Recently purchase a duffle jacket from Bloomingdale's but there was a crease in it that made it uncomfortable to wear (collar would pop up in my face). I did an online chat with Burberry and they assured me that the Burberry store would be able to do an exchange for me since Bloomingdale's no longer had it in my size. I drove down to this Burberry location and was initially told by a sales associate and manager that they only accepted exchanges for purchases made directly with Burberry. I mentioned that the online sales associate assured me that they would accept exchanges due to defects (I purchased the jacket last week and there should be some sort of warranty from Burberry). The manager asked if I wanted them to call Burberry HQ to confirm so I said yes. HQ told them to proceed with the exchange and they did so without giving me any more hassle. Very great to deal with after HQ confirmed that it was ok to do the exchange. Although they weren't willing to help initially, they were polite the entire time. read more

I would have to say the customer service here was kind of between a hit and a miss. When it was good it was good when it was bad it was bad. I wasn't helped until I asked which I like, but then after I asked, I felt hounded, making my shopping feel very uncomfortable. I was trying to decide between two wallets and I just felt like I was being stared at/waited on to make a decision so they could get their commission. The store had a very helpful staff, but an unfortunately dismal suit selection. There was a total of four suits in the men's section. This seems odd considering the store is in one of the most frequented malls in the world. I was told that they could be ordered. However this was a disappointment because it seems silly to order one online without trying it on first. I have been here several times, either to buy something or have a coat tailored. At both times the service was decent. I have read other comments that it can be a mixed experience, which is typical in any store. I basically come here knowing what I want and if they don't have it I say well I will order it online then. Usually that makes them work harder and try to find the item I want either in another store or they order it for me so I can pick it up in-store. Guess it is a social experiment to deal with their staff but so far the ones I had interacted with were pretty decent so I keep coming back to this store since its closest to home. read more

I've had some amazing customer service at many of the South Coast stores but it cannot top Burberry's! I've been wanting a Burberry trench for a while and almost went and got it at the Rodeo Drive location but I am so glad I came here. I've never felt more comfortable and welcome during a shopping experience before. Lusee, the one who helped me through the whole process is absolutely wonderful. It was so easy to keep in touch with her about any questions or concerns I had, and was so informative about all things trench coats such as how to style it in different ways and how to take care of it, etc. and I feel like I've made a friend through the whole experience! You can go and buy your merchandise online or at Nordstroms , but if you really want the full luxury (but not pompous) experience, you have to shop at Burberry. Everyone here is accommodating and helpful and super sweet and you won't regret coming here. read more

SCoast Burberry u have failed me. So I go to scoast today with a mission to buy a ton of stuff one is a burberry wallet for the father. So I stop by bloomingdale and they are actually having 30% off all men wallets!!! Then I thought I might as well check out the burberry store maybe they're having an even better sale (??!!) So i walk to burberry and its not theere! haha It moved to where the carousel is. So I walk in and the set up is awkward its really long so you have to keep walking in to see everything it's a little annoying on days like today (day after xmas) and there are a crapload of people lined up everywhere. So i reach the WAY back where men's wallets are and there are so many associates but no one cares to help...unlike the other store. Finally a woman asks what I need and I ask her for the prices of her wallets, if those are the only ones, and if any are on sale. She totally disregards me as a cheap-o and says " i am going to go help those people i'll come back if you keep looking" EW!! Whatever I got me a burberry wallet without having to deal with people like you at the burberry store. First of all, let me start by saying that I love Burburry products. I have coats, scarves, and purses. I took one of my purses in November for repair. This was November 8, 2012. It took them over four weeks to call me back with a $300.00 estimate which I approved, because I love my purse..Today is January 29, 2013 and I have not heard one word from them. I sent Burburry Customer service a complaint, and have not heard from them either. I hope they read my yelp review and let me know where my purse is. Somebody, anybody? HELP. Get me my purse back. Truly, I don't think I should pay any money for the time and bad service I have received. 01-31-2012. I called Burburry Customer Service and Esther called me back. She was very nice and said that my purse had been ready and they had the wrong phone number. Problem is that I have not only one, but two receipts with the proper phone number and email address. Ok so let me start by saying that I have never had bad service, till today. I don't buy burberry for myself because the stuff for ladies is just way to in your face, you know what I mean "LOOK AT ME IM WEARING BURBERRY" lol am not into bags. I buy things for my kids and husband, I don't look like some one who can afford there stuff, but I can and the first rule about retail of ANY kind, never assume what people can afford, you don't know their financial situation. I hate the way this store sells the same stuff as nordstoms/saks/neiman marcus/bloomingdales but the prices at this store are higher, and their idea of a sale is a joke. Anyway that being said I still shop for a few things I can't find anywhere else, my normal older asian lady (I am not sure of her name but she is a sweetheart) who helps me wasn't there :( I walked into the kids section and the young lady who was there was obviously about to wet her pants at the the prospect of selling one of the diaper bags to a gentlemen, that when she finally LOOKED at me standing in that small area I couldn't get a smile off her face or a "I will be right with you". I'm not entirely sure what was going on with the sales associate at this store this evening. My boyfriend went to try on a watch he had been eyeing online for a while. This was a pretty standard mens watch in black. It did not appear to be under the glass so we asked the sales associate for some assistance. This lady appeared to still be out to lunch at 8 p.m, hardly spoke any English and had zero product knowledge. They did not have the watch in stock, so she proceeded to use her iPad to go to the Burberry site to see which watch we were inquiring about (as if it did not exist). It might seem cool that the sales associates are all toting around iPads but for those of you who are not tech saavy, flash sites do not run well with the iPhone/iPad-poor oversite on Burberry's part? Anyways, if you are going to be purchasing high-end luxury, designer goods at least give me someone with an IQ above 95 and speaks english? read more

My wife and I were there during our vacation over the Christmas holiday when she spotted a $5,000 leather Burberry coat that was on sale that she wanted. They didn't have her small size until a girl named Erica found one in the back. We carefully inspected it right there and then, and it was flawless, so I decided that I was going to get it as a Christmas present for my wife. I wanted it shipped back to my home state, and I had asked for a Burberry box since it was a gift. When we came back from our vacation on Christmas day, the Burberry coat had arrived. Not only did it NOT come with a gift box, but it also had this quarter-size pen mark on the collar, and someone had tried to clean it off, but left a bigger mark there instead. The coat was placed backwards inside a garment bag, so that we couldn't see the pen mark and damage when we first unzipped the bag. I had never seen my wife so disappointed and shocked before when we took the coat out. This was deliberately done. We both grew up in Southern California, went to UCLA and then UCSF for medical school. We shopped at South Coast Plaza all of our lives. This is South Coast Plaza, and there is a standard here, a high one, that keeps us and many others coming back again and again. Whether this Erica girl deliberately sent us a marked and damaged $5,000 leather Burberry coat or not I can't be sure. But what I am certain of, is that she was in charge of the handling of that coat, and to get it to us (it was NOT damaged when we were there inspecting it). And that is how it arrived to us damaged. Whether it is her or someone in shipping or anyone else there who handled this coat after we purchased it, this should have never happened, and the damaged coat should never have been sent out or sold to a customer. You would think the Burberry employees at South Coast Plaza were trained better than this. We thought we were going to have one of the best Christmas in a long time, but instead it became one of the worst ever. We will never shop at Burberry at South Coast Plaza again. I would rather take my business to the Rodeo Drive or the San Diego locations, since their customer service are head and shoulders above, and I know that my expensive purchases will be handled correctly, as they always have been before, and that we will never be disappointed. the staff here is very helpful and attentive. i didn't come dressed in my absolute best, but they still gave me great service none the less. i was just browsing the polo shirts for a few minutes and for the ones i wanted to try on, they brought out new ones from the back still in the plastic wrap. they never hesitated when i had questions or wanted to try something on. i was buying the shirt for myself, but they still wrapped it up all nice and tied up the bag like it was gift. walking around South Coast for the rest of the day...that shopping bag from Burberry turned a few heads of the sales associates for wherever shops i went to and pretty much set me up for great customer service wherever i went the rest of the day, so that was a bonus that i got VIP treatment the rest of the day. read more

It's funny how a lot of people like to whine and complain about this and that ! Oh the sales person watched me and the sales person said this. clearly you don't know how to be a good shopper !!!! I have always had a good time shopping here never had an issue with staff nor the product! Some people feel they need to be taken care of with such high demand as if the world revolves around them . If you have no intention on buying anything why waste the poor sales people's time they don't own Burberry they just work there . I have seen on many occasions customers walking in and giving attitude to sales people like they are nothing but trash! Not nice people have a little class . I have had sales people follow me around but that's because they are there to take care of the customer . I have bought many items and expect them to wear nothing last forever . Last time I was there some lady was complaining on how here purse strap broke after 5 yrs. I'm like lady buy a new one already really you expect the purse to have a lifetime warranty or something ? Just because you are buying designer goods does not mean they will last forever. And as far as some items being made in china now ! Yes it's true some are but it's your choice at the end of the day to get it or not ! What it comes down to is no one if forcing you to shop there ! In my opinion sometimes the customer has unrealistic demands and are just plain rude..... Yes I have had some poor service experiences in my life time but never have I decided to take it out on a person that has nothing to do with the issue!
