Such a great addition to Barnum Square! I really liked the variety of toppings they offered and that you had the ability to customize your burger any way you like. We had never tried a salmon burger before, so when we saw it on the menu we thought it would be a good idea to branch out and try it! They did a good job with it, and I was glad I got their chipotle mayo on it because it made for a pretty good pairing! Love the selection of little bites on the menu too- the spinach and artichoke bites were super addicting and made me want to see this on more menus! We also tried their tacos, which had yummy pulled pork and fresh coleslaw. Our shakes were great too! A nice casual spot with friendly staff.

What a fantastic addition to Bethel! Burger and bites, not only brings great grub and flare to Barnum Square but also makes eating out both affordable and enjoyable. Came here on their soft opening night, and the line was out the door. We were not only impressed with how the food appeared, but more so with how quickly the food was being delivered and how well the staff handled its bustling crowd. The stud and I ordered a hotdog with all the fixings, a cheeseburger that was generously stacked with grilled onions and mushrooms, beer-battered onion rings, and these ridiculously mouthwatering, fontina, mac & cheese bites, and of course, let's not forget ... the classic black and white shake. We waited maybe about 15 minutes for our food but the sweet treats were delivered within five minutes ....slurrppppp. It was delivered to our table by a smiling staff member who impressed us by how well he worked the floor, and how quickly he cleared and cleaned the tables. The burger itself was nice and thick and perfectly cooked and the freshness of the ground beef, as well as the quality, really sparked my taste buds into euphoria! The stud's hotdog was the fat foot-long, and he was very pleased with how it snapped as he bit into it. The beer battered onion rings were a very generous portion that were fried into golden perfection and naturally delicious... definitely worth of a Lipitor! The fontina mac & cheese bites... Dreamt of those that night!!! They came with a dipping sauce that had so much pop. The milkshakes were nice and thick and sinfully satisfying. For a soft opening, this place really hit it out of the park. I look forward to coming back and trying much more... Have to try those brussels sprouts bites as well and avocado bites! Thank you burgers and bites for making your home our future home!!

Service was fast and friendly but my Pulled Pork Tacos I like meat and cheese only. I get without Mayo or Coleslaw and they came just meat and nothing else, no cheese. Looked so un-appetizing. Edit: Within hours Burgers N' Bites reached out and helped me out, apologized and credited me. I never like using a review platform to talk bad about a resteraunt that works hard so I'm changing my review and leaving my shame of ordering a plain taco for all to see :) Thank you guys!

So happy to see a family friendly restaurant take over the corner spot. We've been to BnB 2x so far and they don't disappoint. First from the adult's point of view - quality homestyle, thick burger and easy on the wallet prices... to the kid's POV having all of his favorite toppings and huge tasty waffle fries! Only neg was shredded lettuce he said... would prefer leaf - but hey! It's still worth the trip- over and over again! Two thumbs up here! Also, for the repeat visitors, use the Clover App to earn points for $10 off! Who doesn't like a free burger after a few visits?

Tried out the new spot in Bethel today. First it's the former location of Famous Pizza so the inside is pretty nice. Food was good, not something I would drive hours for but a good burger and fries place. They have other stuff on the menu for apps and bites but didn't try those. No Kids menu but they do have chicken tenders so something for kids that don't like burgers. Service was very nice and very helpful. Took a little time to get our food but I don't mind waiting for quality. If your in the area, I'd give this place a try.

They are also known for their famous Dagwood Burger & classic Steakburger. Service was good on a packed Saturday. The place certainly has character, and maybe a tad more hip than your local burger joint. The real draw is a classic car show on Saturdays, where you will see classically restored collector automobiles in near pristine, showroom condition, while Bobby Darin or The Champs' "Tequila" plays over the loudspeakers. The advertising says it's 5p-8p, but I saw some people driving out their antique cars as early as 7:15p. The only issue I had was that our check had no prices, and we had to bring a copy of the original order to the front register. If you don't have a rough idea of how much your order was, you can easily get overcharged before leaving.

Aldeia is a one-of-a-kind experience. It's hidden inside the Portuguese Cultural Center, a building…read morethat seems equal parts municipal office and YMCA. As Dana mentioned, when you walk in the building, you will need to turn left and walk past the lively bar (where there will likely be a round football game on TV), before you arrive at Aldeia. Far more subdued than its neighbor on our weekend visit, with well spaced tables draped with white tablecloths, the overall effect is of eating at your avó's after Sunday mass, when important company has been invited over: homey, but special occasiony. Aldeia features simple, straightforward Portuguese standards. There are a lot of grilled options and seafood options, a whole section for bacalhau preparations. (Menu here: https://www.portugueseculturalcenter.org/restaurantmenu) For those who are unused to the practice in Portugal and many other parts of Europe, be aware that there is a couvert -- bread and olives brought out automatically at the start of the meal, for which there is an extra charge. You can refuse it as we did at first. (I hate when our littles fill up on bread and butter and eat nothing else during the meal.) But when the appetizers we ordered (e.g. chouriço) came without the described bread, we relented and asked for the couvert. I was mildly irked at being strong armed into oredering it at first, but those slightly spicy black olives were good enough that I couldn't stay mad for long. We shared a few appetizers: - Chouriço assado - chouriço flambe ("chouriço served on fire with bread") -- Flames are always a hit with the littles and they enjoyed the fat, snappy-skinned, smokey sausage, broiled to taste. The chouriço was chunkier than many commercial versions, conceivably house made. (We've had similar from Erika Nakamura and Jocelyn Guest.) - Frango à passarinho ("fried chicken") -- Undersalted by our standards, not noticeably seasoned, but the chicken was admirably moist, quickly fried at high heat. We are more accustomed to the Brazilian version of this dish and missed the accompaniment of lime and cilantro. - Caldo verde -- a version where a small amount of potato or other starch had been completely pureed into the soup with a small amount of kale and a few bits of chopped chouriço. This was a little too much like Knorr's for my tastes. I personally prefer versions where potato and kale have a less wimpy presence. - Salada de polvo ("octopus, onions, peppers and herbs") -- I am a sucker for this dish (no pun intended) and loved the roughly chopped versions I had at humble seaside cafes in the Azores especially. This version was a elevated version with finely minced onions and peppers, a good amount of olive oil, and delicate slivers of slippery-skinned polvo playing hide and seek in this suspension. - Robalo escalado (grelhado, alho e azeite, vegetais e batatas cozidas) -- The fish was on the smaller side, but fresh and impeccably grilled. Vegetables -- a few broccoli florets, batons of carrot, and potatoes -- were served boiled. It's not my favorite treatment, but they were made far more palatable with the dressing of minced garlic still pale from a quick sautee in oil. - Frango grelhado ("grilled chicken, rice and fries OR small salad and vegetables of the season") -- The Pardner's good angel didn't stand a chance against the prospect of rice AND fries, but sadly, when I tasted it, the rice was a bit hard and the fries soggy, undersalted, and -- oh cardinal sin! -- not served with ketchup. :) The chicken preparation again demonstrated some admirable culinary skills: it was wonderfully moist despite being sliced thin and grilled. But again, the preparation was underseasoned and undersalted for our personal tastes. Another note on authenticity: The service is very....... relaxed, as it is in the Azores and the homeland. We were the only diners in the establishment for some time, but there were long, long lags in service. I have to speculate that our server may have been working the bar room as well given how hard it was to flag him down. (He was quite nice whenever we succeeded in doing so.) It's a shame that I'm an impatient New Yorker. I try to relax into the wait, but I'm not sure I can entirely embrace that in this lifetime.
