I walked out w/ 2 jean skirts, a black leather skirt, a pink top, a silicone lift pasty & a chain belt. I spent $120 total but honestly I'm not mad about it. The skirts are SO comfy & stretchy. I asked her why I couldn't use it today, especially since the offer clearly says that I'm able to get 10% off by following them, and clearly says to show an employee. She still refused to honor the discount and didn't give me a clear reason. If the promotion is being advertised, customers should be able to use it according to the terms. Very disappointing experience and, unfortunately, I won't be coming back. Worst experience.

My wife and I were there during our vacation over the Christmas holiday when she spotted a $5,000 leather Burberry coat that was on sale that she wanted. They didn't have her small size until a girl named Erica found one in the back. We carefully inspected it right there and then, and it was flawless, so I decided that I was going to get it as a Christmas present for my wife. I wanted it shipped back to my home state, and I had asked for a Burberry box since it was a gift. When we came back from our vacation on Christmas day, the Burberry coat had arrived. Not only did it NOT come with a gift box, but it also had this quarter-size pen mark on the collar, and someone had tried to clean it off, but left a bigger mark there instead. The coat was placed backwards inside a garment bag, so that we couldn't see the pen mark and damage when we first unzipped the bag. I had never seen my wife so disappointed and shocked before when we took the coat out. This was deliberately done. We both grew up in Southern California, went to UCLA and then UCSF for medical school. We shopped at South Coast Plaza all of our lives. This is South Coast Plaza, and there is a standard here, a high one, that keeps us and many others coming back again and again. Whether this Erica girl deliberately sent us a marked and damaged $5,000 leather Burberry coat or not I can't be sure. But what I am certain of, is that she was in charge of the handling of that coat, and to get it to us (it was NOT damaged when we were there inspecting it). And that is how it arrived to us damaged. Whether it is her or someone in shipping or anyone else there who handled this coat after we purchased it, this should have never happened, and the damaged coat should never have been sent out or sold to a customer. You would think the Burberry employees at South Coast Plaza were trained better than this. We thought we were going to have one of the best Christmas in a long time, but instead it became one of the worst ever. We will never shop at Burberry at South Coast Plaza again. I would rather take my business to the Rodeo Drive or the San Diego locations, since their customer service are head and shoulders above, and I know that my expensive purchases will be handled correctly, as they always have been before, and that we will never be disappointed. I purchased a Burberry bag from the Burberry store in Costa Mesa. I have never seen nor experienced such poor customer service from a high end store. The bag I had purchased had stitches that started to unravel after less than five months of light use. The bag was in excess of $1500 and should last much longer than this. Unfortunately Burberry only stands behind their product for only 30 days from date of purchase, when nothing really happens to the product. I requested for store credit or exchange, given the defective product. The sales associates were very rude, argumentative and very temperamental, all of which can be verified through the store cameras. I asked for the store manager, but was informed he/she was not there and that no one could assist me in the meantime. I asked for the associates name and she would not disclose her real name, until I threatened to contact the District Manager. Sadly, Nordstrom stands behind the Burberry products they sell more than Burberry stands behind its own products. I would not recommend purchasing anything from Burberry directly, especially the Costa Mesa store, unless your willing to go through te same experience. Unfortunately I was not the only mistreated customer, as there were many others before me. This is the norm at this store. read more

Executive management of Hugo Boss overseeing these customer reviews: If you are reading this review, I would highly encourage you to review management procedures at this location as the employees and management team of this store are not representing the brand of Hugo Boss in a professional manner. As consumers and long-term clients, simple acts like this make us never want to shop at the brand again. Paying $200 for a dress shirt is not cheap and we as consumers have many options at other stores. I felt belittled, scammed and terrible after leaving the store. Thank you a lot, Edward!

I want to give special recognition to Catherine in Asset Protection at Nordstrom South Coast Plaza…read more I had lost a pair of very sentimental black-and-white scalloped sunglasses that belonged to my late mother. They are irreplaceable to me, and I was incredibly upset thinking they might be gone for good. Catherine treated the situation with real care and urgency. After I spoke with her, she reviewed the video footage right away. She found me on the footage, confirmed the time I was in the store, and saw the key detail that solved everything: I had walked out of Nordstrom with the sunglasses on my head. Because Catherine caught that detail, I realized the glasses were not lost at Nordstrom and had to be at my next stop. I called Free People Movement in Marina del Rey, and they had them. I got them back. Catherine's professionalism, patience, and attention to detail made all the difference. She didn't dismiss the situation. She helped me figure out what actually happened, and because of her, I was reunited with something that meant a great deal to me. I have been a Nordstrom customer for many years, and people like Catherine are exactly why Nordstrom has always stood out to me. Please make sure she and her managers know how grateful I am. She asked about my day, quickly and kindly helped with my transaction and left me with a smile. Unfortunately, just prior to working with Mimi, I had attempted to request help from an associate at the Reformation section, to no avail. Initially, I noticed an associate chatting with other customers while behind the counter (this was around 1:30 pm on a Saturday) and the associate, Julie (I believe), asked me to wait a minute because she would be right back. After waiting at the counter for several minutes I lost hope and went over to another counter. Later, when I came back around I saw the aforementioned associate ringing up other customers at a nearby counter. I'm not one to make presumptions, but it did come across as if the associate cared more about increasing her immediate sales volume than actually assisting customers. At the very least, it would be nice if she had kept her word after telling a customer she'd be "right" back instead of ghosting them. Overall, I would give 5 stars to half of the employees here and 1 to the other half. Consistency is key!
