The burger is very tasty, super rich, fairly messy. On the "wetter" side of burgers. The lobster is presented nicely, pre cracked for ease. The meat tastes fresh, sweet, with a nice bite. The fries too were good! Very classic, nothing crazy, hot and lightly crisp. One thing that surprised me - when ordering, the server asked if I wanted cheese and bacon on my burger. Not knowing any better, and thinking she was just checking that everything on the burger worked for me, I said yes. These were both up charges. We were also charged for the water, which I figured we would be when they opened a fancy bottle of still water in front of us. Not sure if there was an option for still filtered water. The burger is amazing, very distinctive combination of flavors. The beef patty is perfectly grilled medium rare, the buns are buttery and very tasty. I asked for an upgrade and extra crispy and they delivered the way I like it, just howI order my fries in United States. Both these were paired with a couple of smooth Red Claw beers. Purely marketing for which you pay as customer. 12-16 pound for a medium sized burger with NO sides (everything costs extra) or 30 pound for a small lobster that has more shell than meat in it. The taste is mediocre and greasy. At the end of the day we were still hungry, left a bunch of money and felt terrible. Very dissatisfying. Would not recommend. Went here as a group of 3 with my boss who is an extremely huge fan of lobster. My review is completely based on the burger (allergic to shell fish), so unfortunately, couldn't really enjoy the lobster. Having said that, the reason for 2 stars is.. in New York, typically, you'd be charged $15 for a decent burger; imagine paying £20 for a burger! It's almost $30. When I learned that I was to have dinner at a place called Burger & Lobster, my first thought was, "surely, not." Indeed, it was so. And the spot is very aptly named. Upon entry, I was struck by the multiple tanks holding fresh lobsters ready to land on some lucky diner's plate. The space is open and very loud; I was thankful that our host had reserved a private room for us, without which conversation would have been quite difficult. The menu, just as the name says, offers burgers and lobsters. We began our meal with starters of fried calamari, fried shrimp, and flat bread with a white bean spread. The calamari and shrimp were "OK" for me, but the white bean dip and flat bread were delicious. In general, I am not a fan of lobster; it is simply too rich for my palate. I chose the Singapore Chili Roll made with lobster and prawn and topped with a homemade chili sauce. The seafood was good, but the sauce was underwhelming for me. I expected more of a flavor punch. My colleagues who ordered fresh lobster reported it quite tasty, as did those who opted for one of the burger selections. We enjoyed a very nice evening, largely due to the company around the table. Would I return? Probably not. But to be fair, the place was packed with diners who appeared to be truly enjoying their experience. This just isn't my thing. read more

My friend ordered the Maple Manhattan which also came with its own smoke. We both enjoyed our cocktails and ordered a second round. For a long time i have been wanting to go to Burger and Lobster and try their lobster. And my birthday was just coming up, so I booked a table for me and my close family and friends. 10 people. I was not impressed with the place, service or the food. And possibly none of the others at the table either. We had to wait for over 30' until somebody took our food order. Weirdly enough, our drinks order was taken as soon as we arrived and they were coming to our table almost every 5 minutes asking if we want more wine, etc. Finally the food has arrived. But not for everyone. Some of us had to wait longer, while the others were eating. I had lobster of course. I had lobster cooked home and had lobster in the US as well, so I was able to tell the difference. My lobster felt over cooked as it was very rubbery, not much fries on the side. It was not how I imagined is going to be. Ond of my friends decided to order more, but our request was denied. Telling us we have the table only for 2 hrs. But they did did not count the fact that we had to wait for almost 30' to place tge order and another 30' for the food to arrive. We have spent around £500 that night and was expecting better service and food. Perhaps the experience would be nicer in a party of two and possibly not on a Saturday. I've been to this chain in New York City and always had a great meal. This time was no exception! My oysters tasted great, the 1.25lb lobster and beer were awesome. Nearly as good as NYC except at this one they charge for anything extra like fries. My second issue, I hate it when they include a service charge. If its good service I pay a lot more than 12% but its included so whatever. My take is the restaurants pay their staff low wages so customers pay it to effectively pay for the staff and help the restaurants bottom line. read more

No smiles upon walking in. 2. We waited 15 minutes (yes I timed it) before anyone came to our table to take our drinks and food order. 3. Since when do we have to pay for the fries and salad that used to automatically come with the lobster. 4. We had to ask our server for bibs, lobster crackers and pics. I had never had Canadian lobsters before and coming from new England I was worried, but they were quite yummy! They will boil or grill them, they also have the option to do half and half ! The boiled was my favorite. It comes with a small side salad and the regular fries were the best. Everyone at my table ordered the lobster and enjoyed it thoroughly. I had a LOT of niggles with this place... First off, they don't publish any menus or prices. Not online, not on their door - and they don't even have them at the table. It's only after you have got a table and ordered drinks that they sting you with the information: 1. There are only 3 things on the menu. 2. Everything costs £20. So, the choice is between a burger, a lobster roll or just lobster. They only serve fries and salad as a side, and there's very little wiggle room in those. I don't eat bread or white potatoes, so I had a burger wrapped in lettuce, with two portions of lettuce on the side. I don't even like lettuce that much! My burger was ok - nowhere near £20 worth, and definitely very well done rather than my requested medium. The coffees were ok... The loos are about 6 miles away down probably around 14 flights and at one point you need to use mountaineering equipment as the stairs are so steep and windy. The door on my cubicle didn't lock, but I wasn't worried - most people either gave up or died on the way there... No, I wouldn't return - I can have a better overpriced burger in many other places. read more

Came here with a group of 7 last Wednesday night. We were quickly seated at one of the side tables with seating arrangements mirroring those of the Last Supper. A little weird, but we made it work (basically our table ended up splitting into two conversations). We shared the Crab Fritters and Raw Oysters, and I had a Grilled Lobster. The oysters were excellent. Not too briny and they came right off the shell. The Crab Fritters are also great. Filled with crab and not too oily, yum yum yum. The Grilled Lobster was a bit disappointing. I am aware that I have been totally spoiled living in Boston but the lobster was overly grilled and dry. They also crack part of it for you (so you don't make a mess, which is pretty great), but there's a lot of meat left over in those legs so make sure to ask for crackers. The chips (aka fries) were excellent though, especially when dipped in the garlic butter sauce. Service was nice, but slow. Our server never refilled our water, and those water cups were small so I was super thirsty. Nice spot to have a leisurely dinner, but next time, I'll make sure my lobster is steamed. read more

Whilst I really enjoyed my evening here and the beast burger was amazing, I got food poisoning. The service was also a bit slow at times - though very pleasant when they were there. I love lobster rolls. And lobsters are not really a thing in Europe, so being able to get a toasty roll filled with meaty lobster here is an indulgence. The atmosphere of the place is not Amazon - typical financial district feel. More for business lunch than dinner. But the lobster roll is great, and the service is top notch. One thing to note is that the truffle chips are thick fries instead of normal chips. I would have stayed with normal chips had a known. As someone who is allergic to shellfish, I was slightly apprehensive to come to a restaurant where I couldn't eat 50% of the menu, but as I was with 3 others who all wanted lobster I thought we'd give it a go and I wasn't disappointed. We easily got a table at around 7.30pm on a Saturday, not too surprising given how quiet the city is at weekends. I had the burger while the rest of the table had the burger and lobster combo and everyone enjoyed their food! Between us we tried each of the desserts, the Eton mess being the favourite! I've been travelling for a few weeks and just craved a burger for dinner. Burger and Lobster was close by and when I saw that they served Nebraska beef,I knew it should be good. I live in Wyoming and we know beef, ours often goes to Nebraska to be finished. It took a bit but my burger and fries arrived, I had ordered it medium but I was in for a surprise. In the States the safety temp for ground beef is 160 or 71 Celsius. It should be pink and juicy but this was red and bloody. It would have been acceptable as a medium rare steak not susceptible to e coli like ground beef, but definitely well in the danger range. On top of it the skinny fries were underdone. I pointed this out to the bartender who assured me that this was their medium, I pointed out the safety issue and asked it to be taken away. After some discussion with the kitchen they agreed to replace it with a medium well burger which finally arrived cooked to pink. The burger though was delicious and worth the wait, though the skinny fries could be improved, they were more like broken sticks, I suspect they make them from small potatoes instead of good russets with a proper starch content. Idaho is on the other side of Wyoming, so we appreciate good potatoes too. read more

I liked Burger & Lobster so much I came back twice in a week! No written menu--you have a choice of lobster--grilled or steamed, lobster roll or hamburger. All served with French fires and a rocket salad. Each selection cost 20 pounds (it is a very big burger). I did notice on the second trip there were upgrades for larger lobsters. The food was great which is often the case when you have a limited upscale menu and a kitchen staff that knows hot finicky it is to cook lobster correctly. The service was efficient, but not particularly friendly. Friday night the place was jamming with all the banking types who work on Threadneedle. I had both the grilled lobster and the lobster roll (the second time) and I would go back again. They offered up a lot of value for the price (my Fish & Chips at Harrods were 35 pounds for fried cod). Good food; efficient service (the hostess were cute and nice); neat concept; well done!
