We hadn't been there in a while because we live far away, but stopped in on Monday at about 12:30. The burgers and onion rings are better than anyplace else but what really sets it apart is the excellent customer service we get every time. The young man who waited on us was named Eric (I hope I got that right)and his boss should be so pleased. He was so friendly and helpful and after everyone had their orders, he was sweeping the lot and just checking on guests, being available. This is more of a review of their staff/experience, rather than their food, which is great and pretty tasty. Came in to grab lunch to go on a Monday afternoon on 11/06. Waited over 10 min to get my order taken despite being one of the first few cars there waiting for my turn. As things got a bit more busy with more cars arriving around me, I continually was ignored by the current staff member (an older woman) who was the one taking orders despite her knowing that I'd been waiting. I made eye contact with her several times as she walked to different cars and she still continued to go to other cars around me to take their orders. A van actually pulled up next to me and after she was done with a car across from me, she went directly to say hi to that person in the van and take that van's order right next to me. It also appeared like she may have known that person in the van as well. She then continued to go to other cars around me for their orders next, and then when she finally acknowledged me from afar and told me she'd be with me right away, she goes up to my car, sees another car a few spaces away who were also waiting to put their order in (and had actually arrived after me as well) she immediately asks that car if they're ready to order. She then proceeds to tell me she'll be with me in a second and goes to that other car to take their order. She did not even wait for a response from me or apologize for the long wait. At the end of it all, she was not the one who took my order; it ended up being a young man. The experience that I had today with that older woman (I was not able to catch her name before I finally got my order placed) was horrible. I felt completely dismissed and ignored by her to the point where it felt very much intentional. I would hope that she doesn't do this to anyone else. I understand that things get busy here, but at the same time people should have their orders taken in a way where it is based on who got there first. And instead I felt that she purposefully ignored me and prioritized other people, perhaps people she knew, before me. While waiting for my order to be delivered, I saw another young lady taking orders and wanted to just say I appreciated how she approached a situation the appropriate way by asking the two cars who both just arrived who showed up first. read more

Maybe a fluke night, but a terrible time wasting experience. At 2030hrs I pulled in to a carhop spot. At 2035 I order a double burger with iced tea to drink. 30 Minutes Later I get a dry, tough burger that is somehow leaking meat juice all over, and an overflowing iced tea that is almost all ice and no tea. Carhop trying to do her job and hopes that the wait was worth it - no it was not. Could have gotten a double quarter pounder at the arches in a thirtieth of the time at half the cost. If you're driving I-5 through Mt Vernon WA, drive right past the "chain" restaurants and ABSOLUTELY STOP at Burgermaster! I had a double bacon master, onion rings and a blackberry shake. It was absolutely what a burger fiend dreams of when I dream about Drive in Burgers. Big juicy local beef, Smokey bacon... you know, the stuff of dreams. Couple negatives, seems spendy for what you get, they almost expect a tip like a dine in restaurant, have to get rid of our garbage, the food was only ok, far less than the price charged. That said, there is convenience to this in that there's no need to get out of your vehicle, except to get rid of bag. Ordering and food delivery was quick and effortless. We stopped here after an exhausting day hiking. We ordered 2 bacon double burgermasters, burgermaster, mint, hot fudge and vanilla shakes, 2 large unsweetened teas and 3 orders of fries. This was our first time at a burgermaster and the whole "stay in your car and turns your lights on for service" concept was new to us. The staff were observant and attentive to each car with lights on and did not make any customers wait. They were very friendly and service was quick. The food was actually incredibly delicious. Beautiful Sunday drive and stopped in to support local businesses. It's tough out there for the service industry. Barely had our lights on and greeting with a smile and the young lady asked for our order. Due to the circumstances she kept her distance. I paid my CC and we asked if we could swip the car ourself. With some giggle we were able to get it all taken care of. Within maybe 2-3 min our food arrived. Plenty of napkins and HOT fresh burger. Good place to stop for a quick burger between Bellingham and Seattle. We typically go to Dick's in the U District, but this is a good option on the north end of the trip. We both had the Combo#2 a burger, fries and a soft drink. It's quite a bit pricier than Dick's, but it is a better burger and grilled onions are free (and delicious). Dick's has better regular fries, but Burgermaster also offers sweet potato fries. Also, more shake flavors available at Burgermaster. In the end, it is really about timing - at which end of our Bellingham-Seattle trip do we want to eat a burger? They are primarily curb service/car hops. However, there is a small area with counter seating inside at the to go order counter. read more

My Seattle native and good friend suggested it wasn't a bad place to try. I am always bad mouthing one of his favorite Washington metro burger establishments that starts with D and ends with an s. But this review is about Burgermaster. It took a long time for a server to approach the car. She was very friendly and great with people. It was pleasant to see that she loved what she was doing. I felt that the burger lacked any seasoning. I ordered the burger with no onions. It had onions on it. Not the end of the earth, I pulled them off. Onion rings were decent. I know none on the sandwich but order separately. The fellas give me grief about my restaurant ways all the time. I also had a banana milkshake that ended up being the best part of the meal. At the end of the day, I would eat there again, I just would not go out of my way to return. read more

Driven by this along the freeway numerous times and always wanted to try it. Finally I was in the area for work so I stopped by for Lunch. I love these drive in places. I went on a weekday afternoon so it was not very busy. I can see it filling up on weekends. But they did have a ton of parking spaces. My server was awesome and the friendliest guy. I ordered the burgermaster burger combo. It was so delicious! And all the burgers are made with grass fed beef. Love that. I got my food super fast less then five minutes. So fun to just sit in your car and enjoy your food. read more

Dine-in-car experience. Servers were friendly, comforting, and swift. The burgers are the reason to come here: beef is top notch. Bacon cheese burger and the mushroom swiss burger with GRILLED onions are our recommended items. There was on outdoor picnic table observed outside and a small "bar-style" seating area inside the building that had about 8 seats. The vast majority of patrons dine inside their own vehicle. Restrooms were clean- they are located near the bar seating area. Spare knapkins, spoons, straws, salt and pepper located indoors by the bat area also. This place is amazing! They have so many options for all types of diets and most of their food is locally sourced. It's a fun drive-in style place and they bring the food right out to your car.
