On a very hot day recently the AC on my 2012 Nissan Rogue went out. I googled local places and found this business. It was a Saturday morning about a week ago and I woke up early to take my car in as soon as the place opened. I got there right away and went in and was greeted by Ben the owner. He was so very friendly and very eager to help. I explained the situation to him, he came looked at the car. I was desperate because i have a 2 y/o daughter ( he noticed the car seat) and that i was going on a long road trip the next day and I was desperate to get my car fixed. Ben took urgency under consideration and within the hour he got the car diagnosed himself. He told me that my AC'c compressor and the clutch went out and were completely done. By 9 am he put the order in for parts from a local distributor. I left the car with him hoping that there were no other major issues found with the AC once they started the repair. By 11:30am I got a call from Ben telling everything went great and car is ready for pickup !!!! I was shocked as how quick and so happy I rushed back to the shop to find my AC working like brand new. I was so very thankful for Ben and finding his business. I did not notice that on Saturdays they close at Noon so they went above and beyond to repair my car and get the car back to me. They diagnosed and fixed the car within 3 hours and this was from not having an appointment. I am so happy and Ben told me that they took my issue personally so that my baby and family can have a working AC for the road-trip in these hot temps. I felt like a family friend took over the car issue and fixed the car with so much urgency. I am so very thankful to have found "Burbank Auto Doctor" and I will be coming back to them for any future needs. These guys get an F for repair and service. I took my car into a closer mechanic for a quick oil change. The mechanic there noticed that the drain plug was stripped, so he could not do an oil change for me. He told me who ever worked on your car last torqued the bolt so much it damaged the threading. Well...guess who were the last people that did my oil change? Yes, burbank auto doctor. Already a little irritated and concerned that I might have to shell out $400-500 to replace the entire oil tank, I drive over to auto doctor to see how they will explain.... I met with Ben, and he had the audacity to tell me that it's because the aluminum wore out and they don't warranty the bolt. I understand the aluminum is a weak metal, but for that bolt to be completely stripped you really have to put A LOT of force and OVER TIGHTEN it to wear it out. They charged me to get a sleeve for the bolt to help screw the bolt in. Was not much, but why do I have to pay for their mess? Continuing on...one of the mechanics lights up a cigarette and decides to smoke right underneath my car while he's working with oil. THIS is the level of "expertise" they have. I don't care if they torch their shop down, but show a little respect and decency your customer's property. Not to mention.. I had to wait for Ben to finish a personal call to talk to him.. this is after he interrupted me in the middle of a sentence to take this call. After an 2 hours, they finally put the sleeve on and screw on the drain bolt. Great...but, doesn't end here..they kept telling me "We saved you from $350 today...and that's a good thing." ....That's a good thing? Heh. No. They should feel lucky they saved THEMSELVES from ME reporting them to the automotive bureau! Too bad..these guys want their business to go down the drain, no problem..thought they were "honest, professional" mechanics..guess not. *In Response to Ben's reply to my comment* Hmm...need I say more? FYI I DID CALL THE DEALER, IN FACT I DID IT WHILE YOU WERE WORKING ON MY CAR! HIS NAME IS MICHAEL FROM VAN NUYS VW DEALER TALK TO HIM! They told me you have to really OVER torque the bolt to strip the bolt! I even got a written notice from the previous mechanic that took a look and told me it was over tightened and stripped! As for your "dying customer", first of all,god bless whoever that person was, but that's a personal issue between YOU and that PERSON. Has nothing to do with me. At least excuse yourself! Don't waste my time and answer your phone while I'm in the middle of a sentence and expect me to wait around for you and be ok with it. That's extremely rude and inconsiderate. Firing your co worker for smoking WHILE YOU STOOD NEXT TO HIM does not fix anything. In fact, it makes you look like an irresponsible owner for ALLOWING THIS. Unprofessional, and not to mention idiotic. In my opinion, you both should not be licensed mechanics. Sad to think I was going to let this go, besides from all this BS, seeing that your trying to make it seem like I'm some bad person for "interrupting you" from talking to a "dying customer" PLUS threatening your own co worker using this situation as an excuse instead of your own irresponsible actions...Shameful and Low... I might just take this to the bureau now. I'm sure the bureau would love to see a pic of you and your friend fixing my car and smoking at the same time. You treat people this way, then expect the same respect back. read more

I was having issues w my '69 Cadillac and took it to a mechanic who told me it was a carburetor issue and that they don't work on them so he referred me to someone who specialized w carburetors 10mins away- my car barely made it there before completely pooping out - a gentleman by the name of Carlos took a quick look and was able to determine the carburetor was fine but it might've been an electrical issue that he doesn't work on. LUCKILY, Ben and his team at Burbank Auto Doctor were on the same property - and they were more than happy to take the time and check it out- with no hesitation, they stopped what they were doing and Ben and Greg dove right in and started testing the wiring- they were extremely nice and seemed very thorough as I waited- unfortunately w old cars like these, there can be a number of issues- they rolled it into the garage and told me they need more time to figure it out (it was at the end of their work day). Just by their attitude and hospitality alone, I was confident that the car was in good hands! I came home and checked their awesome Yelp reviews- and now I'm even more comfortable! The car is now in their hands- hope they can get her back into working order at a reasonable price for the nice weather! I have my fingers crossed- thanks so much Ben and Greg for being real cool and I look forward to hearing back when she's back in running condition! If things work out, I'll definitely be a repeat customer! Update to follow! and here's the update: still awesome! Ben and Greg are super cool. Had a few hiccups w the caddy, but it's over 40 yrs old, totally expected. Ben called me several times along the way to give me updates and to get my okay on prices before moving forward. I checked out this place after I got a suspicious diagnosis on my car from another shop. My serpentine belt needed replacing, not unusual for a 5 year old car in a high heat climate. I just wanted to mention how good Ben, Lee , Jason and the guys are here at Burbank Auto Doctor. The check engine light went on the dash board. I stopped here after work on a Friday Afternoon. I had never been here before. Ben (owner) stopped what he was doing and brought the portable meter over and plugged it in to read the code. All for Free ! I must add !! When does someone and something happen like that. I was impressed that he knew what he was doing. He spent 15 minutes on my car. It appeared it was the # 1 cylinder not firing properly. I bought it back the next Day and it was fixed in a few hours for a great price of $138.00. A bargain, as I had stopped down the street prior and the shop there wanted $95.00 just to read the code. I'm sorry to hear about the experience the one star reviewer had. It makes me wonder if Burbank Auto Doctor is as good as I think. I had an awful time with Bert's Garage over in Hollywood, so when I needed work on my brakes I took it over to see the Dr. Since then, Burbank Auto Doctor has fixed my car up for what I feel is a reasonable amount and delivered my car to me on time every time. This review is long overdue, but hopefully this will help show the lengths they'll go to for their customers. I brought my Nissan Sentra in for its 100,000 mile check up, new headlights, and tire problems several months ago. At the time, I had a slow leak in my front tire. While they don't sell tires there, when I brought my car in, Jason handed me the phone, gave me a few numbers to call to shop around for the best tire for my car. He helped me negotiate a reasonable price for the type of tire I needed for my car, (actually had to get two), but that's not where the excellent customer service came in. What he did next was fantastic... I ended up going with the GoodYear that was down the street, and Jason had me pay for my tires over the phone, and then, while they were doing the 100,000 checkup on my car, brought the wheels over to the tire place, had the tires put on there, and then brought them back and put them on my car so I wouldn't have to make a separate trip the the tire store after the maintenance on my car was done. The maintenance and tires were all taken care of within the same day and the costs, while you'll never be "happy" with them, were quite reasonable, and the work that was done was excellent. My car drives better now than it has for a long time and I will certainly be going back there for all my future needs...including oil changes! Thanks Dr!!! read more

I brought my car in for a quote about a month ago. I knew what the problem with my A/C was as diagnosed by another local mechanic. I let them know what the problem was and left my car so it could be checked out and a quote written up. The quote was a few hundred higher than the other shop and I was out $70 for a diagnostic, when I already knew the problem. I finally got to Auto Doctor today to do the alignment along with an oil change. I was looking for someone to fix the cabin fan in my 2006 Toyota Tacoma. They are notorious for burning out and the dealer wanted almost $300 to fix it. My husband and I have used Burbank Auto Doctor for the last couple years for both our cars. We are quite happy with them. They seem to know their stuff, and we do not feel for one second like they would ever try to rip us off. On the contrary, we have had them tell us that our last car, for example, needed so many repairs it would probably be better just to get a new one. They could've nickel and dimed us to death, but they didn't. They were honest, and I believe that is their standard policy--honesty. I make particular point of this because I know that honesty in a mechanic is always the number one priority for me. They also get our cars back in a timely manner, and do not overcharge. Ben is a great person yet unfortauntely the last time i went there instead of fixing what i asked for he ended up doing something completely different an charging me over 500 bucks for something which i didnt ask for. he has aided me in the past involving all matters with regards to automobile problems nevertheless the last time i went there i ended up paying a lot more than i planned and getting things fixed which according to others afterwards didnt need fixing right away. As a result I decided to change to deeds automotive highly recommended by several people. It's so wonderful to find HONEST mechanics in this world!!! I know absolutely nothing about cars and because of that, I've been taken advantage of many times. I recently needed a 120,000 miles all around checkup (or whatever you call it....see? I know nothing ;)) for my older Toyota and I got quotes from people ranging all the way up to $2000! Mechanics know I'm naive and jack the price up! I, in turn, went to Burbank Auto Doctor who had been referred by a friend. First of all, right away I felt comfortable! Ben and Mike were so kind and thorough, and made sure to look over my car and really only work on what NEEDED to be done and charge me as such. How refreshing!!! They could've, like everyone else, taken me for a spin with the "oh you need this, that, such and the other and it would be 'unsafe' to let you leave the lot without this work done.....thank you that'll be $2,000....enjoy your new hubcaps and exhaust pipe!" (Or something else totally not needed but claimed be.) ....but No!!! They understand that in this world, honesty and compassion in your work, makes life and our interactions with one another so much better!! Trust is so valuable.
