I recently ordered a meal online from Wayback Burgers and was pretty disappointed with the experience. My order was supposed to include fries with the meal, but they were missing when I received it. I had also added two honey mustard sauces on the side, and neither of those were included in the bag. On top of that, the chicken sandwich I ordered was not what I expected. The chicken was extremely thin and the sandwich was falling apart, which made it difficult to eat and not very enjoyable overall. I understand mistakes can happen, but missing multiple items from an order and receiving a poorly assembled sandwich made the experience frustrating. Burger was OK. Hurts to even write a review on a basic burger. Literally nothing to write home about. But I will wrote about the service. I was overcharged for a combo when I ordered a side and water. And the order was messed up. When question they brought the receipt over and said I ordered no mustard that when I clearly stated no onion which was confirmed by two others in my party was not accurate. The frustrating, sad part is they took the burger back to the kitchen and scraped off the toppings from the bun and peeled off toppings from the cheese. Had ordered and paid for bacon and mushrooms to be added on 4 of the burgers, but none included bacon. Only 2 had mushrooms but so few (like 3 little mushrooms) that we thought they had been left off as well. Also, I specifically asked for jalapeno jack cheese on one (which they said they had), but they put regular cheddar cheese instead. I've actually been to this location several times now, just because of how impressed I am by them. Burgers are top notch and absolutely delicious. I usually avoid beef because it feels to heavy for me in burgers but this was perfect, and the best beef burger I've had! Between an Impossible Melt and Cajun tots on the menu, the spouse and I were pretty excited. As in, he moved to Portland, OR, with me, in part because McMenamin's had such amazing Cajun tots that they are a bit life-changing and he wanted to be able to eat those tots all the time. And he did. And he misses them. These are not at all them. But they maybe could be. A bizarre misstep wherein the tots were CAKED, and in mean C.A.K.E.D. In Cajun seasoning. See the picture. That ain't right. Cajun seasoning is meant to be various levels of kissed onto food. This was a saturation. They were too too salty and heavily seasoned, essentially inedible. My man actually wept at the table in sadness. The Impossible Melt, on the other hand, was near perfection. The patty needed a little longer on the grill; the Impossibles benefit from a bit of heat mistreatment to being out their char. That said, the Melt was super good -- sauced up, dripping, a well-buttered upside down bun (which I find a little odd but still delicious). Last quibble: the Caesar was a generous serving of very fluffy green romaine, sturdy Parmesan shreds, and numerous croutons. But the dressing was separate and it really needed to be tossed. It was awkward trying to incorporate the dressing onto the lettuce, and the cheese fell completely to the bottom of the plate. They were doing a robust take out business as well. Meh. Wherever you sit, you'll be sitting practically on top of your neighbor because the tables as packed in. Lots ofnapace seems wasted by the "bar" style, low seating by the register. We experienced tots that had been in the oil too long and fries that were barely warm. Burger meat was good, but very thin. Upside down bun was a little weird, and wouldn't have been too bad except for it was overbuttered and so very greasy (and I otherwise love a buttered bun). The Swiss cheese was very tasty, but the grilled onions were barely grilled and not very warm either. Health rating was a 90, which surprised us since they just opened not that long ago - would have expected 100. Grand opening isncoming soon, so we may try again and see how the milkshakes are. This place was really good, very clean. It wasn't a diner but there's a sitting area that looks like an old school diner. The menu is pricey but you get what you pay for, because the burgers are really good along with the fries and I got a Cinnamon Toast Crunch milk shake. That milkshake was phenomenal! What dad would pass up that opportunity, even though he knows fully well that he will end up paying for the meal. There were six young men working there, which seemed like a few to many. They were all busy, so I'll admit that, as a customer, I am not the one to staff the place. The menu has several specialty burgers as well as a "build your own" option. I would have liked to have seen more single patty specialty burgers, but my son said, "No problem. Just build you own to copy them." I ended up ordering the bacon and cheeseburger with blue cheese added on. They forgot to put the blue cheese on, but it was not charged so I just ate my burger without it. I did not get a side, although they had many tempting ones on the menu. My burger was amazing. It met all the standards I use to evaluate burgers: 1) The bun should cover the meat and not fall apart with each bite. 2) The meat should be as wide as the bun. 3) The bun should be moist, soft, and slightly sweet. 4) When I push down on the burger, greasy juices should run out. 5) The meet should be soft and flavorful. This place is fantastic. 10/10 Quality of food 10/10 I had a classic burger with tater tots , the burger was cooked to perfection. Tried this spot for the first time for lunch after hearing good things about it from a coworker, it lived up to everything expected!!. The burger was VERY tasty and fresh. I went with the double bacon cheeseburger and it was GREAT. The dining room had a cozy feel to it, with a nice bartop eating area, it was quieter than I would have expected but had a 50's burger dinner fell to it. The milkshakes look great and I might have to try one on my next trip. The staff could have been a little more friendly or approachable as there wasn't a very welcoming feel, but that didn't take too much away from the experience, we all have those days. I really really wanted to like this place but the staff at this particular restaurant completely ruined the experience. Granted it was take out, but you had the whole staff in the back, loud and unprofessional, laughing and just clowning. When asked to pick up the order, a young man from the back yelled sarcastically "oh yea I'll have that out in seconds!" And proceeded to count down from 10. I get wanting to have fun in the work environment but dude, you couldn't even get the order right. My son's hotdog kid's meal was left off completely and my daughters build your own single burger had (that had bacon ordered for an additional $1.25) a tiny nugget of bacon included. Seriously? When my husband called about my son's meal being left off, the phone rang until a voicemail picked up with a full mailbox. Called back and this time someone answered but still took quite a bit. I'd let that slide if the place was busy but when you can afford for your staff to be messing around, you're not too busy to answer a phone. I'm also extremely disappointed a refund can not be given unless I hop back in my truck and drive 25 minutes to get it in person.
