Bases has been a Texas City staple since I was in high school. Place could use some upkeep but the burgers are decent and it is a convinent location in town. I was very much looking forward to trying this place but they failed the customer service test. I first asked for the combo but did not want a drink so I didn't want to be charged for it. Apparently this isn't possible. Customers need to be able to purchase a burger and fries for less than the combo with drink. Next, I asked for my burger to be cut in half and was again told no. Part of successful customer service is doing what it takes, within reason, to make sure your customer is happy and served properly. Asking for my burger to be cut in half is not unreasonable. You should be happily cutting burgers in half or even quarters if this is requested. Chick-fil-A will do it. That's why they have the greatest customer service model in the food industry. It's baffling to me that managers refuse to follow their simple customer service model. Can you imagine? So, if you're willing to address these issues, I may return and try your food and then make a better recommendation to friends, family and coworkers. read more

The Homerun, Double play, and even triple play are the way to go and never disappoint! You can add cheese, bacon, jalapenos, and or chili if you desire. Bases has been the local go to since I was a kid. However, a few years here and there it would pass hands to different management and the food, and especially the wait time, would fluctuate. But, when they were on, they were on. So, I continued to roll the dice and come back. I almost passed by today because I saw cars lined up there and didn't want to be trapped for 30 minutes waiting on a Hamburger. But, I rolled the dice. And I'm glad I did. What is up with this place? Now that they have new ppl working there, orders are always screwed up! My family always went there and orders were always correct. But lately, something has changed. New faces and mixed up orders. Second time this has happened. First time we chalked it up as an honest mistake, but this time just no way. At the window the staff seemed very rushed and overwhelmed. The girl was on overdrive. After work stopped off to get the kids something to eat.
