Burger Bench is by far the best burger around. While they tend to be higher in price than most burgers, the quality matches it. These burgers are fresh and filling. I personally like a simple burgers with cheese, but I have had the bbq bacon one and it was still fresh (Sliders are cute and delicous as well). Overall, the burgers are simple, delicious and somehow elegant burgers. The fries are good and natural tasting, but I always ask for no salt, because they tend to be salty. The fountain drinks are naturally flavored sodas, so its cool to see a place make strides in making the traditional beverage "healthier". They have decent beers on tap and I would personally suggest the Adult Rootbeer Float. I rarely want a rootbeer float and I will only drink them from here. The ambiance is modern and warm. It does get crowded at night, but mostly on weekends. It can be difficult to find seating, but usually something pops open. The staff is swift and attentive to your needs! I recently moved from Southern California and it's been a disappointment not being able to swing by and grab one of these burgers. Burger Bench for the Win! read more

This is the go to place for me when I want a really great burger. Fresh local ingredients by cooks/chefs who know how to make them shine. On my visits, the front end service has been inconsistent and regularly oblivious to the needs of patrons. So when you want a really good burger, but don't mind dealing with customer service orientation issues, this is the place to go. read more

So I've eaten here many times, but after last week, I won't be back. When I ordered, I asked for extra ranch at the register, nothing was mentioned at all that they have now decided to charge for ranch. I have no problem paying for extra sauce so that's why I specifically asked the cashier for an extra ranch. We get our burgers, I had one that had bbq sauce and asked for the sauce to be left off. They didn't offer to bring any Mayo or mustard, so I had a dry burger. I wanted to dip my dry hamburger bun in the extra ranch I ordered from the cashier. I asked a young girl if she could bring me the extra ranch I originally ordered and she informed me that they charge. So I said fine, bring me 2 extra ranches and gave her my card. She went back in and then came out to tell me that I can't put the 0.50 on my card, they have to charge a full dollar. This was really irritating since I asked the cashier before we paid for an extra ranch, so I don't understand why she just didn't add the 0.25 cents. Plus now I'm sitting there with bun, meat, and lettuce. No Mayo no mustard on my dry bun. And waiting for ranch. Very disappointed since I try to eat from small businesses. Great burgers for meat eaters and vegetarians. I had their in house black bean burger, it was delicious. My table also got the Beyond burger and 2 regular burgers. All were super tasty. Good beers, and quick service. Great place to hit before Grand Comedy shows on the weekend. Only lose a star for bringing regular fries instead of sweet potato ones, but they took care of it very quickly. read more

I have been going to Burger Bench since it has been open, and I absolutely love it! First of all, the food is delicious, and comes from a vast and diverse menu with many options for all types of palettes. The waiters and cashiers are so incredibly nice as well. Really cute place!! I had the burger of the month, the smokehouse burger and my hubby had the party melt. Both were really juicy and fresh. My bacon had a ton of fat on it though. We shared the 1/2 tots and 1/2 onion rings, which were also both really tasty, and a chocolate shake, which was huge. I don't know if I was prepared to spend over $40 bucks on some burgers but they were good. read more

This place was worth stopping for, but it is a bit pricey. I got the slider sampler - I wasn't disappointed. The chicken slider was my least favorite, but it wasn't bad. I ordered the TOTS because I am a sucker for tater tots, they were crunchy on the outside and potato-ie on the inside. read more

The Burger would have been great had they taken the time to cook the Bacon a little longer. All in all it wasn't bad, just not great.... My wife ordered a Chicken Ceasar Salad and said it was about as good as a pre-packaged salad.... The inside of the restaurant was really warm and uncomfortable.... My second visit was just as fantastic as the first. The customer service was very friendly! I asked about his fav burger so I could try and decide and he suggested the sunrise - with the sunny side up egg - and it was super delicious. He also helped my friend choose the chorizo burger, which was spicy, but full of rich, juicy flavor! We shared a side of perfectly crisped tater tots, because the host said the sides big enough for two people. The two bathrooms are very clean with nice signage and very well stocked with TP and soap. They also have changing stations for both moms and dads; woot woot! I have yet to try a shake; that's next on my list when I head back for more! read more

We stumbled into the Burger Bench after an evening of Cruisin' Grand. It was super busy, so we knew it had to be good. It didn't disappoint. The ambiance was super cool, modern-industrial style. It was lively and open. The staff was friendly, and the out-the-door line only took about 10 minutes to cycle through. We got our food quickly (~10 minutes), and the wait staff checked in frequently, but not annoyingly so. The food was AMAZING. A bit pricy, about $3.50 for each slider and $6.50 milkshake, but was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back for breakfast! There's forks to sop up all that yolk and juices with your burger. This isn't your Red Robin Royal Burger. Chains tend to miss out on the juices. Sunrise leaves every single bite with juicy yumminess, you'll want burgers for breakfast. Chorizo diablo burger- Oooheeee! Spicy yes. But can those that can't handle spicy eat these? Umm... if you have a drink to tame the spices, then yes! Burgers claim "diablo" but then lack the spiciness doesn't make sense! Why call it that at all? Went to try breakfast this morning at Burger bench. We have usually come in for lunch and noticed they serve breakfast on the weekends. The gravy was really good with the tater tots. Quality bacon and sausage and the kids like there chocolate chip pancakes. The burgers here are really the go to considering it's a burger place but for a casual breakfast spot we enjoyed our meal. Tried this place last week when my original dinner choice closed early. Living near North County past two years I didn't think there was many options up here vs down south. Thanks to YOUSTAYHUNGRYSD on IG it was nice to find someplace close to home! Being a burger place I would have ordered a burger but I opted for the brie melt instead. Lete fist say that an establishment is made by its employees. The young server Connor was able to accommodate a variety of customers in a timely manner during the Covis plague. He embodies the essence of man. He took care of the lesser the entire time i was here/dogs too. I loved him. I will come back to this place simply because i know he has been here and there now a greater chance of me having a fantastic time. Very nice find on Grand here in Escondido. The whole front face, aside from the entrance door, is a roll-up door that is usually open, presenting the entire interior of the place. Kind of an industrial vibe, metal and wood being your mainstays in the design of the place. There is a counter to order at and it extends towards to the rear so you can sit and eat there as well. There is also regular height tables along with some bar-height ones. Seating is also available on the outside, in a fenced in area outside of the roll-up door. Came in at around 7 pm on a Saturday, the place was packed but not to the point where me and my date couldn't find seating. We opted for the counter. This is an order first, then seat yourself kind of joint, so if you have yet to look at the menu ( http://www.burgerbench.com/menu/ ), they have it written on a chalkboard over the register along with handout menus. The craft beer list is also written on a board to your left as you walk in. They cycle a lot of local brews every few weeks, so the menu will likely have some of your favorites or something new to try out! I ended up going with the Sunrise burger, which comes with thick smoked bacon, egg, crunchy tots, cheddar cheese, and the house Bench sauce (similar to Thousand Island) along with a glass of 32 North Polar Opposite Blonde Coffee Stout (the brewery is located in San Diego). I cannot say enough good things about this place! I come here alllll the time. Like an embarrassing amount. And it's been amazing every single time. The burgers are SO good and the onion rings and Parmesan truffle fries are just *chef's kiss*. My favorite is the chorizo Diablo. It's just spicy enough and has really good flavor.
