My car was broken into so I decided to get an alarm installed, I can and the guy said it should be about four hours to install so I waited. Ended up being about 6 hours and him not even being able to finish. So I ended up coming back. He installed and it started to malfunction. So I came back to fix it(keep in mind that's three days already) The guy couldn't figure out what what wrong to save his life. He started making excuses that the brand of cAr has a lot of problems. It's a brand new car, I've never had a problem with it before I brought it to him. Now I have an alarm that doesn't work, lose parts from his install and some wires that have damage to them. I'm scared to bring it back and have them take it out because they can cause more damage. These guys must be use to working on older cars cause they don't have a clue what's going on. read more

I don't do yelp often, but with Sinhue and Burbank Sounds, I had to. First, I have a 25 foot Tritoon party boat with a so so stereo system that was hard to here when the boat was moving at a good clip. I wanted to upgrade the system. I went to Burbank Sounds and Sinhue inspected my boat and gave me his opinion that it needed 2 additional speakers and a 2 channel amp. Also, my original speakers were partially blown. When he was done I got 6 high end Cerwin Vega speakers, a 2 channel Cerwin amp, and a new Alpine stereo. He left the original 4 channel amp in the boat, but suggested that I may want to upgrade from that down the line. The sound is incredible. Clear, loud, with no distortion at all. I am VERY pleased. And he got it all done in 1 day. I brought the boat in on Tuesday afternoon, and it was completed by Wednesday afternoon. Folks. I'll tell you, I am very picky on who I allow to work on my car, truck, or boat, and Sinhue & his team have won me over for good. Go check his business out, you won't be disappointed at all. I had my BMW shipped from the East Coast. When it arrived, it looked like someone went off-roading in the damn thing in the time since I had last seen it. I was pissed! The windows and mirrors were pitted and splotchy. The upholstery liner was in shambles, and a family of bees had claimed the inside of the rear windshield as their tomb. The front bumper was coming off, the side panel was hanging down and the back driver's side passenger door wouldn't fully close. I'm thinking I need to junk the thing and file a claim with insurance. Instead, I take the advice of a friend and give the guys at Burbank Sounds a shot at bringing my car back to life. No easy task. My car was wrecked and I didn't have a lot of money to spend. The guy on the phone was amazing! You could tell he really knew his stuff. Not your average auto SOUND shop. I gave him the make, model and year and made an appointment. To my surprise, the shop was a veritable rock Mecca -- somebody likes Ministry, but that's besides the point. The staff was courteous and professional. They went right at it. Ringo, the tinter/shop manager, gave me an amazing deal. Then, Roberto put his hand in the mix. He took out the lights only to find that things were worse than I had thought. Not to worry. Everyone hopped into action. Some rocker guy ran off to the BMW supplier to grab new parts. I was expecting to really feel it in the wallet now. A few hours later, the job was done. I went back to the garage and didn't even recognize my car. It looked entirely new, better than when I had left it at my parents' garage. As for the price -- much, much less than I had feared. These are good guys, and they treated me right. I can't wait to have them do more to pimp my ride. I might even score another hug from Sylvia, the owner. Before coming here,I called for a quote for a simple module install,spoke with Sin (some rocker/musician)and gave me the quote for $30.I showed up at the store and asked again if the quote was still the same,Sin agreed to get the install done for the price.Their installer was so old that he wasn't familiar with the part he was installing for me.It became so frustrating! After he figured it out,there was this old lady named Sylvia who was getting involved with the install.To my suprise,as I was about to pay for the service, they were charging me triple that I was quoted for!! I was so pissed I felt that I was duped! As an update, things didn't work out. The alarm package they sold me resulted to not be authorized by the manager Sylvia, so bottom line I didn't get it, even though I waited for more than 4 months. That said, I can't recommend this place anymore since they had to have this under their control. Make sure if you really need to get something done here, to have it authorized by her to be on the safe side, and have them specifically write on your receipt what you are paying for with a brief description of what the parts do. read more

My experience at Burbank Sounds was stellar. My alarm got stuck in valet mode after a battery jump on the way from Burbank to San Francisco. Sin turned me over to his very capable technician who was able to diagnose and fix the problem right away. Considering I didn't even buy the alarm there, it was fantastic customer service. I went to my local Honda dealer to get my auxiliary port fixed. They were going to charge me $1500 to replace my old stereo with the same one I already had. I knew there had to be a better option. Less than two hours for less than $400 I had a fully installed and upgraded radio! Best service ever. I had Burbank Sounds work on my 2016 Ford Transit twice now. First, when I purchased the vehicle in 2016 I had Burbank Sounds do the window tint, which looks as great today as it did when it was first applied. Recently I purchased a rear view mirror dvr that contains a camera in the mirror and a back camera. I bought the part on Amazon and had Burbank Sounds do the install. I recently had my cars windows tinted here after I shopped around for the best price. Rigo the Tinter was very nice and did a great job! Since I had a great experience I took my daughters car in to have an IPod adaptor installed to work with her factory stereo. The price was very reasonable and the job took a little over an hour. Needless to say, my daughter is very happy. I will be coming back to have a Car Alarm installed soon! Nice shop with a very friendly staff. Satisfied customer here. read more

This place is terrible. Had them do a tint job on a classic vehicle years ago and they did ok. Brought another car in for an alarm and ended up with a broken door piece, a missing screw on door handle, a cracked handle on other door and scratches on the outside of my car that appeared to be covered up with some terrible touch up paint! The installer blamed the car for being old (it's a collector car) that things broke. They denied the scratches and still to this time have not replaced the broken parts. I have gotten my insurance involved and will probably take further litigation. DO NOT GO HERE!! read more

I had them install my radar detector that was mounted to my rear view mirror. I was told by others they couldn't do it or it was to much work. After searching for a CD Changer for the last couple of months and discovering CD Changers are no longer in existence, I decided to give Burbank Sounds a call to have my after-market stereo taken out and replace with the manufacture car stereo. Sylvia was EXTREMELY helpful & friendly. After explaining to her what had happen with my old CD Changer, she told me she may have a brand new CD Changer in stock from a previous customer who didn't want it after she ordered it for the customer. This was the exact same CD Changer that I had in my vehicle and it was a perfect fit. As you my have guessed, I am an EXTREMELY happy customer coming to Burbank Sounds. I've been so busy, but finally got the time to sit down and write a review of my experience with Burbank Sounds. One Saturday last summer (Sat 8/15/12), I stopped by right when the shop opened at 9AM to have the tint on my Jeep removed. The lady (Sylvia?) who helped me offered me a discounted price if I pay cash (to avoid paying the sales tax perhaps? Which is kinda illegal). I was charged somewhere between $100.00-$150.00 to have the tint removed off 7 windows (two front doors, two rear doors, two privacy glass, and the rear hatch), and I was informed it will take a few hours (REALLY!!?!? The first customer to arrive and no one was there). That would've been fine if I didn't know I was grossly overcharged (I will explain how I came to that conclusion later in this review) and what would happen after I went to pick-up my car. The shop tech came by to pick me up, and when I got to the shop, I can see the shoddy workmanship in plain sight. Not only were there water dripping everywhere (especially the rear hatch), the defrost clip (attached to the rear glass for the defroster) was detached and soaked with water. I was told it's done and was left to my own devices. So, I reattached the clips myself. I then got in my car, and the battery was dead. I went in the shop and ask for some help, the technician came out to help me, and we stood in the hot burning some for at least 10 minutes, waiting for him to jump my car. I asked him why did my car die, and he said it was due to the fact that he had to repeatedly open and close the windows, and that's why wore the battery down. I didn't know a car battery would die so easily just by operating the windows. The technician's tone was condescending and made me felt like it was my fault that the battery died. After I drove off the lot, I see the check engine light stayed on. I drove back and ask the technician if that's an issue and he said it will go off after awhile. It didn't. I then drove to my trusted mechanic @ Olive Auto Care (Ali is the best!), and they ran a diagnostic on the battery and I was informed the batter was bad. Funny, the battery was perfectly fine before I went to Burbank Auto Sound. So I had to replace the battery, which cost me over $250.00! Not only did they managed to break my battery (how is that possible), they left glue all over the windows. So why did I say I was grossly overcharged here? Well, I had my retinted (went lighter) @ Solar Craft back in December but had to removed them again because I'm moving to Providence RI where any aftermarket tint is illegal. This time I went to Simon's Stereo on Lankershim in NoHo, and I was quoted only $75.00! I had only the two front windows' tint removed (for now) and it only cost $25.00. If I lost my mind and went back to Burbank Sounds, they would've probably charged me $25.00 PER GLASS!!! So, to summarize, if you want your car tinted, go to Solar Craft on Burbank Blvd in Burbank, they are legit, fair, and provide wonderful service. And the workmanship? Fantastic. If you need to have your tint removed, go to Simon's Stereo on Lankershim in NoHo, they charge fairly and will not rob you blind. As for Burbank Sounds, well, if you want to get robbed blind and be treated like it's an honor to be their customer (instead of the other way around), go for it. But for me, I will never, ever, ever, EVER go back to this place. read more
