I don't know how this place can say it's a seafood place when there's like four choices of seafood. It's super cheesy inside and my husband's perch sandwich was mediocre and the fries weren't even that good. Anytime I can stop myself after a few fries is a bad sign. The service was fine, but the real standout was the shrimp and lobster bisque. I must admit that was quite lovely. My first time visiting the Lake Geneva area and my friends recommended Popeye's for dinner. We were visiting during the off season, so it wasn't as busy as it usually would be. Popeye's is a large restaurant right near the lake with plenty of seating. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating options. We were able to walk in and get a table for 4, but it does get busy and there could be a wait. Service was great. Our server did an excellent job checking in on us and refilling our drinks. The food came out very quickly as well. Their menu is huge and there is definitely something for everyone. Featuring plenty of seafood options, steak, chicken, pub fare, and more, it is hard to choose just one entree! We ended up opting to split a couple starters, which was perfect. Being in Wisconsin, of course we had to order their Premium Fried Cheese Curds. We also ordered the Nachos Supreme (chicken on the side) and the Milwaukee Pretzel Bites. All the food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering, the cheese curds being first. We got a pound, which was plenty for the four of us the share. The cheese curds are heavenly and the cheese is of great quality. It is true, Wisconsin cheese curds stand above all others! The homemade buttermilk ranch dressing it was served with was very complementing. The Nachos Supreme were amazing. Featuring pulled rotisserie chicken, tomatoes, green onion, house-shredded cheddar-jack cheese, on freshly made corn tortillas chips, served with house-made salsa. Absolutely loved these and was more than satisfied. These are the perfect bar nachos with ample amounts of high-quality cheese. The chips are really fresh, the chicken wasn't dry, and the salsa was fresh. Another great option and I would highly recommend. The Milwaukee Pretzel Bites are toasted with butter and salt, served with cheese sauce. The pretzels were really soft, salted just right, and paired perfectly with the silky cheese sauce. Another great starter. I will say this one is a smaller portion than the other two starters we ordered, but still a good option. Overall, I was pleased with my experience here. The food is pretty standard bar food. But I really enjoyed everything we ordered and thought it tasted great. The nachos and cheese curds being my favorite. I will say this place is a little pricey, but I think that is standard for anywhere near Lake Geneva. This is a great place to eat at for a fun dinner with friends or family. A beautiful spot right across the street from the lake!! Was in town for a girls weekend. I was DELIGHTED to see their early bird unlimited fish fry and tenders option!! While the cod it's self was delicious, the batter could have used a bit more season. Thankful for the buffalo and ranch to add some flavor! That was the trend for all of our meals! Popeye's menu prices are INSULTINGLY OUTRAGEOUS! Under no circumstances should fried calamari cost $29.99 or fried fish meal cost $24.99. I visited the restaurant on Friday July 3rd 2026 with my family. We went explicitly to have fish fry. After we sat down and our server was ready to take our order, she informed us they were not serving fish fry. Instead they were serving prime rib. I think the history of fish fry was lost on Popeye's. Understandably fish was our only option for Friday. As a result we were left with one option to order the restaurants only fish meal! That means we ended up having to spend $35 more than if we would have been able to order the usual fish fry. Setting aside the DESPICABLE PRICE the perch meal was NOT GOOD! read more

It was a really nice weekend, so we just decided to pick up and go to Lake Geneva. We had walked past Popeye's plenty of times but wanted to sit and grab a quick bite to eat before walking all over the place. We grabbed a couple of drinks and some of their chicken nachos. They were plenty filling, and we weren't super hungry to order a lot of food, but given how much they gave us, we didn't need to order anything else. The nachos and the drinks filled us up, and we were on our way. I could see them spit-roasting a pig, and they were very busy. Regardless, we got seated immediately and wanted to eat outside since the weather was so nice. Our server was super friendly and very attentive. He provided the perfect recommendations and the right amount of attention. Everyone appeared to be enjoying themselves, and there were lively conversations all over the place. We had an early dinner here on a Friday and it was fantastic. The menu was detailed with what could be gluten free there were a lot of options. I also don't eat red meat and was able to enjoy the shrimp. The potato pancakes were unreal. I'm still thinking about them. The apple sauce that came with them tasted homemade. Against our better judgement we tried this place again. The server was a great kid , super attentive and just very kind . However the food was absolute trash . Serving frozen burger Pattie's at 20 bucks is just wrong . Not even melting the cheese , that's just comical . My daughter who is ten said "mom this burger tastes like they bought them from the freezer at a Walmart" . The food was all cold . The concierge at 12:30 today lacked customer service etiquette! Very unfriendly, and was literally rude when we asked if we could be seated near the window. We had reservations and there were plenty of window seats and staff standing around. She gave us this look of death and we thanked her twice and she had no reply other than clearly annoyed. What I got was 2 (I think it should have been 3 according to menu on the internet) tiny, skinny, flat, dehydrated pieces of fish that were the size of a cheese stick and 3 flat, perhaps once frozen, fried shrimp, and coleslaw, on top of toast that no one would ever eat. I think that's to make the tiny plate seem full. Also, the waitress hovered over us, clearly rushing us to turn the table . That's only a part of what was an absolutely unpleasant lunch. For food we ordered a few things to pass. Can't go wrong with the premium fried cheese curds... a WI staple. They came out hot and gooey. Also the Popeyes baked brie, oh my goooodness. We devoured it. Creamy Danish brie cheese in herbed garlic butter with scallions, fresh tomatoes and toasted almonds. What's not to love? Lastly were the rotisserie chicken nachos which were plentiful and hit the spot. As for drinks, two of us ordered their famous mai tais. Definitely my fave but my friends loved them. Potatoe pancakes were so weird. Always prefried and served with honey mustard? Asked for applesauce and was charged $1.25 for the size of a mayonnaise request. Chicken and ribs was decent, but not the same as when cooked outside. Still not sure why they stopped that. Brisket sandwich was mostly bread hardly any meat. And not to mention the pricing. Great lakeside casual dining in downtown Geneva. It was fun to see the outdoor rotisserie and the inflatable chicken walk through the restaurant. I had the ultimate casamigos margarita, but this was really sweet and undrinkable unfortunately. Our rotisserie chicken nachos were tasty but covered with a huge layer of sticky melted cheese and not much of the other toppings. My salmon ceasar salad was tasty as well but very garlicky. The batter on each of the filets is hand prepared from scratch then each filet is Hand dipped placed into the fryer to a crispy thin and light with amazing butter milk flavor. The nostalgia of this place was gone in a matter of 2 minutes. I spent my childhood going to Popeyes. I wanted my son to experience how fun it used to be. We were greeted by a parking attendant who first said they were full, but after telling him we were going to eat there magically found a spot. We were on motorcycles and told us it would be $ 5.00 per hour per bike. Which is not the policy. (I found out later). I conceded and said fine. We were there for under 30 minutes. The food was just ok. I gave him $ 10.00... He actually stood behind our bikes and asked if he did anything wrong that there was no tip (I thought since were were there for only 30 minutes he could keep the $ 5.00 extra) he kept it up until I went in an spoke with the manager. They said we were going to Popeyes and I was thoroughly confused but when we pulled up I realized oh not the chicken place. We had reservations and when we arrived they had to add more tables for our group. With the size of our group we had two servers, one taking care of each side but the servers still had other tables to take care so they were being overworked and it was noticeable in their service. I ordered their brisket let's just say you can skip it. It had no flavor, it was grayish and fatty. I couldn't even finish it. It comes with onion rings and a drizzle of bbq sauce, coleslaw and fries. Their broccoli cheese soup on the other hand saved my meal. A good number of my group ordered the AYCE fish fry meal. But again the servers couldn't be found to bring them more. They eventually just brought out plates full because they were tired of individuals wanting another round. Horrible. Went on a Thursday. Maybe 10 people in the whole restaurant. Hostess never asked where we'd like to sit. Sat us right next to another couple, despite 25 tables being open. I picked up our menus and moved 2 tables away, so we could also be by the window and not right next to anyone. The waiter then asked us to move to a 4 place table instead of the 6 seat we were at. My wife and I came here for lunch on our day trip to Lake Geneva. The location was great- right on the lake. We sat outside- which was beautiful but there was a few wasps that kept wanting our drinks. My wife got the lobster flatbread- which was amazing. I got the chicken, which was also very good.
