Melo is the absolute best! She is worth every penny she charges. She was the superhero on my wedding day. Allow me to share what happened. 1) First of all Melo fixed my bridal hair better than I could have ever imagined. You know how we often have no idea how the end result is going to be until the stylist is done? Melo is different. How she works forces you to trust her wholeheartedly. You will not be disappointed. This bride was as happy as can be. 2) Because Melo was booked after my early 4 a.m. appointment, I had to book someone else to do my mom's hair. I booked ( @veronique__hairstylist ) to do my mom's hair. Veronika was an epic failure every step of the way. - After my mom had scheduled to have Veronika check out the extensions about a week before the wedding (the ones that were to be used on the day of the wedding), Veronika was 3 hours late to the scheduled appointment. She blamed traffic. - The night before the wedding Veronika contacted my mom to let her know that she "had hurt her hand and so [she] could not do" my mom's hair the next day. Veronika said to not worry though because she had arranged for her friend to do my mom's hair instead. - Veronika's friend's name is Lilit Grigoryan ( @hairstylist__lilit). She was supposed to use all of the extensions to create a voluminous ponytail for the bride's mom. When my mom came home from Lilit, she was on the verge of crying, but trying to stay strong so that the bride's mood was not negatively affected. The more blunt guests could not help but ask what the heck happened to my mom's hair. The ponytail was not even gathered together neatly. Some parts were brushed unevenly, and sprayed to stay in that uneven way. The ponytail back was worse than the front. Lilit just used ONE of the whole pack of extensions. My mind is absolutely blown why anyone would do this--even an untrained child would understand that having a single 2 centimeter long strand alongside thick strands of hair that are all about 4 inches shorter than the single extension is not a good look. I KNEW IMMEDIATELY WHAT TO DO WHEN I SAW THE MESS ON MY MOM'S HEAD. I CALLED MELO. MELO CHECKED HER SCHEDULE AND ACCOMMODATED MY MOM. AFTER THE BRIDAL HOME CEREMONY, MELO FIXED MY MOM'S HAIR SOOOOOOOO BEAUTIFULLY. THE DIFFERENCE WAS NIGHT AND DAY. I AM ETERNALLY GRATEFUL THAT MELO SAVED MY WEDDING. The reason I'm giving this hairstylist (who is also a makeup artist) one star instead of zero stars is because I actually liked her Instagram pictures of some of her updos. However, she was utterly tactless with me over the phone when I attempted to schedule an appointment for my mother in law to get her hair and makeup done as a trial before our wedding day. She was pretty much outraged saying "I'm an artist, what I do is art!! You will never achieve the same look twice..." So I gently explained to her that I still wanted to do this so that my mother in law could atleast have experience with the process as she's never gotten her makeup or hair done by another person. Long story short, her rash tactlessness just continued over the phone and she kept asking about how many people I'd be booking for the actual wedding day. My response? 0 people :-) You see you can be an average stylist but a pleasant attitude will keep your customer grateful and happy... But even a truly talented stylist will develop a crappy reputation if their attitude stinks for miles. It's really a shame that I even took my time to call her up. Melineh is amazing! Not only is her work flawless, she has the highest level of customer service and professionalism. I contacted many of the typical vendors in Glendale for my big day and they were all rude, like they're doing me a favor by even talking to me when I'm paying them over $1000 for hair and makeup. Melo was warm, caring and asked me what I wanted, what look I was going for, included a trial, tried different looks, changed head pieces and even said stop at the salon if you need a touch up, I'll be there all night just in case!
