We have been loyal customers of Claws for several years. We drive from Whitewater for their Italian beef combos and the pepper and egg sandwich. We haven't been here in several months, and Today was very disappointing! The combo was amazing as usual. The pepper and egg sandwich however was the worst I've ever had! It was a very thin layer of egg with a very thin layer of mozzarella cheese, all bread and peppers and very salty! The sandwich was literally flat when I unwrapped it. They changed the way they do the eggs, they used to scramble them and fill the sandwich with fluffy, scrambled egg and when I ordered mozzarella cheese, always got a decent amount of mozzarella. This time was completely different! I was so looking forward to that sandwich because I hadn't had it in so long. We will go back, I really hope this is not the norm from here on out. If so, I won't be ordering that again unless I can special order it the way they used to make it. Otherwise, the service was good, and my husband was happy! read more

Great food. Fast service and incessantly priced. We usually order at the drive up. It's like eating in a cafeteria in winter the door opening freezes you out of sitting there. Haven't been here for about five years. I was in the area, and wanted to see if it's still awesome. The menu is extensive and everything looks wonderful. The Monday/Wednesday special looked good. 2 Chicago dogs, small fry, and a small Coke for $10.50. Can't beat that price. Everything is hot and fresh, and it was prepared in a matter of minutes. Staff is polite and professional. Plenty of lot parking. If you're in the late Geneva area I highly recommend this establishment. read more

Gosh, we think this is just a fabulous hidden gem. You would never think by looking at it that it's going to be as good as it is. I've never had anything bad here, but as far as amazing- yes the Chicago dogs all the way. So so good, every time I need them. They have a two Chicago dogs, fries, and a drink for $12.95, and tons of other meal deals. Tons of options so everyone will be able to find something they like. The bosco sticks are delicious and a go to as well. And the chicken Parmesan sandwich is always my husband's favorite. We tried the chili cheese fries this last time, and great chili. It has that fun old school feel inside as well, with the old booths to eat in. Clean on the inside and quick service for food coming out. You just order right at the counter, so no wait staff. We've been going to Claw's for years and like their sandwiches. They have a good variety, offering everything from gyros (our favorite!) to paninis to chicken salad sandwiches to burgers. They also serve breakfast, as well as milkshakes and ice cream cones. The atmosphere is kinda like an indoor hot dog stand, with bright yellow and red colors mixed with wood accents. Their staff is mostly super friendly, one of the women behind the counter is a little abrasive. The only reason I give it one less star is I would love to see a few healthier options, like a chicken/avocado panini, or a Mediterranean sandwich with hummus, or something like that. But if you're not in the mood for anything super healthy (because there are at least moderately healthy options available), then my bet is that you will like it here! read more

I called at noon, asked to hold, 8 minutes later still nobody came back to the call. I finally got a hold of someone, said that I was just on hold for 8 minutes and they said well it's busy here. I said do you have time for my order and she laughed and said yep. Put my order in. Went in to pay, 10 minutes after I put my order in, and the lady was so rude. The order you just literally called in.... Then announced back to the kitchen that "The phone call Order was here already, I know she just called". Then a man said phone order, I've been calling for you with a rude look on his face and walked away. HORRIBLE customer service. I get that it's busy but there's no need to be rude to a paying customer. Absolutely ridiculous and I will not be back. We are good local customers but we're disappointed to see that all of the employees were not wearing masks yesterday when putting our order together, despite the fact that their is a pandemic, state law and they had to close recently due to employee testing positive. All the employees including the cook making our food had their masks below their chin! Tucked away in a shopping center this is one of my favorite stops when passing through Lake Geneva. The menu is full of options for every pallet. They have combo meals,daily specials and even serve breakfast. My go to here is thee combo #1 which is 2 hot dogs,small fry and and a drink for about $9. Very easy system of ordering. Walk up to the counter and when ready they call your number. Very friendly staff and quick service. Food is good for a lunch grab, quality veggies and meats used for sandwiches and toppings. Fries always hot and crispy. Free refills at self serve soda fountain. Can't go wrong here, I will of coarse be back again soon. read more

This is my always go to place in LG for Chicago style hot dogs. They typically do a great job on replicating that dish. Today however, altho the ingredients were almost on, the bun is not super fresh and there is no celery salt on it. You can tell as soon as you grab it. This a review over multiple visits. There food isn't bad and isn't great. Like most everything in Lake Geneva food wise it's very average or in this instance below average - portions are generally small - if you upgrade to extra meat on gyro it's still below an average sandwich size like many other places outside of LG - hard to mess up a gyro when you opt in to pay more and expect more but they do it consistently - I did ask to speak with the manager and I did btw, but he talked in incomplete sentences probably in a hurry - but Hector should not talk to customers- not his strong suit. If your expectations are low and your up for a below average food and service experience then Claws might be ok read more

Stopped in before we returned to Chicago, after staying at the Holiday Inn timeshare, at Grand Geneva ... saw CLAWS ... stressed Chicago style food ... we ordered a reuben with a chocolate milk shake and a double bacon cheeseburger meal ... not impressed with the chocolate milk shake, did not taste like chocolate, and there was barely any meat on the $9.99 reuben ... felt the prices are over inflated for what you get ... Have to express my disappointment in our experience at Claws. We had a hot dog with fries which was only luke warm and the bun was hard, a gyro meal which was ok, a plain hot dog with fries and a corn beef sandwich, not a Reuben that had minimal warm lunch meat on it pictured below, with fries and 2 small drinks and a cheese cup. The bill was $45.59. My lunch meat sandwich on super thin rye bread was $11.95. I thought it would be brisket meat for that price and especially when I could have had a Reuben for $9.99. We could have eaten at Magpie's, Champs or anywhere else in town and enjoyed our meal for about the same price. We used to like eating at Claws but never again. Claws what has happened over the last 2 years? Food quality on a steady decline and the customer service is horrible, more that one experience. The food I must say is good. The issue is the internet menu. I order the ribs which come with coleslaw and French fries. There is only only place ribs appear on the menu. I did not not receive the French fries nor the coleslaw. When I asked about it I was told I ordered the "ribs only". When I got home I checked the menu, there is NO ribs only. The two stars are the the excellent French fries which have their skins on them. Tasty, did not need ketchup. The brat was inedible . Not even our dog ate it, we threw it away. We have been going to Claws for a couple years, only to watch it steadily decline. It used to be friendly, clean, great customer service, excellent fast food and above par. The last few times we have gone to pick up our food, the employees have been rude, our called in orders were misplaced (more like not made!) or incorrect/missing food, and we are told salad dressing is not included with a salad?! They charge us 50 cents for crappy ranch dressing! Last night, we went through drive through and the young lady at the window had her hair down and wore a one shoulder tank top. I'm positive that's not health department approved. On top of that, she didn't get my change right. Pretty please, read your reviews and get your act together! This is a nice fast food joint that has a lot of variety in their menu. I like their hamburgers and hot dogs and the french fries are very crispy and chunky, not like McDonald's. I tried their submarine sandwiches and they put plenty of meat on them with tomatoes lettuce and onion with mayo (which is everything on it) but I think they should slice the onions a little finer instead of the big chunks I had. This review is about one particular sandwich that I've been enjoying here for the last two years. The Grilled Cheese. Hands down the best grilled cheese sandwich I've ever had. It's more like two sandwiches because it's made with Panini bread. And did I mention it's huge. Crunchy on the outside and gooey melted cheese inside. I've tried the Chicago Dogs too and they're also great, but I keep coming back for the Grilled Cheese. For $4 it's a heck of a meal. read more

Claws! Yes this place rocks! I love seeing the employees and the food there is really good. The Gyros are amazing except they don't have feta cheese but they told its Chicago style food which is fine. The tizaki sauce is amazing! The burgers are also good too. Stopped here on a drive from Chicago to Minneapolis. Just happened to be the first non-chain eatery I came across so I decided to give it a go. The menu had a ton of different sandwiches to choose from, but I went with the special of the day - Texas Beef Brisket and Sweet Potato fries. Now, the fries were awesome. Crisp, fresh, and sweet. Very lightly salted. I was in heaven. The sandwich though was sloppy and fatty, and was more like "sliced all purpose beef" then beef brisket. If the BBQ sauce wasn't on it, I imagine this would have qualified as a roast beef sandwich, or Roast Beef Au Jus. Disappointed on the brisket sandwich. I still ate it, but it was nothing to write home about. The staff was friendly. The place was clean, and the bathrooms were neat and in order. Not bad for a quick roadside stop. It's not a chain, which is a plus - and it was priced reasonably. If I were in the area I'd probably try it again and see what the other sandwiches were like. read more

We ordered two items at claws. A hamburger and Italian beef combo. Supposedly according to their advertisement, they are Chicago Style food. Somehow, I did not think that is true. For the hamburger, we added cheddar cheese. So instead of a slice of cheddar cheese, they added a shredded cheddar on the burger. Who adds shredded cheese to a burger?! As for the Italian beef, it is definitely not Chicago style. It was way too small... and served with out Gardiner. o yeah.. with shredded cheddar as well. Another thing I do not like. At the pick up window, they added a faux wall so you can't see in the kitchen while you wait for your food. What is up with that? Great place to eat. The pulled smoked pork bbq sandwich is the 2nd best pulled pork I've ever had. The French fries are fresh and delish, too. They have dr. Pepper! Kid went back and said sorry made mistake. They were going to charge me $2.00 more?? Nice racket. Menu board said cheese was .50 more now they charged 75 cents more. This place is bad. I've lived here for years and has been on a steady downward progression. The fries are terrible...burned on the tips which shows me they buy the cheapest food available. Never consistent. Chairs up on the tables and mopping with guests in line to order food shows how much they care. Spent 40 bucks for 3 of us...we waited for food past closing to be told they were shutting off the soda machine for the night? Many other places to get food after a school concert...the fast serve in town would've clearly been a better choice.
