It didn't excite my tastebuds. lol And my banana split was melted by the time we got to the car. My mom said that's how you m ow it organic!! lol The parking lot was full of cars And people were sitting outside enjoying the fanatic weather. They had one of the flavors I wanted in a half gallon container for $20.00 dollars. But they were out of Vanilla, my other choice in the half gallon size container. They advertise on their sign inside "hand packed 1/2 gallon for $20.00 dollars." So I asked them to please hand pack 1/2 gallon of Vanilla. They wouldn't do it but because they were out of 1/2 gallon containers so they had to use 2 quart containers. Quarts are $15.00 each So I was charged $20.00 dollars for one 1/2 gallon and $30.00 for the second. All because they ran out of containers!!!! I was asked to pay $10.00 extra for the same amount of ice that they advertised because they neglected to stock the 1/2 gallon containers. I had to on principle leave empty handed. But everyone at the party loved the Carvel ice cream cake.

Lombardi's is an utterly charming, old-fashioned Italian bakery located in downtown Torrington…read more It's family run, cash-only, and incredibly well priced. The pretty loaves of Italian bread are only $3 -- and they taste exactly like my mother's homemade Italian bread, which I would gobble straight out of the oven as a child. (My siblings and I would fight over the heel, excavate the innards, and fill it with butter!) Also on offer: -- Lattice pies / tarts, half lemon, half apple for.... drumroll........ $14! -- Eclairs -- Italian cream puffs -- Chocolate chip cookies -- 2 for $1! -- Lots and lots of colorful Italian cookies Not all of the baked goods were fresh out of the oven, but that's not surprising given that it was (1) Sunday and (2) there are so many items available that they cannot possibly keep everything in rotation day-of fresh. We have access to world class bakeries and are spoiled rotten. By our hyper-picky standards, the baked goods were just fair. But given the pleasant owners, bargain pricing, and lovely bread, I have no trouble seeing why this place is a local favorite.

I brought my daughter and my niece and as soon as we walked in the shop, it was so cute! The girls at the counter were so friendly. We were overwhelmed and undecided with all the different varieties of delicious homemade ice creams. But, they offered taste testers and there were so many cool unique flavors which made it even harder to figure out which one to get! Thankfully they suggested the 6 mini scoop ice cream flight. We were so happy we had this option making it so much easier and so we got to try a bunch of different flavors including, Ube, biscoff, honey latte, pistachio, Oreo, and honey vanilla. My niece was also super excited about the cotton cloud cone, made with either pink or blue cotton candy and a scoop of ice cream on top. She love it! I'm also happy because the space inside was big enough that they have a foosball table, seating and even a little porch with glass windows and tables, so on a rainy day, we were all able to enjoy the ice cream indoors as well. This ice cream was so creamy and fresh, I can't wait to come back and try the others! I also need to try their cheese and coffee shop next door too!

The stand is lovely and was filled with goodies when I went. They even had complementary hot cocoa. You can stop in on the weekends and pick up items and pay via cash or venmo. It's best to go early because items do run out. Check their social media and website for the menu. I pre-ordered a few days before I went. I ordered the original sourdough batard and 6 Valentine's day sourdough cookies. The items were packaged nicely and the goodies tasted delicious. I've never had sourdough cookies but I'm hooked. It's like a regular cookie but thicker. The sourdough was heavy and hearty. I love that it's freshly baked! I love small, local businesses and I'm happy to have tried this out. I will definitely be a regular going forward!

You can pay via Venmo or by leaving cash in a cash box. Their product line includes various loaves of bread, scones, muffins and cookies. We checked out their menu in advance and decided to pick up some Almond Joy and Maple Walnut Scones. Well, that was our plan.... We were there before 11 AM today and all of the scones had sold out. We pivoted to a package of Peppermint Chip cookies, sold in a six pack for $12. We split one cookie for lunch, and when I opened up the packaging, the sweet smell of peppermint and chocolate filled the air. The cookie was pretty thick and was absolutely loaded with chocolate chips. Yeah, it was great. Know what else was great? A big thermos of complimentary hot chocolate by the kiosk. That was pretty nice touch!
