Laid back and cozy vibes. Bustling energy on a Sunday afternoon. Wide and vast menu with lots of options and reasonable prices. Solid place for a big greasy spoon breakfast. Big portions. Food came out five minutes after we ordered. Friendly and fast service. Food, as mentioned, was big, but not overly flavorful or memorable.

Monte Cristo with fries. The sandwiches here are so good and affordable there is no reason to go for fast food.

I've been coming here as a regular for several years now. The food is delicious. The staff treat you like family and get to know you. It's not fancy but everything is a great value. Plating could be better but I can't give everything else a six star so five will have to do!

Came in on a Sunday afternoon with a slight hangover, not wanting to go to a bar for a Caesar, I remembered that this place is licensed! Another great meal, fresh sourdough Shrimp Sando and Fries with gravy- straight forward - and a delicious (albeit pricey) Caesar Decided to pop in for lunch on a Friday afternoon, I've been meaning to do this for some time. I had the sandwich special which came with two sides, soup and a dessert (which I skipped) the total came to around $12 with tax and tip. I would have given 5 stars but the soup was more of a paste(sometimes happens with pea soup but this was excessive) and the bacon on my BLT was lukewarm. I look forward to having a hangover breakfast with a Caesar next time around (or without hangover

I just had this pregnancy craving for Salisbury steak and was looking for a place in the area. So I called this place and they said their hamburger steak is very similar to that. Even on their menu it said "aka Salisbury steak" my husband drove there to pick it up for me and I was excited to try this restaurant near by but as you can tell in the picture it was very disappointing to eat. In person it looked more black than the picture. I couldn't eat it because it was soooo burnt. Why would they serve such burnt food to customers? It also came with a side, so I got clam chowder which was not good. I got my daughter the baked lasagna with a side of turkey rice soup. The soup was half but I'm glad they only pore half in the container because it was awful. Taste like old soups that were left for days and lasagna was dry and not tasty. Paid $40 and tipped on top even though it was ToGo. I will not be returning. Never had to write a review for food before. It was that bad.

Like the restaurant itself, the women's washroom has a basic, "classic" feel. A very whiteish mediocre paint job and the old school tiling could use an update. There's a baby changing table in one of the 2 stalls, but it's a very tight space. Credit for putting the hooks on the walls and not the stall doors where people could grab and run. There's adequate lighting but it could be better. Clean, but it could use repainting around foot level. 3 out of 5 flushes.

If you want a milkshake on the run, this is sooooo it!! Why go to White Spot in the mall when you can just drop in like i did today... and for just $4, even better! the extra in the tin cup wasn't as much but that's prob. a good thing lol. comes w/ whipped cream too. very friendly waitress ;) metered parking in front, but it doesn't cost much here. nice bar-feel yet more of a sit-down resto, and love their all-day breakfast menu.

Pulled pork sandwich with potato salad

Great food in uptown New West. One word can best describe this place easily and that is flavour. On three separate visits I've had their pulled pork sandwich, liver and onions, french toast and the Sixth Street Hash. All were excellent in their preparation and tastes. The presentation is simple - it is a diner after all - but the atmosphere, staff an owner balance that out with their friendliness and hospitality. Their pulled pork is made in house and its tender and juicy. I believe their BBQ sauce may be as well too but I never got the confirmation on that. Their french toast is simple and classic - like mom made it. It's simple comfort food (I recommend the platter to add eggs and bacon to the meal). Their liver and onions are rich and satisfying. Their mashed potatoes had a texture that was indescribable. they weren't whipped nor were they lumpy. my best guess is that they use baked potatoes and mash them to get that fluffy, flaked potato texture into their mash. Again, simple comfort food. My all-time favourite so far is the Sixth St Hash. The 15 spice sauce they add to the grilled onions and potatoes elevates their hash above any I've eaten in Vancouver. The eggs are dressed in hollandaise but the plate isn't swimming sauce. Simply fantastic and very satisfying.

basic breakfast, soft poached eggs, hashbrowns, sausage.

Cheated on Amelia and went for breakfast this weekend... loved my poached eggs and glad there's another spot to grab breakfast that makes real hashbrowns. DH proclaimed them the best he'd had in a while

Always Good "Home Cooked" Food, ample portions. My favourite is the Chef's Salad or Meatloaf.

It was clean and bright and we got a nice seat by the window. Our server was quick to say hello and take our drink order. I'm always impressed with the breadth of the menu here. I landed on the Seafood Yummy Hash, and hubby had the Big breakfast, again. Coffee and water came first, and we were both delighted at how good the coffee was. Most diner style restaurants have a very burnt tasting coffee but this was very smooth. Off to a good start! Food came out very quickly and looked amazing. Both dishes were beautifully plated, and the fruit on the big breakfast was not a typical canned special. Things took a turn at the first bite though. Taste 10/10, but our food was cold. Like cold, cold which was surprising given the restaurant was mostly empty, and it came out so quick. The quality of the ingredients was excellent, and very obviously in-house made, but both of our potatoes were quite literally cold, with some of the baby potatoes being hard in the middle still. The sourdough was also stale, but not just stale in taste, it was almost like it had been toasted well in advance and then plated. The review on the big breakfast remains the same as last time. Sausage was amazing, but the bacon and the ham left something to be desired. The server took some time to return back to our table and check in on us. When she did I told her our food was cold. She just kind of made a face, said oooooh, apologized, and that was it. She also had to be reminded to refill our coffees a second time after asking. The last shock came with the bill. While the prices overall were reasonable for very large servings of food, two black coffees came to $11. I know we raved about them at the beginning of the review, but not sure they were $11 good. Really wanted to love it, but not sure it lived up to expectations this time.

There was still a bit of a wait when we got a table which was no problem since it was packed. We saw a lot of Filipino people there so we knew they had good stuff here. We ordered each a combo 1 plate of silog with 2 meats. I got the beef and spring rolls and it was DELICIOUS!! My partner also enjoyed his silog too (beef & pork jerky). The vinegar paired very well with the garlic rice and the meats were super flavourful. 10/10 would recommend.

Closed on Wednesday and Thursday. I happened to be in the neighborhood recently around noon and decided to try this place. Located on Ewen in Queensborough part of New West, it is not super convenient for people living outside this area. There is no other restaurants here except maybe Frankie G about half a km away. So it is a deliberate decision to dine here, not a "oh I passed by and decided to try" thing. Street parking is available. The neighborhood is pretty quiet. The menu is on the board. It is all about the silogs. They also sell Sans Rival cakes. I think only as a whole cake and not in slices. I don't see many cakes so probably it's for pre-order? I didn't know what to order as I rarely had silogs. I remembered my Filipino coworker raving about bangsilog (fried baby milkfish) and decided to get that. The fish was freshly fried. The eggs were done as requested (over easy)and served over garlic rice. The fish was nice but had many bones. I'll skip that in future. The garlic rice was so good. Their in house hot sauce was phenomenal. Spicy and sour. The eggs were good too. The owner and other staff checked on me often to see if everything was fine. It is a very homely place. I noticed the owner (lady boss) asked a young couple if the food was alright when they were paying as she noticed it wasn't finished. She then suggested them to pack it away and got them a to go box. It had a whole motherly/auntie vibe. Many of the diners are Filipinos. That's how you know it's an authentic place. When I was laying, I noticed a basket of mini muffins. I just had to get one to try. Ube bytes (1-2 bites). At $5.95 for 6 minis, they are not cheap. They were so good! It was very sweet that I thought they added condensed milk. Nope it was sugar. Cream cheese was listed in the ingredients too. Perfect with unsweetened tea or coffee. Great place for Filipino breakfast and baked goods. I wish there is more baked stuff.
