not visually stunning, but a good lunch.
    Wolf H.

I've been wanting to try this place for a long time. It's cute and has a good variety of traditional Italian dishes. I had the smoked salmon panini and my buddy had spaghetti with meatballs. The Panini was good. The French fries were very good. My friend reported that the spaghetti was disappointing. Service was excellent and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. There are not very many tables here, so plan for takeout on the busier nights. I plan to grab something and head down to Winters. Parking is easy enough and if you go for lunch it's a nice neighborhood for a walk afterward. You're just a few blocks from the seawall. Where this place can improve is by giving us a more "home cooked" touch. It's the difference between good cafeteria food and my friend's Italian Nonna making us dinner. Give us that home-cooked Italian comfort. I would have given 3 stars, but that 4th star is because the prices are a good value, and that is important nowadays. However, I would be willing to pay more for higher quality dishes. Give it a try. On my next visit, I will try the chicken piccata.

This small cafe was a huge surprise. Great selection in pasta's and dessert. You can tell the chef loves what he does and takes pride in every dish. I ordered the chef special linguine Alfredo with shrimp and a canola for dessert. The presentation was picture perfect and the taste was on point. I was impressed that such a small restaurant could cook up some quality food. Easy visit whenever I'm in Pacifica. The Salads and Paninis are also great options. Even a quick coffee as well! Arturo was great and made my day with the food they prepared. It is small so be aware with bigger groups.

8.6.26 special of the day- penned arrabatta w/ shrimp, arugula, white wine, spicy tomatoe sauce- Deeee-licous

Quaint little Italian spot tucked between a bait shop and a smash burger joint. It feels very local, with only four small tables for dine-in. They give you free bread and cheese with every pasta, and OMG--the shrimp penne special did not disappoint! The shrimp was succulent and perfectly cooked, with just the right amount to complement the pasta. The arugula & tomatoe rpunded out the dish so it does not feel like all carbs. This dish is a bit spicy if your into that. And of course, the bread was perfect for soaking up every last bit of sauce.

Omg we were so dissapointed with our food. I'm really not sure how, if you ordered the pasta, that this would be a 4 star dish when it tastes like a Stouffers TV dinner with soggy cheap noodles and weird out of the jar tasting sauce and Ikea meatballs at restaurant prices. Water is from the sink and you have to ask for ice, if not it's lukewarm. Bread is cheap and tastes like something you'd get with your airplane meal. My meat pasta tasted watery and bland and needed spices, real tomatoes, and fresh herbs or something to give it a fresher flavor instead of tasting like a cheap TV dinner. Horribly dissapointed in this place.

It was good, not great just decent, flavor profile wasn't all there, $19 isn't bad, portion was good. I'd go back but not for the carbonara. I will say I'm full blooded Italian and this is Italian style food but definitely not run by Italians nor an Italian Cafe. This wasn't carbonara, more like white sauce with spaghetti at best..the gentleman taking the orders was a very nice man, I'll say that!

Buona Italia is a cute little restaurant. The decor is old fashioned. Plenty of street parking in this quiet neighborhood. The servers were quite friendly, and they genuinely cared about their customers. The portions were generous, and they used fresh ingredients. Daily specials are posted on the counter, and there is a wide variety of beverages to choose.

After a lovely hike to Mori Point, my daughter and I were in the mood for authentic Italian food in Pacifica. Buona Italia is a local, rustic Italian restaurant serving great food and wine. I had a spinach ravioli with a nice glass of Chianti wine. They even gave us bread on the side. The Marinara sauce was amazing. Pros: Vegetarian options, dog friendly, great service Cons: limited seating and a little expensive for the portion sizes

Thoroughly enjoyed trying this spot for lunch! I got the spinach ravioli and it was delicious. It was a bit small for the price but it was nice that the meal came with bread. The spot itself is very small inside and although they say they have outdoor seating, they only have one small table on the road side. Overall would recommend if you are looking for casual italian in the area!

Delicious food, cashier was super friendly. I do eat pork but wanted Sicilian omelette so a cashier substituted it with smoked salmon at no extra charge

Found this gem on Yelp. After hiking all morning, we were hungry and ready to eat and this place did not disappoint! It's small - few tables. Street parking available. You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. Everyday was pretty quick. We ordered the calamari fritti, Bruschetta (amazingly good), garlic, olive oil pasta with shrimp, cioppino, salmon piccata, and finished off with a cannoli. Everything was cooked perfectly and well flavored. Service was great! Price was reasonable. Definitely a good find and will return whenever in the area!

    Very cute little restaurant!

The ambiance was beautiful, with piano music during our Saturday visit and thoughtfully tiered seating that gives everyone a great view of the ocean. We started with complimentary bread and butter, which was good, but the Caesar salad was the standout. The sourdough croutons made it especially delicious. A definite 5/5! We tried both the steak frites and the New York steak. Both were cooked exactly as ordered, wonderfully juicy, and had a smoky flavor that took them to the next level. Another 5/5. We finished with a complimentary birthday cake, along with coffee and tea, which was a lovely way to end the meal. The service was excellent throughout. The staff kept our water filled, checked in regularly, and graciously took plenty of photos for us with the beautiful scenery. 5/5 A fantastic birthday experience from start to finish. We were lucky enough to sit facing the water, and having a live piano player during our visit made the whole experience even better. The atmosphere alone makes this place worth checking out. We ordered the peach burrata, corn bisque, Oysters Rockefeller, steak frites, and mango crème brûlée. The peach burrata and corn bisque were great, and the steak was cooked and prepared really well. I normally don't use sauce on my steaks, but this one felt like it was missing a little something. I would've loved a different sauce or accompaniment to bring everything together. The fries, however, were phenomenal, and the mango crème brûlée was a great way to finish the meal. The Oysters Rockefeller were probably the only real disappointment. They weren't bad, but we've definitely had better elsewhere, so they didn't quite live up to the rest of the meal. For drinks, we started with a dirty martini and the house Manhattan, then asked our server, Daniel, for a recommendation. He suggested the Old Fashioned, and that ended up being the winner of the night! We liked it enough to order a few more. Daniel was attentive, friendly, and provided great service throughout the evening. Between the oceanfront view, live piano, cocktails, food, and service, we had a really enjoyable first experience. It may have taken us eight years to finally stop in, but I'm glad we did. We'll definitely be back, especially for that Old Fashioned, those fries, and the view!

I was underwhelmed by their "by the glass" menu and settled on an Orange wine and my husband got a Sauvignon Blanc. We sat in the green velvet couches that felt like sitting in someone's basement. My husband took one sip of his wine and it was terrible, I took a sip and it smelled like it was turning. He went back to get a different glass and the owner reluctantly poured him a Rose. We sat and had two glasses each, about $60. When I went to pay, the owner said that she wanted to be "transparent" and was still charging me for half of the awful first glass we took back. I told her I tasted it and it was terrible. She was extremely rude about it. If you were being "transparent" you would have told me that before pouring another glass. So she charged me $6-7 when I would have tipped $10-12 on the tab and I'll never go back there again. That's just someone that doesn't know how to run a business. The interior was a bit dark and intimate, although interestingly, my photo makes it appear much brighter than it actually was. *** O U R P I C K S *** PRIME RIB FRENCH DIP SANDWICH ~ I chose this sandwich since I just wanted a small bite to eat. The French dip was tasty, but because the meat was cooked medium rare, it was a bit chewy in places, so a knife definitely came in handy. I only ate half and was satisfied. The sourdough bread had a nice chew, although I usually prefer my rolls toasted. As a leftover sandwich, though, I'm glad it wasn't toasted, it would have made the bread too hard. 4/5 STEAK SANDWICH ~ My partner decided to try the steak sandwich. He said it was just okay and felt he should have gotten the prime rib French dip instead. The steak was cooked medium rare as requested, but it was pretty bland and could have used more seasoning. It came with tomatoes, lettuce, and onions to dress it up. He also opted for the garlic fries instead of regular fries. The fries were tasty with the added garlic garnish, although they could have been crispier. 3/5 HOT LINKS SANDWICH ~ Our friend ordered this one. I guess it was okay, but honestly, it's not something that takes much culinary skill if the hot links are store-bought. That's my assumption, anyway, since I don't think the links were made in-house. 3.5/5 HOUSE SALAD ~ As I recall, the salad was a spring mix with cabbage, garbanzo beans, kidney beans, and red onions.
