I thought it would be more fast food in appearance, and in some ways it was with the self serve drink dispenser and plastic silverware, but aesthetically it was far more pleasing than any typical fast food burger spot. You know who I'm talking about. The counter person was absolutely wonderful dealing with us and our questions. Now onto the important stuff. Burgers are two patties and massive. You are definitely getting your money's worth. We split 3 different ones amongst us and they were all good: the mushroom, the southwest, and the brunch. The meat itself is a little flavorless but that might be cause typically I have the meat cooked to medium and these were well done. We weren't asked how we want them cooked so I'm assuming this is just how the cook all the patties. What I didn't like were the fries. They were cold and chewy like they have been sitting around for a while. My son ordered a caramel and it was absolutely delicious. So that was a huge positive. Overall it was a good experience and the prices were in good for the amount of food you get. I would definitely go again.

We had the pretzel app and it was plenty for two to split. It didn't truly seem like a sports bar- and that's a great thing- I typically dislike loud sports bar places.. What a great surprise to find an absolute fantastic sports bar. Tons of TV's fill the walls of the bar, immersing you in a many viewing options. The biggest and best surprise I've had coming here though has to be the food. I've had the pizza and then most recently their version of the Monte Cristo. Of course, the gold standard for me for this sandwich is the Bennigan's version. Is it really the best? Probably not, but it's what I remember loving growing up and what I hold all future Monte Cristos against. This one was very good. On one hand I really enjoyed that it was crispier than I've had before, but I think it did change the flavor a little especially dipping it into the raspberry jam. The only real knock I have on the place is their craft beer selection. Kind of plain Jane. Wouldn't mind having a couple more exotic choices to the list. But that's just a minor issue and really doesn't take away from the overall great experience. Great staff, great service, great food and a great time.

I even knew what I wanted before I got there, I love, love, LVE the Southern Omelette. My friend chose the Meat Lovers Omelette with the Flint Chili Sauce on the side. Additionally, we both wanted the Mega Cinnamon Roll French Toast. According to the menu, that can be added to any breakfast for $4.99. We're both Senior citizen. We typically eat part of our meals out then, bring the rest home to enjoy the next day. That was our plan for the Mega Cinnamon Roll French Toast. When our server presented the bill, I was taken aback by the total. It was almost $50.00; I just knew it shouldn't have been that much! I brought it to the attention of our server. (I wished I remembered her name; she was a sheer delight). She took the bill and said she would resolve the problem. Shortly thereafter, another young lady (I presume a manage), approached our booth in an huff asking about what we'd ordered. I replied the Mega Cinnamon Roll French Toast as I pointed to it on the menu with the highlighted Add to Any Breakfast for $4.99. We were told that since we were getting the French Toast to go, the $4.99 price was not in play. That didn't make sense to us. We only ate 1/2 our omelettes and we were taking the remainder of that with us. So let me see if I've got this correct. If we had opted to have the French Toast sent out with our omelettes, then requested to go containers, that would have been permissible? It seems to me, it would have been more financially prudent to make the adjustment (at least in this instance) instead of just canceling the French Toast. Before I could offer my logic, the young lady abruptly walked away in a huff while shouting to the kitchen staff, forget the French Toast. My goodness, what happened to the customer is always right? What began as a day of celebration turned sour within minutes. I haven't been back since. Yes, the food at Mega is yummy delicious, no denying that. The manger though, was so nasty and rude, I don't plan on ever going back.

I typically book online, and I am able to check-in on the app. Interestingly, my digital key never seems to work here (never available on the app) so I always have to stop at the front-desk. The various persons working the front desk have been polite and helpful. After a quick ID verification, I have my physical keys and I am on my way. At a previous stay, there were some issues with things in the room such as the rubber seal around the refrigerator door being nearly completely torn off rendering the refrigerator practically useless. The front desk person offered to refrigerate things for me for the night as they were not able to send a replacement, and I didn't want to re-pack and move rooms. During my most recent stay, I think that I heard a dog barking in a room down the hall in the late evening, but I didn't bother to get up to confirm it. The hotel includes a laundry room - a washer and a dryer - on the 4th floor. Breakfast is included and generally offers a decent spread including hot and cold foods (see photos). There is an on-site bar/restaurant with a limited snack section, however, I've never ordered anything from there. For me the location, just-off of US-23 is perfect. There is usually plenty of parking in the lot and the building is accessible from the back with your room key. Conveniently nearby (walking distance) is the Meijer grocery, gas station, several different coffee shops (Biggby and Tim Horton's), Dollar Tree, etc. All of these offer great places to pick up snacks, drinks, etc. if you don't want to pay hotel prices. The rooms don't have a microwave but the one in the breakfast area is available to use 24-7. I find the rooms to be spacious and the beds to be comfortable. Overall, it serves my purposes and meets my requirements, so I'll likely continue staying here from time to time.

We arrived on Halloween, and found the staff friendly and in the spirit of the season. Our room was clean, and, for a weekend, relatively quiet both Friday and Saturday nights. The few times we did hear someone arrive, we noticed that even when folks speak with normal volume, there isn't much sound insulation. So your satisfaction with noise levels will be influenced by your luck with the courtesy of your near neighbors. We booked a rate with breakfast for World of Hyatt members, and found the breakfast good for a hotel at this price point: bacon, eggs, potatoes, fresh fruit, etc., plenty of options. From my unique perspective, one of the best parts about staying here is making a trip across the parking lot to the Meijer Supercenter, to load up on value-priced Michigan Wolverines gear. Thanks, HP, for a good stay.

My birthday started out awful…read more My best friend made plans to grill for my birthday the night before. This morning she called and said she wasn't coming. Then Dad said, "I'm not grilling if she isn't coming." Last I checked it was still my birthday. It took awhile to figure out what I wanted to do. By the time I got to my son's to pick him up, we decided just to drive to Flint and go somewhere. We got to Miller Road and landed on Red Robin. We both said we could find something we would like there. The restaurant was bold, red and fun with a framed dog, Statue of Liberty and wacky decor. I was not in a good state of mind, but the staff at Red Robin made a big deal out of my birthday and called the attention of the entire restaurant. They gave me a caramel chocolate milkshake and I ordered a piece of lemon cake with thick cream cheese frosting and strawberry sauce in the bottom that gave the flavor of strawberry shortcake with the generous serving of whipped cream. It was big enough to share and for everyone to enjoy. The visit to Red Robin put me in a better mood. The hamburger was the star of the show. It was the double monster burger with cheese and bacon. It had an interesting bun with different seeds and it reminded me of an everything bagel. Unfortunately, that's not what I ordered. I got the nursing home salmon with unseasoned broccoli. I ordered it teriyaki. Rather than baking it with the sauce, the fish was steamed, bland, overcooked and then an uncooked teriyaki sauce was poured over the top. It was gross. My son had chicken strips. He really liked the buffalo flavor. So yes, it's a 4 star for me. Don't get the salmon. Ever. But Red Robin did brighten my day.
