The last few times I have went there the food has been awful. I gave them a 2 star because the Fries tasted good and the help was friendly.. I ordered a Bacon chz burger minus the Mustard but add Mayo. I received a very overcooked tiny patty half the size of the bun. I didn't even like the taste of the meat. They didn't get the sauce correct. It had mustard/ketchup and no Mayo. I ordered - mustard + mayo I use to highly recommend this place and now I don't recommend it at all. This is a small restaurant that maybe has about 4 or 5 tables. And to order, you have to go to the cashier and place the order. That was a slow process the day I went. Then, it took another 20 minutes to receive our food when there really wasn't a line. However, when the hamburgers arrived, they were delicious. With fries, hamburger and beverage for two people, it was over $20. Which considering other hamburger places, the costs are around the same. My napkin was small and I only received one and they ran out of my favorite beverage. The beverage area needed a clean cloth. The wait for our meal was quick lengthy. I guess they have some call in orders just before we got there. The cook misread my order and put the mayo, lettuce and tomato on my pork sand. They remade it quickly so I could eat with my husband instead of waiting. For the mistake they gave us some funnel cake fries which were AMAZING. Tried their Philly cheesesteak - - I'm a native of South Philly, so I grade hard on Midwest imitations. The hard, crusty Italian rolls that are baked in Philly, are not available in the Midwest, and can't be replicated, but all things considered, the overall taste of Burger Central's cheesesteak isn't bad. I'll try it again. The price was reasonable. I paid about $13 for fries and a drink. read more

Idk if it was just an off day. But none of our food looked anything like the pictures we went for the chicken fried steak special and we got a piece of wonder bread instead of the roll showed on the picture. I had the philly cheesesteak without peppers, my son had the bacon cheeseburger without onions, both with fries and then we split an order of Funnel cake fries. All of the food was fabulous! Service was a little slow for 2:00 in the afternoon, but it was worth the wait! The staff was super friendly and was getting food out as quickly as possible considering how many customers there were. Wichita is one of our favorite little getaways, and because we visit so often we usually hit our favorite spots for a meal or a drink. However, tonight we were in a part of town we hadn't been before and found ourselves looking for a local place to eat. I checked Yelp and chose Burger Central. I knew when we drove up that we'd chosen a winner. It was the cutest little stand alone brick building reminiscent of places in my rural Texas hometown. I asked the gent behind the counter what he recommended and took him up on the Bacon cheeseburger and fries. My wife ordered the same, but with tots, and our daughter had the plain hamburger. All three were outstanding-- prepared fresh to order and generous of size. The burgers came with your choice of fries (which seemed hand cut) or tater tots (which were crispy and perfect!) And a fountain drink. To finish things off I ordered a chocolate shake with three straws... Tasty! The total bill, including a generous tip was $30. I wasn't looking for a new hidden gem when I opened Yelp tonight, but I found one. It was like a trip back home. I'll TOTALLY be back!. read more

What a great burger joint! Order at the counter, grab your drink and settle in to a table or booth. The burgers are made by hand with fresh beef (we asked!) and the buns are toasted perfectly. I had the special, which is written up on a board behind the counter: a Hickory Cheese Burger Basket for $6.50, which includes a choice of fries or tots and a drink. My daughter's Bacon Cheeseburger (6.99) was excellent and also quite large. Finally, we splurged and ordered a small onion ring, which was excellent. A little bit greasy, but hey - that's kind of what we came for! ;-) But possibly the best part is the service. Top notch! Thanks for being great hosts! read more

First time here and have to say I was a little disappointed with the burger. All the pictures I saw showed a thick burger and what I got was not even close. The taste was fine just not what I was expecting. I ordered the fire burger which showed coming with salsa but all I got was a TON of jalapeños and cheese. Again it wasn't bad just not what I'd planned. I opted for onion rings which were decent but nothing fantastic. Burger Central has pretty good hamburgers and yummy fries. It's always hot and fresh and the burgers are seasoned pretty well. I've been several times and each time have been satisfied with my meal and service. My only complaint is that the floor is super sticky in some parts and I have literally walked out of my Birkenstocks a few times because they were stuck to the floor! I passed by the place a lot and have been wanting to go there. I was a little skeptical cause it's a small place next to the tracks and wondered hw good the food actually was. The food is amazing but the cashier taking orders was very rude. I was not greeted for a while or told she be right with me. Cashier was yelling at the cook almost non stop and some cursing. The cook stayed calm and her part was awesome but somebody needs to teach the cashier customer service and how to handle stressfull situations.
