This experience was from August 2025. To celebrate completing the virtual Bobby Crim Race, a friend and I decided to go to Mega Classic Dinner. I even knew what I wanted before I got there, I love, love, LVE the Southern Omelette. My friend chose the Meat Lovers Omelette with the Flint Chili Sauce on the side. Additionally, we both wanted the Mega Cinnamon Roll French Toast. According to the menu, that can be added to any breakfast for $4.99. We're both Senior citizen. We typically eat part of our meals out then, bring the rest home to enjoy the next day. That was our plan for the Mega Cinnamon Roll French Toast. When our server presented the bill, I was taken aback by the total. It was almost $50.00; I just knew it shouldn't have been that much! I brought it to the attention of our server. (I wished I remembered her name; she was a sheer delight). She took the bill and said she would resolve the problem. Shortly thereafter, another young lady (I presume a manage), approached our booth in an huff asking about what we'd ordered. I replied the Mega Cinnamon Roll French Toast as I pointed to it on the menu with the highlighted Add to Any Breakfast for $4.99. We were told that since we were getting the French Toast to go, the $4.99 price was not in play. That didn't make sense to us. We only ate 1/2 our omelettes and we were taking the remainder of that with us. So let me see if I've got this correct. If we had opted to have the French Toast sent out with our omelettes, then requested to go containers, that would have been permissible? It seems to me, it would have been more financially prudent to make the adjustment (at least in this instance) instead of just canceling the French Toast. Before I could offer my logic, the young lady abruptly walked away in a huff while shouting to the kitchen staff, forget the French Toast. My goodness, what happened to the customer is always right? What began as a day of celebration turned sour within minutes. I haven't been back since. Yes, the food at Mega is yummy delicious, no denying that. Disappointing. Everything was bought from Aldi's or Gordon's and dropped in a deep fryer. The hamburgers were the Frozen kind that already have the grill marks on them (they look okay but taste nasty like fake liquid smoke and soy), the chicken wings were the oversized, fatty ones with lots of breading, the onion rings had a nice crisp but they were frozen and just deep fried as well. I expected something to be homemade or hand pattied. Salad came with onions and cucumbers. Plain. I had to get mellow yellow because they didn't have mountain dew. Coke was nice and sweet and fizzy though Strictly coke products FYI. Service was okay but I had to ask three times to get a small side of mayo. I never ended up eating my hamburger. I couldn't. I've had coneys from here before and I will say that those are good. Fries are crunchy they just need salt. A little Lawrys goes a long way. They're always busy but most everyone's getting the conies. The rest of the menu is severely lacking. Even the fish were nearly all uniform with too much breading... which is a dead giveaway for pre-frozen bagged fish. Plenty of parking, a cool vibe very vintage garage style with old school Marilyn Monroe, James Dean vibes. Plenty of seating, some booths & some tables. They have really good hours they're open nearly all the time. They are not near the highway which kind of sucks for travelers. There are several other restaurants, a starbucks, a walgreens, a bank, and a Walmart very nearby. It's a busy place but I was not impressed and for $85 for 3 at a diner ... I witness an customer order food that was not prepared to liking and the waitress would not take it off the order. She was told if they do that the customer still have to pay for it. The waitress got in the customer face and told her coworkers to lock the doors. Someone asked her why was she in a disabled person face and she said that she did not care. The name says it all...everything is huge and delicious! Mega is a true gem in the city and surrounding areas.

Food is not only great, the portions are more than generous, and prices are a bargain. The ambiance is like going back in time, and the bill, as compared to many of the national chain restaurants will make you think you did time travel back to a more affordable era. read more

This is the best diner in flint! The employee "Boni" was very helpful and nice (i hoped I spelt his name right). The workers Adem and Joe showed great hospitality with the food coming out quick and fresh. The setting is also great I love the 50's theme around the place. read more

this is by far the best restaurant I believe that I have walked into and was very comfortable being welcomed like a family member. I do recommend this restaurant to all the people out there that love food because that's home right there. Very average in all aspects except pricing which is significantly higher than most diners. Quality of food was slightly better than most with a few exceptions which were poor. Nice to have quality silverware that won't bend. No substitute rule is a drawback. The Mega Classic Diner has a nice menu and a pretty building with a lot of kitch. The fries were HOT. Though Detroit style chili wasn't available the Flint style was delicious. The service was really good despite the glaring 'help wanted' sign on the door. Hubby liked his breakfast, although the coffee was not exceptional. My son and I went here late nite and not only was the food good, with lots of appetizing offerings on an attractive menu, but the atmosphere was casual and fun. And Yuni (I hope I spelled her name right- it sounded like that) was very knowledgeable and lots of fun and she gave us excellent service! As to prices, I would say they are competitive with some outstanding deals. Each night they offer a special menu item and every day is customer appreciation day at Mega where you can buy one Coney Island hotdog and you get a second one free! They have a tempting dessert menu and some wonderful breakfast offerings,too. And for the big kid in all of us, they offer several flavors of Kool-aid! I had the grape and it was delicious! I have a feeling this place is going to be a regular choice for us when we want to eat out. They are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Pretty middle of the road diner-style food. I ordered a fish sandwich with fries while my husband had a burger, also with fries. Both were fine, nothing overly special, but they tasted okay and our fries were hot and crispy, with just enough saltiness, just the way that I like. The bread on my sandwich felt a bit soggy and the sandwich started to fall apart before it was completely finished, but the fish itself tasted okay, although I suspect it might have been previously frozen. My husband was pleased with his burger, which he said was juicy and cooked to order (medium). The coffee was fresh, but a little weak for my blood, but that's a taste thing. I actually prefer my coffee darker and "earthier" than most people. The service was super friendly and fast. I think our order was ready in about ten minutes, perhaps a bit less. The menu was pretty large, with lots of breakfast/lunch options, mostly typical American diner style classics. The interior was rather interesting. It was a lot of chrome, with a distinct 50's style, with red bar stools and a black and white checkerboard-style floor. It was cute, if not overly authentic, but it had its charms. Other than that, it was quite clean and spacious. I don't know that I'd go out of my way to eat here again, but I wouldn't put it on my "never" list, either. If anything, I'd probably be willing to try Mega for breakfast next time since the breakfast menu looked pretty decent. Like I said, I'd be willing to give this one a second look. read more

A diner with the ambiance and feel of a classic diner. I hadn't had a Flint Coney Island in a long while so I thought, why not? It wasn't very busy when we arrived, however, it seemed like it took a long time for our simple orders to come out. We ordered salads, coneys and fries. The coneys & toppings were a little colder than expected and the taste just wasn't that great. I didn't care for the hotdog or the sauce. I've honestly had better coneys...I wasn't able to finish these two. What they do, they do well. I've never had anything there that I wasn't pleased with. The worst thing that happened in well over 20 trips over a couple years now were fries that were a bit over cooked which I caught late when I picked up some as takeout, but that happened exactly once which can happen anywhere. They have great fries that remind me of the ones from grade school and I think that the fries are one of their best items. Consistently good. Nice people, open all the time. It's a tiny bit pricey but I think everything is pricey, I'm old. The Daily specials help. read more
