Woah what a spot! Super popular for a Sunday afternoon. We waited outside for a short time for a table and was seated outside on the patio for lunch. The server was very slow but I blame that on them being very busy so I understand. Our table ordered a turkey burger, Bella Venice and the Charlotte patty melt. All delish and served with crispy fries. The server did mix up our bills, as there were two at our table. She bathed me for the wrong one, had to refund it and redo it but she fixed it. My husband ordered a burger, said it was ok. Bun that it came on wasn't going well with it. I got BLT sandwich because I don't eat burgers. It had very dark leafy salad leaves in it, it was overwhelming, too much and not "whiter" iceberg type lettuce but very dark green, not crisp but more limp leaves and it tasted too grassy. Best breakfast experience in town. Better than John Ski's, who used to be the top dog but has gone significantly downhill for unknown reasons. I'm hesitant to list all of the positives as this place is a small gem and will surely experience a boom (and I love our tourists but hate losing my seat at the bar ) but everything from staff, food, atmosphere and cleanliness comes together for a great breakfast or anytime option. The Bloody Mary is spicy, salty and strong. Heather is a favorite bartender and her understated sweetness and calming charm is a balm. We stopped in on a whim after a long walk, and the place was really busy. We had burgers of course, and I really expected more from a Burg'r Bar. The burgers were fine and the sweet potato fries were good too, especially since they had honey to drizzle on top. Our server was a gem and did a great job. This is our favorite breakfast spot. Their biscuits and gravy are pretty tasty. The banana walnut pancakes are the bomb. I have also stopped in many times for the final meal of the day. Not sure what is going on but I do believe that the halloumi cheese is not available any more. 6-19-20, I wasn't prepared to wait for 30 minutes to sit down at the icehouse so we walked across the street to the burger bar and were sat right away. We have discovered our new breakfast place for certain. My wife had the Florentine Eggs Benedict with hash browns, coffee, and orange juice. I was a little more hungry and had two eggs over easy, rye toast, bacon, a side of home made corned beef hash, coffee, and orange juice. Both meals were excellent. I couldn't finish it all, but thoroughly enjoyed it. The corned beef hash was almost as good as my own home made hash. We will certainly return. read more

This is a fun place for families with children. They have outdoor seating that overlooks a large play area for children. The play area has a playhouse, outdoor checkers and plenty of room for children to run. The menu selection is adequate for a burger joint. The food is average. The full bar is a nice touch. The service is where this restaurant could improve the most. I have been here on two separate occasions and both times experienced similar service. The servers do not offer to refill drinks without being asked. The food can take a while to be brought to the table. Even though condiments are ordered with the meal you have to remind the server when the food is brought to the table to bring them. On both occasions there has been an error with the order. Small hole in the wall. Tucked between tons of businesses and other restaurants, but it also had a higher rating than the other around it, so we opted to try it out. It was myself, the wife, the sister and our dad. Its a small quint looking place, it didn't help that the county was doing road work right in front of it. Upon entering, we were slotted by staff , but noone actually made a move to help us. Finally we were greeted and told to pick any table to sit at. After that we waited for a server, then waited for our drinks, then waited to order.....are you seeing a trend? Put that aside, we were quite pleased with how good the food was. I got a Bidon burger with onion rings, dad got a chili with a side salad, wife got a chili dog and sister got a chili nachos. We came down to Punta Gorda to check it out & have breakfast. We stopped at the Burg'r Bar (I know for breakfast right). We were not at all disappointed. Everything was really yummy especially the pancakes. My husband ordered 1 pancake with his eggs & they sent out another one because they thought the first one was too small lol (it wasn't but nice gesture). Try the corn, potato soup and the cesaer salad while you wait! A 6oz burger starts at ~$8 and an 8oz starts at ~$10. Ther are 4-5 select burger options (with local mames) or you can build your own. Several options for sides to include healthier options too. Beer and wine are available. Pretty nice in here especially for a casual burger joint. This was my first time here, I'm not sure how the breakfast is, possibly better than the burgers. I had the beef burger and it had an after taste that grossed me out. You can taste and smell the meat like you took the cow from a dung filled pasture, my friend who also had a beef burger agreed. It also had no salt or pepper or any type of seasoning which made the aftertaste all the more obvious. Also, our service was not good- there was a party of 8 of us and it wasn't busy, it was around 11am, our server Anna took our order, and someone else brought the food. We never saw Anna the rest of the time, we all needed drink refills and we kept waiting for her to return but as we kept looking at her she was standing by the bar watching tv and munching on fries. We intentionally waited and stared at her to see if she'll acknowledge us but she didn't. At one point she looked right at one of us and just kept doing nothing. Finally we called her over, and when she came by she had a rude tone with us as if we disturbed her. We were all shocked at her behavior. Anyway, we won't be returning. read more

We were seated like usual and they took our drink order then disappeared. 30 minutes later we were told, after we had coke for the breakfast, that they were not serving it anymore. It was 10:30am. In town for the weekend and every place we tried for breakfast was packed. We were driving along the saw an OPEN sign in the window and a lunch sign near the walkway. This place was for us!!! It was chilly AND busy. There was immediate seating outside which we passed on due to the temperature. We asked for bar or table seats and were told it would be a few minutes. It truly was 2 minutes at most. We were seated and tended to quickly. The server was great and the food really good. The portions were large. I left over half my pancakes and grits. The food was decent, the drinks were awful: Popped in with my wife, inlaws, and infant son for lunch. My inlaws ordered sodas, I had club soda, my wife had water. The club soda was flat and had a funny taste and even though the staff was friendly they were not exactly attentive. After flagging down my waitress to hand her the club soda and exchange for water, I was handed a glass of what can best be described as harbor runoff. After trying sips of my inlaws' sodas, it was clear the same water is running through their entire fountain system. My inlaws glasses sat empty for over ten minutes and refills weren't offered until our food eventually arrived, complete with a burger swap. The burgers themselves were good even though they took a considerable time to arrive, but honestly I would never come back unless they publicly acknowledge installing a new water filtration system. read more

I have gone for their French toast which is the best stuffed French toast I have ever had and their potatoes and gravy which are good but not spectacular. Like many locals, I have been to Burg'r Bar for lunch and dinner. So when I heard they're now serving breakfast, I grabbed a friend and made a special trip. I think it's one of the area's best! The breakfast menu is ridiculously large. Nothing on the menu is higher than $9.25 (Santa Fe Omelet - shrimp, bacon, corn, avocado, cheese), and $9.50 (Irish Benedict). I'm always looking for the best egg/ham/potatoes/bread combo, so I got just that. The over-easy egg was perfect, the ham was sweet/salty and high quality. The biscuit was grilled and delicious, but the star was the home fries potatoes. Every side of every piece was perfectly browned, insides were fluffy and soft. $5.00. My friend went with our server's suggestion and ordered the Stuffed Toasted Coconut French Toast. They were stuffed with cream cheese and a strawberry spread and were served with fresh pineapple. I had several sample bites, and can tell you that dish is very good, and only $5.95. It definitely tasted like a more expensive dish. The staff seems to be the same. I really like the service here. We are regulars at the Burg'r Bar. You will find us here every Sunday for the best egg dishes. Eggs Florentine is my favorite, eggs are perfectly poached every time with either hash browns or home fries. The staff is terrific, there is not a big turnover, so we have gotten to know quite a few servers and bartenders by name. They are friendly and efficient -even at the height of the season when there is a line out the door. Finally the waitress comes by to seat us...asked for a table outside, she grumbles and walks away. Seated outside and she continued to be rude, but we stick it out.
