I was honestly a bit hesitant to lighten my hair as I was afraid of damaging my hair. I didn't want to lose the healthy glow my hair had. I found Burbank Hair Salon online. I called to first get a quote for a hair color. Karine reviewed a reference photo I texted, and the appointment was confirmed for the next day. She was very kind, and professional. The products appear to be a great quality, and the salon is very clean. But the (major) issue I had is that the color requested, was not the color I received. The reference photo I showed was a dark purple, and a test patch I came in with (on strands towards the back of neck) was the same purple color I wanted my hair to be. The color I ended up with, was not what I asked for. My hair is now a pink-red tone, depending on the light. I told Karine that the color was off, and she claimed that the color applied, was (to her) a version of purple. Maybe the color she applied happened to be named "purple", or "violet", or something similar - it doesn't matter what the color is called, it doesn't match the color references I gave her. She should have let me know if she had the color/ability to deliver the look. Adding to the disappointment was that it was an expensive, 6+ hour event (my hair is pretty long). Once she finished, it was too late that day for me to ask for a correction. I decided it would be best to go home and think about what to do (paid full price). After some thought, I realized it wouldn't do any good to ask for the full color to be fixed. I wasn't sure it would be achieved at that salon. I decided to ask for at least the roots to be redone, since that was another aspect that bothered me. There was about 1-2 inches of the roots that were left too dark, like if I had not done my hair in several weeks. I was accommodated pretty quick for an appointment, and had the roots corrected (free of charge). Ultimately, while I think the ladies might be proficient at standard cuts/colors, I wouldn't recommend this salon for anyone interested in doing unconventional colors. Simply THE BEST! I've been coming here for the last 2 to 3 years after I stopped going to a local competitor. I bring my three young boys here for their monthly cuts and I cut my hair here too. The ladies here are professional, knowledgeable and by far, experts for all types of mens and boys cuts. They offer cookies and candy for little ones while I am always offered coffee on all my visits. The establishment is recently remodeled, super clean and the floors are swept after every cut (and sometimes in-between cuts). I know they offer a full slate of services for women, none of which I understand, but my wife has also come here on many occasions and is happy with their services! The business truly offers a "family" feel from the minute you walk in to the moment you leave. If this was a report card, they'd get an A+. But here on Yelp, it's an unequivocal 5 STARS! read more

I was very hesitant going into this salon, as I would be for any salon as a matter of fact, since it was my first time dying my virgin hair but I was impressed. I wasn't sure if I wanted balayage, ombré, or to go full, but Gohar helped me decide and the color came out PERFECTLY! I trusted her completely and looooved the outcome.
