Very disappointed with both the service and the food. The server was nice but barley served. He took our order ran my card and the ten minutes later someone else brought out food. I had to ask for my receipt so I could tip ((I tip even if service is t great). We took the food home and we were both disappointed. The mushroom burger was small and thrown together. The crab and Swiss burger, was minus the Swiss and was just a paste of the crab sauce. No real crab to speak of mostly just toasted bread. For 13.00 that is incredibly disappointing. Burgermaster used to be a great treat. Went today, waited for 5 minutes to get waited on even though the car hop had just delivered food to the vehicle next to me. Watched her walk back inside and just stand there. Finally another car hop came out took my order to go. Ordered a Burgermelt specifically because it comes with just mustard and ketchup. My dad and I are big burger fanatics, and are always on the run for new burger joints. We looked at the menu here and they have some crazy sandwiches! Something very unique and new to Bellingham. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of the burger I ate, but I ordered the classic cheese burger with fries and soda. I have yet to have tried the milkshakes there but I'm sure they're great. As for the burger and fries, they were top notch. The burger has some really tasty sauce on it, and the patty was super moist and melted in your mouth. The fries were awesome, had it's own distinct taste tok them hard to describe them. The atmosphere inside is pretty casual, the amount of seating available was ample. The staff was very friendly upon entering, and were very accommodating. It's a sad day. My home care client and I love the food at Burgermaster in Mt Vernon. It has been our favorite lunch spot for 2 years. But we will not being going there anymore because all the wait staff is using the low plastic shields for face covering. I'm sorry, I am a nurse and I can tell you that that is not a safe face covering!. There is no nose coverage and it only covers half the mouth. I watched the spittle flying out of our wait person's mouth with much of it flying over the shield. I don't know with whom and where she socializes. So I'm not taking the chance. Burgermaster needs to enforce full nose and mouth coverings or I'm not going back and I am warning my friends. read more

Great burgers, friendly people, and a nice clean facility. Some reviewers complain that the burgers here are more expensive than some other fast food burgers (i.e. McDs), but there is really no comparison. These burgers are made with local beef, are well seasoned and tasty and come with fresh tomatoes and other condiments. We've eaten here a couple of times and the burgers have always been perfectly cooked. Nice help, both car hop and take out window. There are six stools at a counter around the take out counter if you want to get out of the car for a moment. And I feel the need to mention the restrooms...they are perhaps the nicest I've ever encountered in a fast food place. Immaculately clean and in perfect repair. Great place convenient to the highway. We stopped there on the way home from a weekend trip, and we were underwhelmed. We liked the idea of an old-style drive in with car hops, but the food was mediocre, and that's being generous. I had the Bacon cheeseburger, and it was just alright. My wife had chicken strips, and while the menu advertised hand cut and breaded strips, they were just pre-formed frozen strips, as if they had run across the street to Wal Mart and picked up a bag of cut rate strips. The fries were blah. Maybe they picked up some fries when they got the strips! My girl got a hot dog, and it passed muster, but it's a hot dog. It would be pretty hard to mess that up. I did get a chocolate milk shake, and I would say that it was pretty good. But other than that it was a Not Going Back experience. For a little bit less money, one could go across the freeway to the newly opened Carl's Jr and get a much better meal. read more

We live in Bellingham but have stopped at Burgermaster in Mount Vernon about 10 times now and the whole family loves it. We don't dine out much in general but this has become a family favorite. Our experiences have been mostly positive with respect to food, staff, price and the overall experience. I see some people have complained about pricing; I am pretty price conscious (some might call me cheap), yet I've always left Burgermaster feeling like I got my money's worth. A few other points: The milkshakes are fantastic and I believe they have been upgrading to more environmentally friendly products such as compost-able cutlery and cups (they were Styrofoam in the past). We appreciate this aspect. One downside is that they used to make a tasty wrap which has been discontinued. We would like to see the wrap offered again. read more

I just moved to Washington and I kept seeing this place while I drove passed it on the freeway. I'd probably do more of a 3.5 than a 4 if I could. The meat was tasty and I dig that it's local grass fed. The staff was very pleasant and they brought treats out for both of my dogs. I do think it's rather expensive for what you get though. Local grass-fed is going to be more costly but I know of others that do the same that have better prices. Location etc plays into that I'm sure. read more

But this business has wonderful management and great communication and I agreed to give it another try. Our second visit was a LOT better. The food was great and the service was friendly and prompt. So, I realize its called Burgermaster, not Fishmaster, however...I ordered the 2 piece fish and chips. For the 10 dollars it cost me, I was not impressed. If one put both pieces of fish together, you would still not have one piece of fish. The tarter sauce was good, I think, but the fries were straight out of the shoestring potato bag. Lots of em tho.
