The burgers we had we pretty good - we enjoyed them, as well as the crinkly fries. The restaurant is pretty new, so it's still bright and airy, and was in pretty good shape. What cost them were the wait time, and the mistakes. Granted, we showed up on a Saturday night at 7:30, and they also seemed to have 6-8 cars in the drive-through at any given time. But, from the time on our receipt, it took between 15 and 20 minutes to get our order. C'mon. These are burgers, fries, and drinks. It's not an elaborate process. And to my recall, there were at least six employees and a manager working there. And when we arrive, there were a number of people also waiting for their food. And mistakes seemed pretty common, too. My burger was missing bacon, so I took it back up to fix that, and I saw several other people have to come to the front counter to have their orders fixed. So, fix those issues, and this can easily be a 4-star rating. We'll definitely go back and try them again. read more

It's fast food so reviewing on yelp seems irrelevant. We've all seen Taco Bell's reviews and still go sooooo. but here we go. They have a small menu that makes it easy to make a selection. I ordered an Oreo shake, burger with bacon, cheese and jalapeños with fries and a grilled cheese. I really liked the fries they were hot and crispy. Even after I got home. No soggy fries here. The burger was really good. It reminded me of a place in New Mexico call Blakes. The bacon on the burger was pretty thick for fast food bacon. I actually had to chew it. Didn't just crumble. The grilled cheese was simple and just that. Grilled and cheese. But my wife likes it so must have been good. The shake was pretty thick but no match for the ginormously wide straw they provide. My first burger boy burger! It was ok and not bad for fast food. It's a bit similar to Whataburger but decent. I've seen a huge line for their drive thru the past few days and was curious to check out this place since so many were flocking to it. On our visit there was a long wait in the drive thru which gave us time to figure out what we wanted (Bates Burger meal and a chocolate shake). The shake was meh tasted overly sweet and had a chemical aftertaste (probably due to a chocolate syrup sweetener). I'd pass on the shake. The burger wasn't bad, large and flat oddly similar to whataburger. The burger was very thin but seasoned well enough that it made up for the lack of meat. Bread was hearty and plentiful (maybe too much)? Fries were fine (they do crinkle fries) but it's a pretty small serving. The meals are decently priced very affordable but nothing particularly amazing. Great burger to get after a late night out. Not sure I'd want to wait in such a long line as there are other options available in the area but if I happen to be in the area and in need of an affordable bite to eat then this would be a good choice but I wouldn't go out of my way. I had high hopes for this place. Disappointed is an understatement. It's been open for a couple of weeks at least, we've tried to give this place a chance. To begin with, the burgers are flavorless. The two times that we've gone there has been something wrong with our order. The first time, we ordered a Bates special which is supposed to come with a burger and small fry. We also ordered an additional burger and the expectation was that my husband and daughter would share the fries. Except that when we pulled the food out of the bag, there was literally 5 French fries in the little fry bag. We thought the rest had fallen out into the bigger bag, but nope, that was all we got. Really pathetic for the price. We let that slide thinking it would get better since they had only just opened a few days prior to that. Except it hasn't gotten better. Tonight we went to try it one more time before writing it off. We ordered two Bates specials. But this time asked them for large fries instead of the small the special comes with. We also asked for jalapeños on both burgers. First, the hamburgers looked like someone sat on them. They were flat as pancakes. Second, neither hamburger looked like it had any jalapeños. When my daughter tries to pull the bun off the patty, the bun fell apart. She found two small slices of jalapeño on her but my husband only got one slice. I don't care for Whataburger but I would rather eat there than Burger Boy. read more

I had the "Working Man's" combo with the double burger with cheese added the burger was good, I'd put it on par with Whataburger. This was my first time at this particular location since I usually go to the original close to downtown. There was a long line but there were two friendly employees briskly taking orders. Getting in line is a bit tricky so it is probably easier to get in line from the side entrance instead of the front entrance. I know I'm in the minority but I prefer Burger Boy over Whataburger (I used to like Whataburger but they served me bad meat one time and I haven't been able to get over it). I usually order the Junior Kid meal, which is about the equivalent of a kids meal. The burger is just a well seasoned and cooked patty, mustard, ketchup, pickles and I have them add cheese. The fries are the old fashioned crinkle type and I usually substitute a shake in place of a soft drink. They always seem to have new flavors of shakes but the coconut is my go to. The food was so good that I ended up going through the drive thru to place a second order since I had really worked up an appetite after a day of hiking. read more

I finally had time during my DoorDash to come near a Burger Boy and was super excited cause I had just finish hustling a hard Dash in the bad raining weather last night.. I have been dreaming of tasting this new chicken sandwich they have been advertising!! Food was alright, but I was charged for bacon and jalapeño and it didn't even come with them. Order was taken by a guy named Joseph. He wasn't the problem, he was pretty nice and cool, but the people in the restaurant making the food weren't as cool. They got my order right when they read it back to me and they still forgot all the extra topping (bacon and jalapeños). The other burger I ordered came with the bacon but it was burnt. If you're a fan of traditional greasy fast food burgers, this is the place for you, that is a personal preference. Have to mirror the other reviews that compare this to Whataburger, the flavor is very close to the same. Marks for food temperature and seasoning. Negatives marks for getting our order wrong (one burger was supposed to be plain and dry and it was not at all) the fries were ok but not seasoned and were undercooked, one of the chocolate shakes was meh, not much chocolate. Dont mind the squashed buns personally but these were EXTRA greasy, I can still feel the grease on my lips! Really wanted to rate this higher but just cant, might give it another try in the future but not soon. read more
