Good not great. The sauce is essentially a modified bernaise sauce. Small portions, this lobster plus no where near the 1200g asked for

There is a surprising amount of confusion over the simple request (such as can I order food to go). They are located in a food court/mall adjacent to the Marriott (50m literally) in the West India Quay in a very busy area near many businesses. We started this adventure with repeated attempted to call that went in answered. On the fourth try we managed to get our call answered by an abrupt and unhelpful hostess who declared that they would not take a phone order and we would need to come in. This wasn't totally horrible because we were staying at the hotel next door with the family. The hard part being that kids were eating hotel kid food and we wanted something better. So I brave the walk in the rain to acquire an adult meal. Coming into the place good size place, all but 2 of the tables were empty. It took the hostess from the phone about 10m to be bothered to end her conversation with the bartender and to ask how she could help. I asked to place and order, to which she replied I must go to the bar. Following the instruction of the hostess, I head into the bar and ask to place an order to go (take away). The bar tender looks at me like I am crazy and says I was supposed to place my order with the young lady at hostess station. To the front I go to order my meals, where I am told crossly to go back to the bar... A small battle between the bartender and hostess then takes place and soon I am being helped by someone new. But wait it gets better, after finally ordering from the bar, no wait go to the hostess, no please go order at the bar sir. I overhear from a fellow that walks up next to me that he was there to pick up an order. It appears he is a delivery person of a local service. So apparently just had to walk up to bar to pick up a "phone order" ... wait for it ... they do take phone orders and they do deliver according to both the delivery fellow and my ultimate order taker. I have not had the food yet but on service alone avoid this place like the plague. Should the food blow my mind, I doubt it based on the number of empty seats during dinner rush, I will adjust my review. Run don't walk away

Lobster roll and the 5 oz burger with lobster

I wasn't sure about a burger topped with lobster because those are too distinct flavors. However, the dish was great!

A straight forward name for the restaurant and tells you what they serve. Either choose a burger or a lobster, or a combo for both. I recommend the lobster over the burger. I've had Burger & Lobster a few times now. In my most recent visit, I tried the lobster burger. It comes with a beef patty, brie cheese, truffle mayo, lettuce and chunks of lobster meat. It's tasty but there was such a concoction in this burger, I couldn't really taste the lobster itself. They cook the patty to how you like it. I asked for medium but the patty came out pretty well done and tough. This was the same case for my friends' burgers as well. The lobsters on the other hand are pretty consistently fresh and delicious. It's either steamed or grilled. I prefer the lobster grilled as it really elevates the sweetness of the lobster. It also comes with lemon and garlic butter which is delicious with the lobster! Each set also comes with salad and skinny chips. The chips can be upgraded to truffle chips but they're the thick cut ones. If you prefer skinny chips you can also just get the truffle mayo! This location isn't the most convenient but it's really nice on a summer day as it's by the water and there's outdoor seating. My only complain is that the service is really poor. Some staff had an attitude and others weren't very attentive or friendly. Other than that, the food is pretty decent. Definitely go for the lobster!

This place is awesome! Menu is selective. You either order burger, lobster, or a combo of both. Easy to choose right? There is about 5-6 selections of burgers made to your liking and about 5 ways of cooking your lobster. If you're not in the mood of cracking an entire lobster, there are lobster rolls made to your liking. All orders come with fries and a light salad. The lobster is cooked either steamed or grilled. Price is reasonable. The heavier the lobster, the more in price. Same goes for the burgers. The more complicated the ingredients in the burger, the more the cost. Overall - a great atmosphere to get fresh burgers and lobster. Great area for families, for business luncheons, or dates. Casual dining or semi formal attire welcomed based on the event planned for your party.

The burger had a lot of flavor. The lobster, for the price, was very good. No queue and the server was very attentive. You can have your lobster grill or steamed. I did the half & half. I prefer steamed.

First good point, on a Friday night there was no queue compared to other Burger and Lobster places, where you might have to queue hours. I've never tried the burger as I prefer to go to my favourite burger places, but the lobster for this price is interesting. I wouldn't say it's the best lobster I ever had but the quality is good if you want your fix for a sensible price. We had a bottle of rosé which was a bit prices though. Really appreciated that it was more quiet than other branches in the centre, they also have a nice outdoor seating area for nice days which is a real bonus!

    Samurai Lobster Roll and Chips!
    Michael R.

Had the samurai Lobster Roll and Chips along with a cider. The food was actually quite good. The chips were cooked perfectly and served nice and warm. The lobster roll was actually quite good...and both the cider and food came out quite quickly after I ordered. On that basis, B&L rates a 3/4...BUT I wasn't approached by a waitress for a full 15 minutes after being seated...and then not once was I checked on during or after my meal...in fact I would have ordered a second cider had the waitress been even close to attentive. I also had to flag her down to get my bill. In summary, good food but I won't be back to a place that provides such poor service.

There is a great terrace out front and it's a perfect spot for a drink. We only ate some noshy bits and the fries were perfect.

Great food at a reasonable price. Environment is also rather neat. Music is a tad loud, but def not a deal breaker.

THIS is seafood. A lunch for the ages. Getting straight…read moreinto it... Cornerstone is in the painfully cool Hackney Wick - first time I'd been to the area and I can see why it's got its rep. Reminded me a bit of Bushwick. The decor - very much of the area. Understated but classy. Comfy chairs! Which I never expect in such hipster places like this - you generally get a bench (which they do also have) or something industrial. Service - attentive and friendly without being OTT. Bread course - I love a bread course me, and this delivered big time. Fresh out of the oven with a delicious charry taste which was almost a little fishy smelling weirdly (keeping with the overall theme of the place). Grey mullet tartare - an explosion of flavour: the sauce - oh man. The fish was tender and perfectly seasoned. An incredibly well balanced plate of food - sour, umami and delicious, the yolk added a different texture. Crab crumpet - I had literal chills when I took the first bite. Not often that that happens. It fully lives up to the hype. Their flagship dish and an absolute steal at £16. The crumpet itself was perfect foil for the sweet, creamy brown crab and rarebit topping. Next level delicious. In my top 5 dishes of all time, swiftly followed by.... Curried hake - another in my top 5! The crunch of the crispy potato, the softness of the creamy succulent fish, offset with a zingy, slightly spicy katsu style curry sauce (which I wasn't expecting) which was thick and rich and perfect - an absolute fucking riot of flavour. There was plenty of sauce left so of course I used the remaining bread to mop it up - judge me if you will, frankly idgaf as it was fucking delicious. Peach Melba tart - what a finish! All going along very nicely until I get the crunchy, salty almond brittle in the middle - that's when the party got started boiiiiii! Turned what was already a lovely, creamy, fruity dessert into a world beater - adding crunch and a different depth of flavour. On drinks it was their summer special cocktail Cider Collins - an absolute buzz of a drink, perfect for summer. Zingy af, the cider really shone through but it felt like a traditional Collins. Total winner of a drink. This lunch will stay with me forever. Believe the hype with this place beautiful people!

Everything was excellent but the Scotch Egg was amazing. I asked what it was and the waitress responded Scotch Egg, truly the understatement of the century. It was made with hake and another fish, breaded perfectly and everything came together brilliantly. Other stand-out dishes were an oyster with a great sauce, smoked gurnard which was a unique white fish, mackerel pate (which did have a very strong mackerel/fish taste) and fantastic scallops in a buttery sauce. Definitely recommended.
