Came on a weds afternoon and service was 10/10. Plates came out hot and quick. We got a sampler appetizer without the zucchini lol. Was soooo good. 10/10 I got a Cesar salad 8/10. Had olives and tomatoes. I didn't read. Was hungry. I also got a chilli cheese dog. Got really soggy quick. 7/10. When we were leaving, there's a gumball machine and my husband only had 1 quarter. Our waitress heard that and I saw her pull out her wallet and tell me she had a quarter. Thought that was a really sweet gesture. Will be back bcuz of that! read more

I'm not sure which was worse. The sour corned beef hash and the green roast beef in the french dip, or the disgusting behavior by the management. The corned beef was rancid and inedible. A normal response by any manager with a shred of common sense would be to apologize profusely and remove the charge from the bill. The waitress, upon consulting with "America" the manager, came back and offered 15% off that dish. Obviously we told her that was unacceptable and she disappeared and came back with an offer of 20%. I've never experienced anything like this. I mean the food was stale and she's going to negotiate the amount she's going to take off and still stick us with 80% of the price of the entree? Unreal. But wait, it gets worse. I was having trouble believing what a tiny amount of dry, tasteless roast beef was in my sandwich so I open it up and it's literally tinged with the green, shiny texture you see with rotten meat. I point it out as we begin to get in a heated argument as I can't believe what's transpiring and she literally says "Why did you eat part of it when you knew it was bad?" I wasn't aware that Woody's policy was be sure to open your sandwich prior to consuming to make sure it isn't green and rotten. Perhaps they should print that on the menu? Check for rotten meat prior to consuming. The argument continued as she produced an even worse, abusive attitude as she stormed off thinking somehow she had done right by the consumer after trying to make us pay 80% of the price when both entrees were inedible. You hear stories about how pathetic customer service has become in restaurants along with the deterioration of food quality and the doubling of prices over the last few years. The fact that the management of Woody's would put some abusive, clueless person in charge of managing this location tells you everything you need to know. read more

The Nachos were outstanding. The right combination of chips, beef, bean, tomatoes, cheese and etc. It was the best I have ever had! My son had huevos Rancheros. And simple loved the whole dish. My husband had the Steak sandwich. And it was also delicious! I recommend the Woodys Diner in Laguna hills. Simple great food at great prices! I give it 10+! read more

Dropped in for lunch but unfortunately wasn't great. Got 1/2 sandwich/soup special. Rejected tomato basil soup because it was disguised with floating sofgy tortilla (that's what it looked like) and veggies...wtf? Went for lunch today and it was an overall good experience with one big downside that I'll discuss at the end. Got the blackened chicken club with onion rings...I had never had a club sandwich before today. It is a very simple sandwich but it really is quite a bit of food. Flavor was pretty good actually for how simple it was. Chicken was slightly on the dry side but still pretty good! The k ion rings were REALLY good! Good crisp batter and real good flavor. Their homemade ranch is really good too. I was only able to finish half the sandwich, it was a lot. Service was pretty good too, friendly and checked on us a couple times. Ambiance is nice, good decor surfy vibe. Reminds me a little of islands. I like it. The downside which is why the 4 star. There was an off smell inside. They serve breakfast all day. My husband had an omelette with Avocado, bacon and cheese and I had the diner breakfast with eggs, bacon and pancakes . Service was fast and friendly . Your traditional diner spot vibes We were warmly greeted and sat promptly. Our server was very attentive and offered great service. We, unfortunately, didn't get her name. Loved that one of the toast options was biscuits and gravy! I'm a sucker for those. We ordered omelets - my wife got the Clean and Fit Omelette and I got Denver omelette sub sausage instead of ham. Our food was served hot and fresh! It's diner food so expect some grease. My only complaint is that the ingredients for the omelets were folded in vs mixed in with the eggs. You can see in the pictures that the ingredients are layered and folded in. It is a preference, for sure; I learned a new way to make an omelette! It was still tasty and hit the spot. Would I come here again? It wouldn't be my first choice but it would be an option. If you like the atmosphere and food of an old-school traditional diner, then this is the place for you. I came here for a "breakfast for lunch" (they do breakfast all day) and was surprised how much I loved it. As I entered the restaurant I noticed a whiteboard with the day's specials and saw one item that appealed to me: chocolate-strawberry milkshake. Although it isn't exactly what one gets to accompany breakfast, it was the first thing I ordered. And WOW! Not only was it was incredible but it also came with the tin so it was two milkshakes in one. It was a bit on the pricier side but worth every penny. For my meal I ordered the chorizo and eggs which came with toast (sourdough) and a side (I chose hashbrowns). The chorizo and eggs was phenomenal. Plenty of tasty chorizo was mixed together with the scrambled eggs. They provided some sour cream and guacamole to the side which added some taste variety to some bites. The hasbrowns were perfect, crisp on top and soft and greasy beneath. Greasy in a deliciously good diner way. Often I erroneously think of diner food as substandard but this place blew me away. Today November 5, 2025. I decided to try Woody's Diner again as they have great food. I went out of my comfort zone again going alone. My waitress Abby was amazing, she made sure I had everything I needed, and since she's been my waitress before. she remembered what I liked to drink so I didn't have to wait long and she was right there with my coffee and water not long after I sat down. I love the ambiance of the patio, the food was excellent. I had there Steak and eggs and pancakes. Abby was always there for refills of coffee and water and checked on me. That's what customer service should be. Woody's Diner also comped my breakfast which I was not expecting but the food and especially Abby is the one that made it worth while being back. read more

Cute little diner, lots of seating, fairly good parking. Food: Meh. Was hoping for fab diner food but this was very mediocre. I had the veggie scramble with home fries, just o.k. Lisa had the chicken fajitas. I have to say the chicken was delicious but the peppwrs onions and beans were very salty. The crowning glory: DESSERT. 10 stars!!! And we didn't share. We each got our own. Lisa had the Brownie sundae, which had a brownie on the bottom with vanilla ice cream and generous hot fudge on top. I had the sundae served in the traditional sundae dish, with layers of vanilla ice cream, caramel, fudge and whipped cream. I would drive back to Laguna just for the dessert. Nothing was worth this visit! I ordered a French dip sandwich and beer battered fries. The beef on the sandwich looked so dry snd old but i hoped it would taste ok. It was so dry it was impossible to swallow without washing it down. The fries were oddly cold inside, my 1st thought was the oil wasn't hot enough. I asked for something different and ordered a patty melt and onion rings. The burger was tasteless and the onion rings extra greasy (I'd say the oil was definitely not hot enough!). I'm surprised to see so many negative reviews about Woody's! We had an awesome late brunch here yesterday with a friend. The ambiance is no-frills, and the service was friendly, efficient, and welcoming. Our server checked in on us multiple times throughout our meal, which was much appreciated, and their patio is dog-friendly. I had a tough time deciding what to eat because I'm a breakfast food fiend, and so much of the menu sounded appetizing. I finally decided on the Paradise French Toast (without bananas because bananas are disgusting). The portions here are huge, and I couldn't finish the French toast, but it sure was yummy! I would have appreciated a wider variety of berries, but it was a solid choice. My fiancé and our friend both had a piece and enjoyed it too. We also ordered beer-battered fries for the table, which were similarly delicious. I had two mimosas and a word to the wise - they make their drinks strong. Guess I should have come here and looked at the reviews before checking it out. Started off with hanging out about 15 mins before we got our drinks ordered, then was another 15 plus mins before they took our food order. I had chicken fried steak and the boyfriend had a Woody's omlet. He said his omlet was just ok, I ate my eggs, toast, and cottage cheese, but only had a few bites of the chicken fried steak. It was really greasy and the gravy was bland and cold. It was almost fast food like, not restaurant quality. I think it's just a frozen pre breaded patty they just tossed in the fryer, and it wasn't even hot. The party of 3 next to us at the bar all had something wrong with their meal. One person ordered home fries but got hashbrowns, one guy said no sour cream and wanted salsa, didn't get his salsa and it has sour cream he took off it it, and then get this, the lady ordered a sandwich and cup of clam chowder, and they accidentally gave her GRAVY instead of clam chowder in her cup. The server didn't apologize to them at all, was so strange, he kind of just laughed it off, got the girl a chowder, but didn't fix the other two orders. I was a bit baffled by it. And he didn't bother asking how our food was or say anything about the fact that I left almost the entire chicken fried steak on my plate. The fruit flies all over the bar were a huge turn off, constantly swatting them away from our food. We definitely won't be back. read more

I only come here because I have elderly parents who really like it, but I have never had a great experience here. Service is ::always:: iffy. It is never consistent. Food is always average. Just discovered their Happy Hour and learned that it is only in the bar, so, of course, we ate in the bar, and again everything was wonderful. Leticia was our server again, and she did a great job again, with a lot of humor thrown in. And we actually found the bar area even more enjoyable than the other areas in the restaurant where we had eaten before. A bit more cozy, I suppose.
