Cute, small old timey space only about 6 tables and some stools at the counter. Our service was friendly, and I even saw a couple walk in 2 minutes before close. The couple asked if they were closing, and the young lady said yes, but they would take care of them. So nice. At the time of this review, Edison Cafe is only open the last weekend of the month, so best to check the status before you go. read more

My father is here visiting and we visited the cafe today, Saturday 06/15/2024. This was the first time I had dined here for lunch, and I was just as impressed as the times I've come for breakfast. We were immediately greeted by smiling faces, and felt extremely welcomed. We ordered a hamburger and cheeseburger both with fries. I ordered the enticing strawberry lemonade, while my father ordered a flavored tea. I mentioned we were hoping to see the eagles, known to be easy to find in this area. The young man expressed interest and made some helpful viewing tips. The hamburgers were looked AND tasted delicious, the fries were excellent and plentiful. My father was so impressed when the young man explained the burgers and fries had not been seasoned, while salt pepper and a seasoning salt were available at our table. My father is watching my his salt intake, had forgotten to request this and expressed he wished more restaurants did this. I was throughly elated to see they are using paper straws and offer use of aluminum cups for water. Amazing ALL around, I'll be back again and again!! read more

First time customer, ordered burger, ate burger. Discovered I was charged for and received a different burger, more $ BTW (I discovered on receipt). I politely asked if they could refund the difference between burgers. When they didn't want to do that I insisted firmly. They gave me a lot of push back, were rude and acted like I was trying to get away with something. I then became very annoyed and demanded that they refund me their mistake. NEVER GOING BACK. This place makes a great smash burger. It is not large, but it's tasty. The order includes a large serving of crispy fries that you can dip in the house hamburger sauce. You can also substitute a side salad of greens, shaved Carrots, beets, and goat cheese and your choice of dressing, simple but fresh. They also had fresh blueberry lemonade the day I went. Want to rate it one star to keep this hidden gem hidden, but have a conscience. This restaurant is truly amazing, even hash browns, generally mediocre, were extremely nice. It's in a quiet unassuming town north of Seattle. The building is tasteful, small, and cute, nothing glitzy or flashy about it, just a good down home place. The food was unexpectedly great! Ordered a side salad with the smash burger and it was as good as a salad gets: fresh and varied greens, nice toppings, and excellent dressing. The burger was great, too. Nice to have this place in Edison. I wish they would cut from the Edison scene and open during the work week and cater to working people, not just the weekend visitors. read more

This place was delicious! We had breakfast on our way home and wanted a down home cooking for breakfast. This place was just that. It was towns people and small but food was quick and perfect. The staff were super friendly and even thou we had a new waitress she was great and you couldn't really tell. If we visit the area again we will absolutely be back there. read more

What a great stop in a quirky little town! The food was excellent and very well prepared. The atmosphere is clean, unique and had a very 'down home' feel. My asparagus soup was out of this world! Out and about on a Saturday morning and we stopped in. I've been by here many times but this was the first time in the door. Limited menu but the food was good. The best part was the fact that although the restaurant doesn't open until 9, you're welcome to go in for coffee. The Edison chapter of the Old Farts Coffee Club in attendance and it was fun listening to old friends gabbing about life. Yelp won't let me give a zero star, so subtract this one star yourself. My significant other and I went to the Edison Cafe on Friday, October 23rd, 2015. We'd been to the Edison Cafe many times in the past and enjoyed it immensely. It was considered one of our favorite places. This visit was not enjoyable at all and we're never going back. When we walked in, my significant other said "it smells like grease" and it never had been that way on previous visits. The menu was shortened and many excellent items were no longer offered. My SO ordered the eggs breakfast and I ordered the patty melt. I asked the waitress what about the menu and she said the new owners changed it. There's the rub: new management. When the food came, we were saddened at the lack of quality. My SO reported the eggs were bland, the hash browns tasted weird and no more homemade jam, it was those smuckers mini packs. My patty melt was a preformed patty, probably a COSTCO brand or (more likely) a cheaper one, that was unevenly cooked, with red, raw parts in it. The ketchup came in a well-hot dishwasher washed container (the clear plastic was almost white in places) and was watered down. Who waters down ketchup? The fries were the only thing that was hot and crisp. We ate just a few bites, paid the bill and left, completely disgusted that a cherished restaurant has gone completely into the dump. Denny's wouldn't serve this level of food. Any Denny's is five stars compared to this. I predict the place closes within 6 months unless the new management actually does something like hire a competent chef and work on getting quality back into the cafe. A friend of mine recently acquired some duck hunting property that's on the other side of the Edison Cafe and the school. We stopped in to grab a bite after scouting birds all morning and were warmly greeted as we found a place to sit. The coffee was great and tasted fresh. As I browsed the menu, I was pleased to see a wide spread of breakfast and lunch offerings. The woman working (Donnie I believe) was awesome. She had a great attitude and BS'd with our group of hunters and was extremely attentive. We ordered a Meatloaf sandwich, chicken bacon swiss sandwich, broccoli cheddar soup & French dip, and a burger. Everyone was pleased with the quality and taste. In fact, it seems like the Edison Cafe makes many of their items from scratch. The chicken breast was batter and breaded in house! Definitely not your average mass-manufactured chicken from SYSCO. Excellent value. Deli sandwich has four choices of bread and a salad. The salad covers the plate and the sandwich is a real sandwich. Well made, hearty and full. The chicken bacon Swiss is wonderful. My wife and I will definitely be back. A nice feel to the place. read more

I haven't posted a review in a while but we stopped here yesterday and the experience was so unimpressive I felt I had to document it. The food would support life but that's about the best I can say about it. I got chicken strips and I was hoping they would be made on site. They were clearly from a box. Almost more breading than meat. My wife got soup. She thought it was house made but was unimpressed. They did give heaping helpings of fries, but again, out of a bag. The waitress clearly did not want to be there, and neither did we after our blah meal and service. Way better options in this little berg. read more

This was my third time to the Edison Cafe, and the food is just as good as I remember the first two times. I got two breakfast items because I couldn't decide between the french toast and the eggs, toast (fresh from the bakery down the road), spuds, and bacon. My son got the "big as your plate" pancake (which it was), the hubs got the pancake, with a side of eggs and sausage, and my mom got the reuben sandwich. My mom must have said "Mmm!" a good half a dozen times. Connie, our server, was fantastic and kept the coffee refills coming. I love the black and white photos on the wall of some of the farmers that used to frequent the cafe back in the day. I can't wait until we go back! read more

Stopped for burgers and fries. Burgers were pre-pressed and low quality. I swear the ketchup was watered down, and the ketchup container looked like it had been washed and refilled about a hundred times. Nobody got sick, but everybody felt gross after eating there. So sad... we were willing to drive 25 minutes to our one of our all time favorites for breakfast many times in the past. Alas no more... new ownership has definitely had an impact. After waiting 40 minutes for our order we couldn't wait any longer. There were two tables who were still waiting that were in front of us. The cook did send out half the order for one table while the other half had received nothing, the food cooing because you know, you sat down together, you want to eat together. The back of the house appears to be the problem. They need a qualified cook that can turn out orders in less than what we waited. While we waited we saw how long it took for the people in front of us got food. Just unacceptable. So can't tell you about how the food tasted but I can tell you they now have those jam tubs rather than fresh jam. Sorry Roxie, we'll miss your fabulous personality. read more

A friendly and homey environment visited by Edison residents and travelers alike... The servers are beyond hospitable, and the food is local and tastes amazing! Noise level is nice and quiet.
