Don,'t know if it was Llano or Marble Falls!!! We ordered a Family Christmas Dinner for 12/25/2025 and have the worst experience of our entire life!!! The turkey was not done and had blood coming out of it, the dressing was not edible and actually tasted like kerosene and was not done! We will not ever order or go back to inmans!!!! We've tried lots of BBQ joints all over Texas, I think I've finally found the one I call my favorite! This place was jaw dropping, amazingly delicious food! We got the plate with 2 meats, a side, two drinks and unlimited bread, beans, sauce, and condiments. The moist brisket was the showstopper, it was so delicious it did not need any sauce at all! We also got the jalapeño and Swiss turkey sausage and it was packed full of flavor! With each bite you tasted the cheese and spice. We ordered the Mac and cheese and got a side of potato salad and both were equally delicious! The bread was soft and fresh, truly a nice touch to the meal. Service was extremely fast, and the restaurant was roomy and clean. Overall, I dare you to try and find a better BBQ spot that has the same value, flavors, and out of the world BBQ than Inman's. Making the regular trek from Austin to San Angelo and had to try another meat slinger. I've hit close to a dozen in the last 18 months. Inman's is so clean! This BBQ joint was over half full when I walked in but there was NO line. Bonus star! It did get busy while I was there once the local game let out. Plenty of seating, including outdoors. Prices are on the high side of normal but not too outrageous. Ordered at the counter and got a buzzer? How long does it take to slice some brisket and throw a scoop of tater salad on a paper plate? 34 minutes, that's how long. Thirty. Four. Minutes. How did I survive, you ask? Beans and pickles. Self serve beans and pickles... Brisket - not bad. A little dry. Nice bark. Nice smoke ring. Good smoke flavor, good beef flavor. Kind of a funny color...Turkey jalapeño sausage - not very good. Even with sauce. Didn't finish it. Kind of a funny color...Fresh bread, potato salad, and all you can eat beans were all spot on. (Thank God for those beans and pickles). While exploring Llano, we met a fourth-generation Llano native. And he recommended Inman's to us for BBQ. He related that President Johnson (LBJ) preferred Inman BBQ and had one of the Inmans cook for him on the LBJ ranch. Food: Excellent brisket, moist, mild smoke. Tender and flavorful pork ribs. The Bavarian black bread was the best BBQ joint bread we've ever tasted. And the beans were very good. The iced tea is fantastic too. Service: Friendly staff. We stopped into the Courthouse because it was beautiful. Ted the Court Security Officer said we had to eat here because it had some of the best BBQ in town. So we took his advice and Ted was right! Service: order at counter and seat yourself. The young girl at the counter explained how to order and was very nice. We ordered 1/2 pound plate of pork ribs and brisket with side of beans and bread. Food: Bread is awesome!! It is a beautiful dark bread that is soft with tiny amount of millet seeds (I think). They sell the bread if you want to take some home. Delicious! The pork ribs super smoky and great flavor falling off bone. The brisket was so tender that it literally broke in half when tried to pick it up with my fork. Super tender, less smoky than ribs, but delicious. BBQ sauce is not needed, but I had to try it. The BBQ sauce is the best I ever had. Not too vinegary or overpowering, but complimented the meats. The beans were served piping hot and best beans ever had at BBQ place. Not mushy and again complimented the meats. The ice tea was also the best I had not too sweet and not too bitter, perfect combination. We are originally from this area and chose Inman's because we knew it would be good. They have a very large parking area. Nice clean area to eat inside or outside. Staff was friendly and attentive. We ordered the large family meal with brisket & turkey sausage which claims to feed 8-10. There are 5 of us. There wasn't even enough brisket for each of us to have a slice. The brisket had good flavor but was dry. The turkey sausage (which we really looked forward too) was nasty. It tasted old and like it had been microwaved. Potato salad and beans were okay. Not great but ample amount. The bread and barbecue sauce were very good. We also ordered a cheesecake which was okay. Llano is famous for barbecue. I have to make a confession. For as long as I have been coming to Llano for BBQ, I've never been to Inman's Kitchen Bar-B-Q & Catering. Mea Culpa! Last Saturday coming back through Llano from a road trip I decided to try this place. I ordered pork ribs, potato salad, beans, home made bread and pecan pie. As it was 40 minutes until closing time I was informed that they didn't have enough pork ribs to complete my plate, and what would I like to complete it. I chose, of course brisket which was actually played in my favor. I got to sample two meats! First the Pork Ribs: I look for 3 things when ordering pork ribs. Salt and pepper seasoning only. Check!! The meat must be tender, and juicy but not exactly falling off the bone but rather The meat pulls away from the bone and leaves nothing behind. These ribs were as good as any I've had anywhere. Potato Salad: Among other snobberies, I confess to is my obsession with a particular style of potato salad that resembles as close as possible to my Eastern European grandmothers. Nearly every other BBQ place/Joint I've been to has served a potato salad that consistently falls short in varying degrees. Because it's the BBQ I'm there for I'll suffer through it knowing even mediocre potato salad with BBQ is OK. Inman's potato salad caught me of guard. It was as close to holy grail of potato salad as I've found anywhere ever. Potato's firm but not mushy, pickles, onions maybe even celery [I'll be going back to reinvestigate]. Perfect seasoning; salt pepper, with mayonnaise, and just the right amount of mustard with what I imagine might have been a touch of Cayenne? Whoever is making this is nailing it! I'd almost eat that by itself. Pinto Beans: Like the usual sides at BBQ places the sides are often, for my money, just so so. Like the potato salad, whoever is making the beans knows how! Proper pinto beans need to be cooked a lot longer than most people cook them. These were creamy and flavorful. Homemade white bread. I almost always avoid bread anywhere I eat because it all too often that same old sliced sandwich bread I've known for all my life. I actually told the person taking my order that I didn't want the bread. Thankfully the person who made my plate put two slices of homemade white bread on my plate. I'm really happy that they did. The Pecan Pie: a word first about the pronunciation. Phonetically pronounced 'Pe-Kahn". This is Texas folks..the pecan is our state tree to pronounce it any other way is nothing short of, well It's not blasphemy but it ain't correct! The pies are, of course bake in house. I actually took it with me and ate it the following day with a cup of coffee. It was very good. Mediocre BBQ in Texas is actually difficult to find. It can be done but properly it's a rare thing. I rarely give 5 stars for a first time review. Inman's Bar-B-Que kitchen & catering gets 5 right out of the gate. It's that good. along with the sides being exceptionally good the portions were bigger than I expected. Epilogue: I'm sorry that it took me so long to get here. I know that there's another more widely recognized BBQ place in Llano. It's good too Yes...But my vote for all of the above, my review goes to Inman's. I flew in for the day and was thinking BBQ for lunch. I have been coming to Llano for years and eating at all the local restaurant I can find. Today I decided to try for the first time Inman's. I was told about this place from the gentleman who works at the airport. So I gave it a try. This place is not your typical Bbq joint. I was greeted at the door and given a free sample of their own, jalapeño Swiss cheese homemade turkey sausage. Everything is homemade from the desserts, breads and even the sausage. I had their two meat plate, with sliced brisket and turkey Swiss jalapeño sausage. It was all great. The brisket was so tinder you could cut it with a fork. My side was potato salad and it was great too. If you are looking for a local BBQ restaurant that is not a chain. This is your place and it's been around since 1967! read more

Llano Texas good BBQ joint to stop in on the way to Austin. I had the regular plate, this is the choice of 2 meats, I got the turkey sausage and the beef brisket. Each plate comes with choice of potato salad, coleslaw, or chips, and unlimited BBQ sauce pickle, onions and pinto beans. Just a tip the pinto beans and BBQ sauce are in the dining area to the right of the pickup window. The BBQ sauce was the key to the good flavor. You may ask what do I mean by this. Together the sauce and meat are perfect. The smoke of the meat and tang of the sauce compliment each other just right. Both are nice alone home made flavor, but they are made to be tasted as a combo. Made a trip to the Hill Country to enjoy the wildflowers and needed to get some lunch. It was already late, about 2:00 pm when we rolled into Llano. We didn't really know of anything here other than cooper's BBQ and we happened on them by accident. AS we passed we saw this place and we decided to try it out. Glad we did. This is a hidden gem. I had never heard of it, I'm sure because that other place gets all the press. This place is just what you might expect for a Hill Country restaurant. Deer heads on the walls along with a few other things. We both decided on the Sliced BBQ on bun plate. It comes with one side and all the pinto beans you can pack in. (sorry Honey). Yes the beans were worthy, I had two helpings. I opted for the cole slaw and was pleasantly surprised. It was somewhat different than most I have had. Not that milky soggy white stuff. This was crisp, green and pleasantly sweet. AS for the main course, the sliced BBQ on a bun. It was a good as I have had. An ample amount of tasty brisket (it did not need sauce) and it came out HOT. Being a BBQ snob, I was pleasantly surprised by the full flavor of the beef. Oh, almost forgot, the prices were very good compared to other BBQ joints I have been in. The line at Cooper's was too long - no way the kiddos that were with us would have made it through the line without my brother and I wanting to scream. We looked across the street and decided to give Inman's a try. In all the years of our lives that we have been coming to Cooper's for BBQ had we tried it. So, we piled back up in the car and headed across the street. When you order, please know it's going to take a realllllyyyy long time to get your food. So long, that you'd. wish you'd just waited in line at Cooper's because the "when will our food be here?" "what's taking so long?" are probably the same. The bread was so amazing - I'll be stopping in to purchase a loaf of that again, for sure! The rest was just "well, the line at Coopers was too long, and we have to get something for the kids to eat" food... and we were sad we didn't just wait in that darn line. This place was a pleasant surprise in so many ways, and I'd have to say it's now my go-to place for BBQ and much more when I'm traveling to Llano. If you're in the area it's definitely worth a visit. After work a couple of us head over and arrive just after 6pm. We walk in and it's like a large bed and breakfast Inn, definitely has a small town feel to it. There are a lot of local items displayed for sale such as t-shirts, scented candles (like 50? of them), garlic-infused olive oil (awesome!), various jams, spreads, jellies, and - *whoa* - candied jalapenos..?! I tried some before in Austin from a different vendor (Blanco) and loved them, but these look darn good. At $7.95 for a large jar I think I'll take 2 please! BTW - they ROCKED! Better than the Blanco ones! We were greeted by the cook, who may also be the manager or owner (not sure), he was slicing bread and handling the BBQ duties yet immediately greets us and gives us a menu at the counter and tells us to hold on - - he's gonna give us a sample of their sausage. Okay, we totally dig the "try before you buy" offer - - and the turkey sausage was pretty darn tasty. We opt for the 3 meat combo dinner for $13.95, comes w/ 2 sides and all u can eat homemade beans and bread. We pay at the register and they give us a number and told us to find a seat until they call us up. The dining area is roomy w/ plenty of tables, it's not too bright yet it is nice and quiet which I like, and there's a flat screen TV in the corner - - YES! Just grab the remote and change the channel to.....who else but ESPN to watch the Sparty basketball game! AWESOME! I just need the BBQ and I'll be all set. They call our # and we go grab our plates. There's a bin of homemade sliced bread (white, wheat, pumpernickel) and - WOW again! The bread was so fresh and soft and quality good! Turns out these just came out of the oven, it was so damn good I ended up buying 3 loaves to take home. Honestly, the Best. Bread. Ever. The sauce and beans are in tins pots, but after we grab our share the tins disappear. We thought they were filling them up, but much to our surprise they were closing down. Hmmm, we checked the time, it's 6:30pm - - what time do you close? "We close @ 6pm" - - she said. Oh my - - so now it makes sense. We walked in after closing hours and the door was still open and they still served us - we had no clue! "No worries", said the cook. "We're used to staying open after closing and we will still serve you if we have food so take your time." - - now that's some nice hospitality! The Food: The chicken was awesome, by far one of the best BBQ chickens I've had - smoky and juicy. The ribs were excellent as well, just enough salt and seasoning, and very smoky, those are my top 2 must-haves. Their turkey sausage was solid, I would definitely get it again. The brisket was a bit on the dry side yet still had some flavor to it, probably a timing thing. I liked the potato salad and loved their cole slaw - which was more of a vinegar mix yet not too tangy and full of flavor. The sauce was very good and we couldn't get enough of their homemade bread. A lot of reasons why this was a 5-star experience: flexible, friendly, and accommodating customer service - - with no rush even welcomed after closing time. The ribs and chicken really rocked the boat, the homemade bread is so damn good you'll say bye-bye to your low-carb-gluten-free diet. They have homemade pies that looked fabulous, got a sweet jar of candied jalapenos, and the prices were very respectable and competitive. I'm going to just go out on a limb here and say...BEST bbq I have ever had. I don't know what they put on the meat before they smoke it (she said "secret sauce"), but it was absolutely delicious. I tried a pork rib (aaaaahhhhhhmazing) and declared it the best, but then I tried the brisket and then the turkey sausage and by that point I couldn't pick a favorite because they were all the best I'd ever eaten anywhere (including Franklins!). Their sides were not pretentious, just delicious. The cole slaw....YUM....I think it has pickles in it! Brilliant. Also...the apple pie and breads are the best. I should have just written "BEST. GO. First time to Inman's on 11/14/20. We drove from Cedar Park and had planned to eat at Cooper's, but their line was pretty long, so we decided to give Inman's try. Had the turkey sausage, brisket, ribs, and pork tenderloin. My party of four were very underwhelmed. Brisket was dry and tough. Pork was average, just okay. Turkey sausage was below average. Ribs were just okay. I would not recommend to others or visit again. Personally I didn't like the food here, but I don't want to completely bash them either. Excellent customer service for being as busy as they were. The meat was good depending on what was ordered. Your order comes with serve yourself free beans and a variety of bread to chose from.i believe the bread is homemade and I could have eaten just that and been happy. Excellent bread!
