    Farm Fresh Burger

This is my first time here, the Farm Fresh burger was cooked exactly how I asked, and the bun was soft however the flavors of the burger were a bit underwhelming. The fries were fresh and well seasoned . I would come back and try their other dishes

The hubs knows I love burgers. So when he drove to the holiday inn and parked, I thought we were having some staycation. It ends up that Burger theory is located on the first floor of the Holiday Inn. We actually got there when the restaurant just opened. There was nobody inside except a few employees. We took a seat at the bar and the bartender handed us both menus. The cheesadilla was our starter. It was described "as a quesadilla meets cheeseburger." There was a mix of green chili, lettuce, tomato, and onion. I was pretty excited to try a burger in a different form. However, the amount of grease dripping from the meat was a lot. It looked like the cook never drained the meat thoroughly and kept it as is. We both ate it as we do not like to waste food. I had one and pushed the rest to the hubs. This cheesadilla created indigestion after our meal. We also ordered burgers. I had the single BT Boss which was described as a 1/2 burger stuffed with bacon topped with onion, sharp cheddar, swiss cheese, lettuce, and KGB sauce. I opted for the sweet potato fries for an extra charge. There were options to make the burger with a single or double patty for additional cost. The hubs had the Philly burger which was topped with grilled peppers, onions, mushrooms, cheddar cheese, and KGB sauce. I enjoyed that my BT Boss burger was cooked medium rare. The bacon was cut in very small pieces and mixed into the meat. I actually wanted to switch up on the cheese to blue cheese, but it looked like that request was ignored. It was almost a wet burger and falling apart towards the end. The sweet potato fries were awesome. It was fresh, crispy and very delicious. The Philly burger was also ok with limp, lukewarm seasoned fries. The cheesadilla I believe set the tone and the indigestion was hard to ignore. The restaurant is very clean and has indoor and outdoor seating. It would be a while before a revisit.

The shrimp and the sauce were delicious! Great atmosphere and friendly service. Big plus, they allow dogs on the patio!

My first time trying this but, so far so good. I read many reviews and most seemed really good. I like simple burgers so, I decided to give this a try. The service is fast!

    Lonestar burger with onion rings

Unfortunately, I have to downgrade my previous ratings. I love the food here and the service is okay. My favorite is the Lonestar burger and we always get fries and onion rings because they are both so good. The side salad is good too. The reason for three stars is the smell. It's been there the last two visits. First they were mopping the floor and it just stunk so bad. Then when we went last week, it was throughout the whole restaurant about 630 and they probably don't mop at that time of day. My husband said it smelled like they weren't rinsing the mop or the bucket or both but it was really so strong, it was hard to eat our meal. I almost called a manager over to address it but my son pleased with me not to make a big deal. When you go to the hotel lobby area just outside the restaurant, it's fresh clean air so the issue is definitely the restaurant. It's such a shame because it's been our go to burger place and now I'm hesitant to go back. I think we'll just be prepared with a back up plan so that if it smells when go in, we just leave. You can get delivery through door dash but it's not as good when it's not hot from the kitchen. Maybe get takeout or hopefully they address it soon.

I've been wanting to try this place for like two years now bc I always pass it when going to hampton/ Newport News/ Williamsburg. I finally got my chance and the food did not disappoint. I don't usually eat a lot of meat or dairy but I got a single burger with veggies and coleslaw. The coleslaw tasted fresh and homemade. My boyfriend and his son got burgers with fries. We were licking the pastes clean! Our server was friendly and accommodating. I wish I could remember her name. I think next time we'll try a beer or two on draft. The atmosphere was nice. It's downstairs at a holiday inn. Overall, I have no complaints and I highly recommend giving this place a try!

Not sure how to describe the vibe- clean modern feel with a touch of cozy here and there - like the sofa when u first walk in. Pros: Cool sofa for waiting on a table or maybe cocktails? Krista was our server and she was delightful. Friendly and helpful - let us know her favorites and got our order in quickly since we couldn't take too long. Nice cocktail selection and even better range for apps and mains. Loved the ahi tuna flatbread!! Our favorite of the apps. Could have ordered for dinner and left very happy since it cost less too lol. Seared scallops were delicious- the sauce and fresh corn were amazing. Shrimp and grits had an impressive depth of flavor and the spinach and tomatoes were a unique addition. The black bass was also very good. Cons Prices on the higher side even for a fancy restaurant in Richmond. Didn't love the complimentary bread and butter: I appreciated trying to make the butter something unique- going for savory and sweet the white chocolate and herbs but the white chocolate didn't really work for us as an ingredient. Felt like the bread should've been crusty for butter like this and not the soft rolls they served. Didn't care for the pork belly appetizer. Instead of being crispy, it was just tough.

They were voted Best Burger in Newport News, so my expectations were pretty high. They absolutely did NOT disappoint. It does get crowded though. They also had a little market where they sell ice cream, pie, jerky's, snacks. I really wanted to try their soft serve too, but by the time we finished eating, there was a HUGE line, so I'm kind of sad I didn't get to try it. Guess that just means I have to come back!

I think the tater tots were my favorite part - they were the perfect crispness. Burgers were delicious but messy, especially when your kids don't understand how to eat a burger with the paper wrapped around it so the toppings don't drip out and fall apart. The grease didn't soak through the buns like other people talked about, but it definitely had some liquid coming off. Still, delicious! There were a lot of people in line to order when we got there, and we were worried it would take a long time, but the orders were coming out pretty rapidly and we didn't wait too long. They do have some coloring books and a puzzle to keep little kids entertained while waiting, which was much appreciated. They also have a small farm shop in the next room with various items for sale. Overall, we would come back to support the farm-to-table concept, but not necessarily because of the food.

The service was exceptional, the staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and timed each course perfectly, allowing us to truly enjoy the evening without ever feeling rushed. The atmosphere provided the perfect backdrop for a much-needed night out. All seven courses were smaller, tapas-sized portions. While the plates were small, they were perfectly timed, and we were surprisingly full by the end of the meal. Here is a breakdown of our journey, ranked in order of our preference: Grilled Octopus - The absolute highlight. This was the best and most flavorful of all the courses. The stew was seasoned so well it left us talking about it throughout the entire evening. Crab Cake - I enjoyed the flavor of these, though the texture was a little softer than I personally prefer. The presentation was a bit lacking--it looked like the cake was just plopped in the center with the puree splashed on the sides--but overall, it was a good dish. (Starter) - It was good, but honestly, I already forgot exactly what it was. It was okay as a starter, but clearly not as memorable as the octopus. Flourless Chocolate Cake - What's not to like? It was a nice, small piece of decadent cake with ice cream on top. A reliable finish. Smokey Salmon - This arrived with a "show," served under a glass dome engulfed in smoke. While the presentation was very cool, the flavor was unfortunately bland; nothing about the taste really stood out. Wagyu Beef - This was the course I was most looking forward to, but unfortunately, it was a letdown. While the meat was a perfect medium-rare, it was quite bland and desperately needed seasoning. Seared Scallops - The scallops were cooked well, though the rest of the dish didn't quite hit the mark for me. Fin Seafood provided a decent night out for a couple who haven't been out together in a while. The staff made us feel incredibly welcome and ensured we enjoyed our early Mother's Day celebration. However, if we return, I'll likely skip the full tasting menu, save some money, and just order that incredible grilled octopus.
