I love these folks! Several weeks back I brought my red 1990 Cadillac Eldo Touring Coupe in to Burbank Auto Doctor. I had been told by my "former" regular shop that I had a bad head gasket and to just sell the car - that it wasn't worth fixing. Well, this is one of the best cars I've ever owned and I've had 16 great years with it. I wasn't convinced that the head gasket was the problem, as I'd done some prior research online, so I went in search of a new Mechanic/Shop. That's one of the best things I ever did, because that's how I found my "new" shop, Ben and Mike over at Burbank Auto Doctor. I was a bit apprehensive when I walked in, (strange mechanic jitters) but Ben welcomed my friend and I warmly and professionally, "How can I help you, gentlemen?" I immediately got a small town, friendly, honest vibe that is really rare nowadays in Los Angeles. Mike, a very nice guy with a great sense of humor, checked me in and asked me about the symptoms the car was exhibiting. He made a record of that. He said they'd call after they looked at it. When I left, their lot was jam-packed with cars needing repairs, so I was resigned that it was going to be the next day before I heard anything. But low and behold, about an hour and a half later I hear from Mike. They had already figured out the problem -- NO BAD HEAD GASKET, but a bad Fuel Pressure Regulator. Gigantic sigh of relief! Picked up my Eldo the next morning, with a reasonable $200 bill and the car running like a champ! These are True Mechanics who really know how to fix things, and are also sophisticated technicians, well-versed on the high-tech systems of todays vehicles. Their parking lot was a mix of beautiful old classics, new hybrids and everything in between. Everyone knows there's a lot of "Quack" repair shops out there. If I had listened to my old repair shop, I would've sold a perfectly good car (probably cheap) for no good reason. So, if your car has gotten a bad diagnosis, take it to Burbank Auto Doctor for a second opinion. Or better yet, take it there for a first opinion, and save yourself fret, time and money. I, too, am one of Ben's customers when he was at Midas - and I followed him to his new business, Burbank Auto Doctor. In effect, he has been my preferred mechanic and oil change place for at least 5 years, probably more. The first time I brought my car in to Midas, I felt comfortable, and knew he wasn't trying to make the job bigger than it was - and for a female driver in the vastness of LA, this was a Godsend. Ben is a straight shooter, very knowledgable, with a very large rolodex of sources and contacts to find the correct parts for my obscure (and old) car model. Even with sticky electrical/transmission problems, I KNOW he and his great team gave their absolute best effort, advice and even referrals. I've never felt like his prices were out of line or inflated, and my questions are always answered in a straightforward manner that helps me understand mechanical issues. What I value the MOST is the trust I have in Ben, in Jason. They are always there for me, and as long as I live in the Burbank area, they will get all of my auto repair business. I fully and freely recommend Burbank Auto Doctor to all. Just want to add that I am not a relative, insider. After a 5hour brake job, that should have taken 1.5 hours max and watching the severely unprofessional mechanic (if he so dares to call himself that) work on my brakes, with crappy broken tools, wondering around looking lost like he hasn't a clue what he's doing or even what he is suposed to be doing, I am just in shock that someone like this could hold a job like that working on other peoples cars.. Finally the manager Ben stopped this guy and took over doing the work as im sure he saw what I saw the guy didnt know brakes from a muffler bearing, but wait, didnt this guy ben (the owner/manager) hire this guy in the first place, so what does that say about him... After 5 hours to do front brakes and warning me that i might have to come back for "an adjustment" but it will be OKAY, i left in AWE that some place like this could operate. Im freaked out to say the least, and will be taking my brakes to another place to have them double checked, who knows what they left loose, or forgot to put back on, or lost. UNPROFESSIONAL, DIRTY, SMOKING AROUND CUSTOMERS CARS, SMOKING WHILE WORKING ON CUSTOMERS CARS, I do not recommend this place, its getting harder and harder to find a good decent honest place to work on your car. read more

I went into Burbank Auto Doctor with the understanding from another shop that I need of a full brake job consisting of Brake pads, rotors, calipers, brake shoes drums, and wheel cylinders. at the cost of over $800.00... Looking for a second opinion with a recommendation from a friend of mine I went to the Dr. and Much to my surprise I did not need all of these repairs... It was on a simple brake service for $211.99.... These guys are great they showed me what the problem was and explained what I needed... I had a lot of questions that drove them crazy but they were patient with me and answered all my questions.... The other shop did not want to let me around the car so that I could see what they were talking about. I understand it is a insurance issue to let customers run around the shop alone but when I am spending that kind on money I would like to see what they are doing........Burbank Auto Doctor now has a customer for life and I will recommend to all my family and friends................(Thanks Guys! This review is way past due but I've had my car serviced at the Auto Doctor several times so I have plenty of experience to highly recommend this shop. I initially went there because I saw good Yelp reviews and I haven't been disappointed. I had my A/C repaired about a year ago. A couple of weeks later I had a coolant leak and I called to explain my situation. They were able to repair my car that same day. A year later I had another coolant leak from a bad radiator (the other was a very cracked recovery tank, which Ben showed me). I also had some fluid leaking and was advised to first get the engine washed so they'd know for sure where the leak is so they wouldn't waste time. They found the problem and gave me the estimate. In every situation they've given me good advice, never tried to sell me service I didn't need and even told me to make sure I let them check over my next car before I buy it. I've recommended the Auto Doctor to several people. It's such a relief to have a mechanic you can trust!!! read more

Found this shop on Yelp. At the time there were several fantastic reviews and only two horrible one's. I had a good feeling about them so I took my car in. I have had two long term problems that no one else good fix. I had even been to the dealer who just shrugged their shoulders! Well, my gut was right. They were great! Ben, the owner, took on the car which by all accounts was a nightmare. It took some time, but Ben stayed with it , checking everything possible, even going out of his way to consult with other mechanics. Now I have my car back and the " ghost in the machine" has been exorcised. On top of all that, and after all the time Ben spent wrestling with it, frustrations galore, he stunned me with the fairest price I could have imagined. Thankyou so much! Enjoy your treats. Ben at Burbank Auto Doctor is the Best!!! I first met him when he managed for Midas in Burbank 7 years ago. I moved about the same time he left Midas and we lost touch. I recieved a post card from his new shop inviting me in for a discounted oil change, I held onto it and didn't think much of it since I was going to a Midas near my new home. Well...that Midas closed and I was without a Mechanic, some how I remembered that post card from Ben and I took my car into see him when it was acting funny. He totally remembered me all these years later and he not only fixed the problem at a great rate but got the job done fast. Recently I've had a new issue with my poor car, it's from 1994, and Ben has come to my rescue again. I can't say enough about how great he and his shop is, and I've yet to meet a mechanic I can trust more, with him you'll will always get a fair price and professional service!!! read more

This shop has been one of the best auto repair shops I have ever visited in my life. The first time I went in, I described my problem and the owner fixed my issue within 60 minutes. He told me that the problem was so minor that he didn't feel comfortable charging me. He basically fixed my problem for free. The second time I went in, he went ahead and started calling parts suppliers while I waited trying to get the best deal on the parts I needed for my car. In the end, I saved over $300 on the much needed repair and the work was done in less than a day. I would highly recommend this shop to all of my friends, family and anyone in need of quality work. I have used Ben since he was at Midas years ago. Even there, he was friendly and above all else--honest. He has since expanded his operation, gone out on his own, and added some great talent to his shop. Ben even once CAME TO MY HOME to fix my car at no additional cost to myself. Top that! I am so happy that Ben has opened this new shop! I went to Ben and his technicians when they were at Midas. My truck is 15 years old and I feel very confident when I bring it in for any type of service , be it an oil change, brakes and tire rotation or when I had to have my clutch and transmission replaced just recently. They are extremely courteous and will get you back on the road in a timely manner. They even assisted me renting a car when I had to leave my truck to get the transmission fixed. I have always been very satisfied with his work and prices. I do drive alittle further to go see him but it has always been worth my time to do so. I've known Ben Galusha for years. Ben is one of the best mechanics around. He can diagnose and fix any problem. He is the "Bengineer". He should have opened his own shop years ago.
