    Farm Fresh Burger

This is my first time here, the Farm Fresh burger was cooked exactly how I asked, and the bun was soft however the flavors of the burger were a bit underwhelming. The fries were fresh and well seasoned . I would come back and try their other dishes

The hubs knows I love burgers. So when he drove to the holiday inn and parked, I thought we were having some staycation. It ends up that Burger theory is located on the first floor of the Holiday Inn. We actually got there when the restaurant just opened. There was nobody inside except a few employees. We took a seat at the bar and the bartender handed us both menus. The cheesadilla was our starter. It was described "as a quesadilla meets cheeseburger." There was a mix of green chili, lettuce, tomato, and onion. I was pretty excited to try a burger in a different form. However, the amount of grease dripping from the meat was a lot. It looked like the cook never drained the meat thoroughly and kept it as is. We both ate it as we do not like to waste food. I had one and pushed the rest to the hubs. This cheesadilla created indigestion after our meal. We also ordered burgers. I had the single BT Boss which was described as a 1/2 burger stuffed with bacon topped with onion, sharp cheddar, swiss cheese, lettuce, and KGB sauce. I opted for the sweet potato fries for an extra charge. There were options to make the burger with a single or double patty for additional cost. The hubs had the Philly burger which was topped with grilled peppers, onions, mushrooms, cheddar cheese, and KGB sauce. I enjoyed that my BT Boss burger was cooked medium rare. The bacon was cut in very small pieces and mixed into the meat. I actually wanted to switch up on the cheese to blue cheese, but it looked like that request was ignored. It was almost a wet burger and falling apart towards the end. The sweet potato fries were awesome. It was fresh, crispy and very delicious. The Philly burger was also ok with limp, lukewarm seasoned fries. The cheesadilla I believe set the tone and the indigestion was hard to ignore. The restaurant is very clean and has indoor and outdoor seating. It would be a while before a revisit.

The shrimp and the sauce were delicious! Great atmosphere and friendly service. Big plus, they allow dogs on the patio!

My first time trying this but, so far so good. I read many reviews and most seemed really good. I like simple burgers so, I decided to give this a try. The service is fast!

    Lonestar burger with onion rings

Unfortunately, I have to downgrade my previous ratings. I love the food here and the service is okay. My favorite is the Lonestar burger and we always get fries and onion rings because they are both so good. The side salad is good too. The reason for three stars is the smell. It's been there the last two visits. First they were mopping the floor and it just stunk so bad. Then when we went last week, it was throughout the whole restaurant about 630 and they probably don't mop at that time of day. My husband said it smelled like they weren't rinsing the mop or the bucket or both but it was really so strong, it was hard to eat our meal. I almost called a manager over to address it but my son pleased with me not to make a big deal. When you go to the hotel lobby area just outside the restaurant, it's fresh clean air so the issue is definitely the restaurant. It's such a shame because it's been our go to burger place and now I'm hesitant to go back. I think we'll just be prepared with a back up plan so that if it smells when go in, we just leave. You can get delivery through door dash but it's not as good when it's not hot from the kitchen. Maybe get takeout or hopefully they address it soon.

I've been wanting to try this place for like two years now bc I always pass it when going to hampton/ Newport News/ Williamsburg. I finally got my chance and the food did not disappoint. I don't usually eat a lot of meat or dairy but I got a single burger with veggies and coleslaw. The coleslaw tasted fresh and homemade. My boyfriend and his son got burgers with fries. We were licking the pastes clean! Our server was friendly and accommodating. I wish I could remember her name. I think next time we'll try a beer or two on draft. The atmosphere was nice. It's downstairs at a holiday inn. Overall, I have no complaints and I highly recommend giving this place a try!

They were voted Best Burger in Newport News, so my expectations were pretty high. They absolutely did NOT disappoint. I ordered a plain cheeseburger with grilled onions and bacon, along with the chili cheese fries. BEST MEAL I'VE HAD IN A WHILE! The burger was fresh, juicy, and exactly what I was craving. Everything came out super fast and tasted fresh. You order at the counter when you walk in, and if you're dining in, they bring your food out to you. Super easy and efficient. It does get crowded though. They also had a little market where they sell ice cream, pie, jerky's, snacks. I really wanted to try their soft serve too, but by the time we finished eating, there was a HUGE line, so I'm kind of sad I didn't get to try it. Guess that just means I have to come back!

I think the tater tots were my favorite part - they were the perfect crispness. Burgers were delicious but messy, especially when your kids don't understand how to eat a burger with the paper wrapped around it so the toppings don't drip out and fall apart. The grease didn't soak through the buns like other people talked about, but it definitely had some liquid coming off. Still, delicious! There were a lot of people in line to order when we got there, and we were worried it would take a long time, but the orders were coming out pretty rapidly and we didn't wait too long. They do have some coloring books and a puzzle to keep little kids entertained while waiting, which was much appreciated. They also have a small farm shop in the next room with various items for sale. Overall, we would come back to support the farm-to-table concept, but not necessarily because of the food.

I'm just not terribly crazy about the "order at the counter" style of restaurant if I'm going out to eat. But, I belong to a group that decided to meet here for an event, so I ended up giving it another shot. The interior is still cute, and the concept is nice. I like that you can get mini/micro pours of things. I feel like it used to be a set amount, but now you can literally just pour a taste to see if you like it with a micro charge and then add more or move on if you don't like it. That was really useful since I'm not much of a beer drinker - it took me a while to find one I could sip on. I ordered the sliders - now what I thought was cool about this (and again, I don't remember it being this way the last time I was there, but I also ordered whole burgers last time) is that you could customize your sliders. So I was able to order three different sliders which was awesome. I tried the bourbon, the brie, and the shrooms. Of the trio, the bourbon was my favorite and the other two were sort of a toss up second place. They were cooked correctly and hit the spot. Overall, I'd say it was a notch up from my last visit and I'd be willing to try it again if I'm in the mood for some mini burgers!

I felt comfortable and engrossed in conversation with the staff and other patrons in a way that had me coming back the next night for dinner again. All too often, the sports-pub vibe will let you down, but this place takes each item on its menu seriously and cares considerably about what they're plating in front of you. It makes me feel like something special is happening in that kitchen like the show "The Bear." If the bartenders ask you if you want the potato salad as your side because it's made in house, then trust him. He's telling you this for a reason because you're about to embark on a culinary experience of a lifetime. What I assume is typically a college bar, this place is quite a wonderful little find. Mind you, I happened to come through on two evenings during the summer holidays so maybe the vibe is different in October but I can't recommend it more based on my experience.

I came in for lunch today with 2 teenagers. We ordered a large cheese pizza. Not one of us ate a 2nd piece. The bottom of the crust was pretty well-cooked, almost burnt, so maybe that's why. It was tough and flavorless. Not at all like any other brick- fired pizza I've had. Would not recommend.

They have a pretty extensive menu for a burger joint, with nine Valhallas (stuffed burgers), almost 2 dozen signature sandwiches (think patty melts), several regular burgers, hotdogs, and several sides including onion rings (they were out today), tots, several iterations of fries, and nachos. I ordered the Jana - a Valhalla stuffed with Swiss and Muenster cheeses and mushrooms, topped with a fried egg and "Viking Sauce," a sort of chili or meat sauce that seems to be made from turkey. It's huge- I practically had to unhinge my jaw like the Midgard Serpent to bite it! This is a $15 burger and it is well worth it. Understand that when they say "stuffed burger," it's basically two burgers with the stuffing squashed between them on a nice, big bun. I may not need to eat again today. My Bride got the Frigga sandwich - a beef patty with bacon, caramelized onion, Gouda cheese and grilled pineapple tidbits. At $11.50, it's reasonably priced, and must have been good- she wolfed it down like it was Tyr's hand. We opted for combos so we both got tater tots crispy enough to do ASMR videos with and drinks- they have both fountain and bottled drinks available. We had one of each. With Newport News' exorbitant meals tax, lunch came to $46 before tip. I'm not even mad about it- it was worth every penny. An excellent meal with some great customer service. I'm not likely to make the hour drive just to eat here, but I will certainly be back anytime I'm in town already and need to slay my hunger Viking style!
