Street parking only in a residential area so you may have to do a few laps around/walk. The menu offers lots of seafood options + authentic dishes I have not seen before, however if you're interested you may have to ask or look up descriptions as it is mostly in Spanish. We did come about an hour before closing and they were out of some meat and aquas frescas. Food portions were huge, my only thing was that it was not salty/lacks flavor on its own but you can at least adjust it to your preference. We got 2 different burritos (asada and al pastor) and a plate of carne asada fries. Environment is pretty lively as they have a separate room for parties/karaoke and dancing.

Food was great, and the service was super friendly. They checked on us often to make sure everything was good. The interior is really unique with great artwork, and the huge TVs make it a great spot to watch games. The only downside was the room next door--the noise was insane, and security didn't bother closing the doors until other customers stepped in and did it themselves. Other than that, it was a great dinner spot with lots of good options on the menu.

We've driven by plenty of times when this place just opened and wondered about it. Then I checked Yelp and I saw some cool pics of unusual Mexican dishes! So tonight was the night we felt like going out and didn't feel like cooking. We live less than 10 minutes away, so it was quick and simple. We found a parking spot about a block away. Beautiful Mexican artwork covered the interior walls and the place was festive and colorful. The bar had a modern vibe with words above that read, "Si fueras Tequila te tomarias enserio!" which google translates to, "If you were Tequila, you would be taken seriously." Something to ponder about as you're taking shots or nursing your drink. ***OUR PICKS*** ORDEN DE CEVICHE ~ this ceviche was tart and salty, but a nice starter to get your appetite going. It comes with crackers and tostadas. The shrimp was cooked from all the lime juice. Maybe more cooked than we would have liked, but it was definitely safe to eat. 4/5 CAMARONES A LA DIABLA ~ Giant prawns, Mexican rice, refried beans, a salad and 4 handmade tortillas. This was a generous platter and a fiesta for the eyes!!! The prawns were in a sweet and peppery sauce. My guy wanted some citrus to go with it, but the cut up limes we got were really hard and dry! No juice came out of it. So we ate the perfectly cooked prawns as is. They just needed some citrus to lighten up the flavor. The rice and beans were on point and the salad had an unexpected surprise, guava dressing! I love guava, so naturally I enjoyed the salad! And usually with a spring mix, the dressing is too tart and overpowering. This dressing was perfect, where it was sweet and tart with a lovely flavor! 4.5/5 TROMPO DE PASTOR ~ marinated pork grilled at your table side. It comes with a few pieces of pineapples, chopped red onions, cilantro, grilled green onions, grilled prickly pear cactus pads and 4 handmade corn tortillas. We got a little entertainment while eating this dish! The pork was a tad salty, so I would have liked some rice to balance it out. The rest of the condiments and sauces were good. 4/5 Service was excellent and food was tasty! We got some satisfying authentic Mexican dishes tonight and really enjoyed our time at Las Pencas de Maguey!

If friends from out of town came through, I would take them to Las Pencas de Maguey for a fun dinner in Daly City/Colma. They have some unique dishes like the Trompo de Pastor $29.50. It is a table side personal vertical grill, kind of like a shawarma. They even put a pinepple on top so it drips the juices down to the meat for extra flavor. The al pastor was flavorful with charred tips, bright adobo sauce and that beautiful marinated pork taste. It came with tortillas, free chips & salsa. Three types of hot sauce are available at the table. My Modelo beer $7 was served in a bottle, ice cold. Later I saw that they had it on tap at the bar. I wonder why she didn't give me a pint instead of the bottle. My preference is tap. Tables around me had drinks with little umbrellas on them. If you are into it, ask the bartender what drinks they are. As for the restaurant, the Yelp hours are incorrect. The waitress told me the restaurant is open until 1am on the weekends, the club/dance room is open until 2am. On the weekdays, there is karaoke in the other room. On the weekends, the other room is a club/dancing with bouncers. Bring some earplugs if are sensitive to noise. Service was excellent. The restaurant room was full at 9pm on a Saturday night. By the time I left at 10pm, tables were available.

Greetings to all, this is my first time to this restaurant and it was a 4star experience: The parking outside was pretty much at will, this is An C for me. Inside the restaurant itself , was a moderately lit establishment with ample lighting for each person seated at a table. This was An B for me. The service : our waitress was very kind and friendly; and very much on point with our orders. This was An A for me. The display of the foods was outstanding , but some of dishes could have been more flavorful; but overall This was a B for me , Nice job to the restaurant staff.

Came in and place was nice and clean. Seated promptly. Food was ok. The little build your own tacos thing was cute. Burrito had good flavor. Calamari was eh. The only downside for me is it was hard for us to communicate with our server. I asked for beans on the side and even used Google Translate and somehow the beans never made it at all. Bathrooms seem to be under construction. Parking is street parking.

Food: has the camarones a la Diablo. Succulent and spicy. Loved the beans in the separate container. Hearty and had a rich flavor. Service: friendly and quick. Ambiance: very large space with murals that brighten the room. Loved the chandelier and small fireplace. As a new establishment, it felt empty but hopefully in time there will be a strong customer base. Looking forward to trying other items.

I always passed by this place but never tried it for some reason. This place is a gem. The server was very nice and friendly. She made sure we were doing good. The food was delicious. The place is amazing and there was a guitarist performing when I got there. I will be back!

The best burrito I have ever tasted; experienced. The visual of the cutaway of the split burrito is also the most beautiful image of a burrito I have also ever seen. The grilling of the tortilla was perfect: even light brown; not hard or dried out; a perfect balance of texture and nutty taste while easy to bite into. The design elements of the establishment are inviting and celebratory. The previous establishment, while a decades-long El Salvadorian restaurant, has been supplanted by a unique Mexican establishment. In addition to food and drink served, they host a life performance dance hall or venue in the back.

Cantarito: lemon/lime juice, orange juice, tequila, squirt, rimmed with chamoy and Tajín!

Wow you guys! You walk in and it's welcoming. Heads up the menu is in Spanish with no English description so if you're not familiar with the language bring a friend or use google translate. The food yall! The presentation is spectacular and the taste is divine. The salsa verde that comes with the chips is killer! It reminds me of my mom's salsa. I've been there a couple times and this is what I've ordered so far: Trompito de Pastor: literally a mini Al pastor set up full of taco prep things. Very yummy very cute! Ribeye: my husband had it wow! It's a big plate so go on an empty stomach! Shrimp tacos: I'm not a fan of bell peppers but woooh these were delicious. The tortillas are hand made and that's my favorite thing! La parrillada: it's a mini griddle with the following items - thinly sliced steak, chorizo, cactus pads, grilled chicken, cheese, jalapeño, lemon and some ribs. Esquites: bruh hella yummy. Corn kernels with mayonnaise and cheese Molcajete: a volcanic rock pestle filled with salsa and the same ingredients as the parrillada! Fajitas: delicious!!! Breaded shrimp: didn't try this one but my friend had it he said it was the best shrimp he'd had in a while! All of them came with rice and beans which were uuuugh so good. Reminded me of my grandmas cooking. We went on a Saturday night when they have karaoke and the vibe is party!!! It is a little loud so if you're not into that be prepared!

Food was priced really well, loved the decor and nice waitresses! Will definitely come back sometime:)

I like the authenticity of the flavor of each dish, especially the menudo I got. Tasted cajun mix and fajitas too, so flavorful! Staff were friendly, checks on us every time she goes around. The place is so lively and gives that fun vibe!

At that price, I was expecting…read moresomething that would separate it from the countless great taco spots around the Central Valley maybe handmade tortillas, grilled-to-order meat, or something memorable. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. The chicken taco ($5.99) was good, but there was no wow factor. The chicken had decent flavor, but everything else felt pretty basic for a nearly $6 taco. The crunchy taco ($5.99) was probably the most disappointing. It reminded me of a small supermarket-style hard taco shell. The chopped steak inside was actually good, but it was heavily covered in shredded cheese. Then there's the Super Taco ($7.99). This one is a skip for me. It was loaded with cheese and watery guacamole, while the al pastor was drenched in sauce and seasoning. There was so much going on that I couldn't really appreciate the meat itself. That's roughly $20 for three tacos before tax... and ultimately, they still felt like fairly basic tacos made with basic ingredients. We also ordered the chicken quesadilla, and I'll give them this: it was MASSIVE. Definitely not lacking in portion size. But again, there was so much cheese, and the chicken was diced so finely that I found myself questioning the overall quality and freshness rather than appreciating the chicken. Surprisingly, my favorite part of the meal was the complimentary chips and green salsa. The green salsa had a nice kick and great flavor. Interestingly, though, our two cups tasted completely different one was flavorful and spicy, while the other was noticeably bland. After everything, we somehow walked out spending around $45 after tipping at checkout. That's where this place loses me. I'm willing to pay more for good food, and I understand restaurant prices have gone up everywhere. But when you're charging $5.99-$7.99 per taco, the quality has to justify it. The food wasn't terrible. It just wasn't memorable enough for the price. If you're coming here expecting elevated tacos to match the elevated price, I would temper those expectations.

It came with avocados, rice, beans, lettuce and 4 flour tortillas. I wouldn't mind getting this again. A basket of chips came for each person as soon as we sat down and there was a healthy selection of salsa. I didn't care for the chips itself as they were too salty for me. The ambiance is very festive and there were plenty of people coming in and out. We dined in and found myself wishing they gave real silverware rather than plastic. We were only give one real fork for the fish and it was difficult to break apart. Their plastic cutlery was also pretty flimsy so we mostly ate with our hands.
