I was looking for a barber shop with more of a traditional feel. I'm not into all the edgy new styles. Just a modest but professional beard trim was all I needed. Though Parlour wasn't the closest to my home, it seemed like a place to try. I was right. Alex greeted me and got right down to business, asking detailed questions to ensure he knew exactly how I wanted my beard cared for. Not only that, there were no surprises. No decisions made on the fly, no random trims or snips that all of us who care about our glorious beards know would have made us sit up with a "WTF!" Alex was great. I called and made an appointment at 3:30pm with Eric. When I got there he said my appointment was for 3:45 PM and even then I had to wait an additional 15 minutes. When it was time for my son's haircut he sincerely apologize for the wait which I appreciated. I did like my son's haircut and I felt he did a good job. What I didn't like was the amount of dirt, leaves, spiderwebs and trash that was all over the floors and walls and equipment. I also personally saw the owner hanging out and drinking a beer in the back while his client was waiting upfront. Just shows that he doesn't really care about his establishment. So, I was in a pinch and needed my haircut. I decided to go look up and call up Parlour on Magnolia I made an appointment for the next day, morning. As I walked in the door I was greeted and asked if I had an appointment, as I said yes I do with Eric. In 10 minutes I was in the chair introduced myself and explained what I wanted. I have to say it was one of the more pleasurable times I have ever got my haircut. The conversation flowed in and out up-and-down without a hiccup. We talked about hot rods, working out, life, and relationships. As well as involving other barbers to chime in on our conversation. Pretty unexpected I should say. But nevertheless it was great! If you have the means definitely give these guys an opportunity to cut your hair. They won't let you down. My barber Eric was great, I appreciated his input and stories as he valued mine it seemed. I have been going to Parlour since almost the day they opened! Alex is the best stylist that you will thank me later for telling you about. I used to go to school up north in a little land called Chico. In that land barbers were next to none which allowed me to have two separate identities. One identity was fresh cut post summer/winter break and big bowl bush head identity because I wouldn't allow anyone else to touch my hair. If you want the synopsis: I wouldn't let anyone cut my hair because Alex spoiled me with too many GREAT haircuts. Even if Chico suddenly got an abundance of Paul Mitchells and Scrappy CoCo's I would still not let anyone else to touch my head. Came here for the first time this afternoon. No appointment. They were able to accommodate me as a walk in. First impression from the exterior front. Love the look of the window, store front, chess set table with chairs, everything. Walked in. Was immediately greeted by the barber at the first chair. The interior has a rustic modern feel to it. Several flat screen tvs. Nice lighting. They have approximately eight chairs. Armando was my barber. Very easy going dude. I come from a family that owns a barber shop and I immediately noticed how attentive he was. He listened from the start. He was in absolutely no hurry to get me off the chair. Made sure he understood what I needed. The haircut was pretty close to the best cut I've had in a very long time. I had a good conversation with Armando and I'll be honest he established trust with me very quickly. Armando is very in tune to his craft and believe me when I tell you this guy is still learning to master it. So when a barber tells you he's still working on his potential and he's this good, I'd like to see what the full potential looks like. I paid attention to the barbers at the shop and it appeared they were all pretty good. But I can tell you I'll be back at this shop and will most likely stay loyal to Armando. This review is for Danny...I think the pictures say it all. I wasn't there for the haircut but you bet I wouldn't have let him leave there with this CHOPPY and UNEVEN mess! The haircut looked fine when wet and combed but once dried you can see all the imperfections. It was such a half-assed job. It looks like he attempted to layer the left side, ditched that plan when he got to the back, and just chopped up the right side. For the bangs, it looks like he started to point cut but took too much off and gave up mid way. Like seriously?? This is by far one of the worse haircuts I've seen! read more

Cruz has been my go-to barber for nearly a year now. I don't have a fancy haircut-two on the sides and the front pushed up-but Cruz always does a FANTASTIC job. He does a great job fading the back, and uses a straight razor on your neck and around your hairline. Aftershave follows. Fantastic! He starts the experience by offering you a drink-beer, water, bourbon-and starts talking to you about what you're looking for in a haircut. He never rushes (the whole process takes about 45 minutes) and makes sure that you're satisfied with his work. Parking is rough, but you'll find a spot eventually. The haircut costs $30, which I feel is about right. They accept walk-ins, but if you're coming in on a weekend, you're better off making a reservation. Cruz uses the Barber Post app (under "Cruz the Barber"), not sure what the other guys use. read more

I've been getting my haircut by Andy lately, so I checked out this place when he started cutting at the Parlour. Andy and everyone else were friendly! The shop was clean and I enjoyed the shop environment. As always, Andy took the time to make sure I was satisfied with my cut and I'd highly recommend him! I went in on a weekend afternoon and it was very busy. While I was getting my haircut, about 5 people came in for walk-ins, but were unfortunately steered away because all the barbers were booked for the entire day. After 2 years my husband has finally found a barbershop he likes. We got lucky and was able to snag my husband an appointment pretty much right away when they opened. This place is legit, a cut is $25. No shampoo. Environment is nice, nice comfy couch as you wait. I believe they take both appointments and walk-ins. Parking is street parking. I got a cut with the guy with a fedora, i described to him what i wanted and he instantly knew what i was talking about. I have been here to this barbershop before and have always gotten a good cut. The place itself is great and has a laid back feel and the barber's are friendly. The reason for the low star rating is because today I never made it into the chair to get a cut. I scheduled an appointment today for 1:30pm and showed up a few minutes early and was told that someone would be right with me. Well after about 20 minutes of waiting I decided I had enough of waiting and left. I know I left on my own accord but when making an appointment one would expect that the establishment would keep their appointment and at the very least just let you know that they can't take you or how about just being on time or within in a few minutes of the clients appointment. I'm sure the two guys that were there had every intention of getting to me but a little communication could have gone a long way. read more

Although it was a hour before closing and they were down three barbers. We were immediately greeted,offered a beverage and accommodated. Being a hairdresser myself I noticed everyone there was very skilled barbers. But one Barber stood out to me the most, Armondo. Vary detail orientated, listen to his clients and actually asked his clients questions. I went here for a haircut because I wanted to try some place new, the reviews were excellent so I made an appointment. The haircut was average, the back of my head could of been done better. To top it all off they even raised the price on me for future appointments to $30 which to me is not worth it. My haircut was no better then what I get at Quick Cuts for $12. I hate to write one star reviews on new businesses but damn they f**ked up my hair. I went for the first time today and some greaser guy with tattoos cut my hair, he was on the second to last chair. He literally cut my hair in 20 min which is probably why my hair is messed up. The fade was horrible you can literally see the lines and the back my head, I have bald spots all over the place. I will put pictures up for everyone to see. I paid 25 for the cut and I gave a 5 dollar tip but this will be the last time I go. The guy was super rude with the customers and very blunt. The white guy next to him was nice and trying assist the customers after the guy was rude. The white guy would offer customer water and stuff while they were waiting. On the positive side. Here's the thing... Magnolia in Burbank has about 25 places to get your hair cut. Seriously. Count them one day. So I was unclear why another one would open up, but it turns out that it's a welcome addition to the neighborhood. They aren't breaking any new ground in the concept ("gentleman" focus, beer while you wait, old school cool meets big screen TVs), but they do really good work. That being said I have 2 issues: 1. Have loud music, or loud TVs, but not both. (Maybe I am just getting old. LOL) 2. Get a little better organized in terms of communication, setting appointments, etc. There's technology out there to help. My cut was done by Mark - and while it turns out it was his first day, he gave me a great cut. I will be back. read more

Walked in there was one guy in the chair getting a cut and another sweeping hair with a vest with pockets that had scissors and combs obviously a barber no one in his chair I asked if they take walk in response from the guy sweeping was yes but they were fully booked then he went on to tell me they only do appointments.
