Came for the full tour on Saturday. Checkin was easy and there were about 14 of us on the tour. KT was our guide and provided a lot of great information and history about New Belgian and brewing beer. KT was super personable and a great storyteller! I like the way they incorporated samples throughout the tour and the number and size of samples alone is worth the price of the tour. But I also thoroughly enjoyed the tour itself along with the tour surprise. Beautiful grounds at a very good location on the river. My favorite location so far of the 14 breweries I have been to in Asheville. Definitely recommend trying just for the location alone. read more

REALLY great brewery near downtown Asheville- my favorite one actually!! Absolutely loved the beer, and the atmosphere here. The brewery is quite large, with several tables both inside and outside; it does lack some parking though so expect to walk a bit. Outside and inside are dog-friendly (if well-behaved and on leash), and is a large grassy field, filled with Adirondack chairs, and wooden picnic tables. Everyone outside is enjoying music, playing ball, eating and drinking, and just having a great time (very family/kid friendly). There were a few food trucks outside- one in particular was a grilled cheese food truck ("Melt Your Heart"), and it was one of the best grilled cheeses I've ever had!!! I loved the beer at this brewery- I only drink sour beers, and was so happy to see they had 9 available!!! I've never gotten a sour flight (this was a first), so that was really cool! They also offer wine, tea, and cider. The staff were all really helpful, and friendly here. They were attentive to us, willing to give tons of samples of whatever beer we wanted to try, and made us feel right at home. Would definitely return to this brewery next time we are in town! read more

One of my favorite breweries in Asheville - the entire experience from start to finish. Beautiful view of the once vibrant River Arts District. The proximity to the river did not help them much during Helene but glad to see they are back and up and running. No kitchen/food menu but they have food trucks every day! I love Bun Intended (the fried chicken plate hits the spot and the green papaya salad is FIRE (almost literally bc it's spicy lol). Most recently I enjoyed the smash burger from Smasheville! Be sure to try all the beers, both seasonal and classic. Order a flight if you're indecisive or go all in on a full pour. My favorite is the Juice Force - tastes like Red, is what our favorite bartender told us back in '22. You won't be asked to tip when closing your tab but if you love your bartender, they do have a physical tip jar/bucket. We asked our favorite bartender if we could leave him a tip and he said "no need! We're paid a living wage here!" And I'm definitely super supportive of restaurants or bars willing to pay their employees a living wage! Dog friendly inside and out! As long as your dog is friendly and leashed, enjoy the AC, or enjoy the sun on a beautiful day on the covered or uncovered patios. Free EV charging! Although I haven't wanted to advertise it to ensure I get a spot whenever I visit... last time I was here was before Helene and they were renovating the big green yard so not sure if there has been any change to the parking since then. AMAZING brewery that the kids brought us to and we have a seat overlooking the French broad river. I'm not that into beer unless it's a gluten-free so I'm drinking Savignon Blanc instead. They are very dog friendly and they give out treats to all dogs! The guitar player is really great, he's playing Tom Petty and he has a velvety voice. It's a great vibe here and they have clothing and merchandise to support the wonderful facility! read more

New Belgium Asheville is an absolute must visit for any beer enthusiast. It is quite the space - a large lawn in front with plenty of space for the kids to run around, a nice view of the river off the side, and a really nice space inside. Being someone who isn't the biggest fan of kids in the brewery, it was nice that the kids had a place outside to run around while I could drink in (relative) silence inside. As for the beers, yes they have all the New Belgium favorites you know and love from the store, but with plenty of beers that you'll only find on the tap list. Even though the brewery is called New Belgium, they aren't really known in the beer aisles for Belgian styles. Here is where all those Belgian styles are, and they are fantastic. My only regret was that I didn't have enough time to spend there because there were too many other places to visit in a short amount of time. Local beer snobs will probably tell you to avoid New Belgium because it's "too corporate", but don't listen to that nonsense. New Belgium's tap room was one of the most impressive I've ever visited - great quality beers in an incredible space. read more

Looking to get our weekend away in this beer Mecca started off right, we picked up two tickets to the 45 minute free brewery tour at New Belgium. They offer several other tour options, the others are a bit longer though, and have a small cost to take. We didn't think we had the attention for anything much longer and opted for a short and simple tour to get the fun started Our tour guide Emma was friendly, and quick to answer all the questions people had for her. The tour was informative telling us about the history and extensive clean up of the land before building the brewery, as well as their brewing process, and offered samples of their flagship Fat Tire beer. Overall it was a good, informative, though simplified tour. The guide was friendly, the beer was tasty and we had a good time. Such an awesome campus. This was the last stop on a kayak tour and we didn't know what to expect. It's HUGE! And super family and pet friendly! There were so many puppers to love on and they had playgrounds/things for kiddos to do which was awesome. The patio area to sit outside is HUGE, plenty of seating for everyone. Certain areas were right over the river for a good view. Their indoor seating was also plentiful and awesome. They truly have a huge, interesting beer menu. I had to do a flight because the amount of sours I wanted to try was insane. I don't think I had a bad beer here. They also have alcoholic electrolytes which was amazing. The food trucks were perfect, we got a fancy grilled cheese which was awesome. Definitely perfect for us to chill, drink great beer, and have a meal. We had an amazing experience. Great place it was so relaxing to just hang out there with a 10% alcohol beer. I loved the honey orange tripel so much so I bought a 6-pack. The outdoor space was great when we were visiting there was a farmer's market and I got to check out all the produce and even the pizza from the pizza truck was great! Our friends recommended this brewery's 90 minute tour, and we were so glad they did. We checked in for our tour at the bar in the main building at the parking lot. We had 10 minutes before the tour, so we sampled a couple of beers, looked at the merchandise for sale (hats, tees, socks, etc.), and used the clean bathrooms that had cup holders in each stall. We met outside with another couple for our tour with Lydia, who was an exceptional guide. We were on the 2PM tour on July 9, 2024. We started at the entrance to the brewery, walking over the creek that was lush with greenery. Lydia told us about the environmentally minded founders who bought the brown site in 2012. After renovating and building on it, New Belgium opened in 2016. First stop was the brew house, with 5 vessels for brewing beer. We each sampled one of the Voodoo Ranger IPAs. We had four different ones: Fat Tire (Tom liked this one), 1985 Mango (Husband liked this one), Domingo Paloma (really good!), and 1554, a black lager (Tom's wife enjoyed this). We looked into each Tun, and saw details about what was going on in each by looking up at the HMI video panel. The next stop was a hallway with a cow shaped board full of detritus from the grounds when it was dug up and built upon: keys, tools, nuts, bolts and more. Letters on the wall were pictures from the past use of the area: circus folk, cars and trucks, farm animals and more. To get downstairs, we could take the stairs or slide down the slide. Guess what we 4 did?? And we loved it!! Bicycles were on display everywhere - at the entrance, in the brew house, above our heads. After one year at the brewery, an employee receives the newest edition mountain bicycle. We walked past a wooden heart (employees place a trinket on it after working here) to a replica bar from Brugs, Brussels, where the idea of New Belgium blossomed. We were invited to sample one of 3 New Belgium sours: Tart Lychee, Trippell, and La Folie. Our favorite was Tart Lychee. We walked the hallway - peeked inside the cooler full of New Belgium beers & walked past a room where several employees were testing and creating beers. Our last stop was a room overlooking the conveyer belts and the employees packaging bottles (not operational on 7/9) and cans (fully operational). This was our last chance to sample Voodoo Ranger IPAs: Mango, Imperial, Juice Force, and Tropic Force. Juice Force was my favorite! Lydia posed for me with a Voodoo Ranger Bobblehead. She was an exuberant, knowledgeable, and well spoken guide! Lydia took us outside, and we walked a path by the creek back to the entrance, and main building. The area is beautiful! We highly recommend coming here to just look around, have a beer, or take this informative & delicious tour! read more

The indoor area is not huge and while there is somewhat covered outdoors area, it may not be fully rain proof. Big green space for outdoor seating and large table seating. They had 4 different beer flights which were great at a fair price ($13). They also had seltzers and maybe wine? There were 3 food trucks on site which were all great. Tons of kids running everywhere but thats pretty much any brewery. read more

Been lucky enough to visit this brewery twice (live in Texas). New Belgium is my favorite brewery because they're a company who is environmentally conscious and cares for their employees. They offer complimentary tours of the brewing facility which I attended on my first visit. The tour was so informative and included free beer tastings! Unfortunately, on my second visit the tour I came to take had been cancelled. Wish there was a better way to communicate cancelations to customers. We stayed and enjoyed a few flights and tried their Dominga mimosa sour which was delicious! So bummed I can't buy it anywhere where I live. Fortunately, I can get their Voodoo IPAs locally. I highly recommend the Voodoo Ranger Juicy Haze. So GOOD. The tasting room is very large and dog friendly. There's indoor and outdoor seating. Highly recommend sitting outside and enjoying the view to the river below. Come check New Belgium out! read more

We went on a Thursday afternoon and it appeared everyone was enjoying themselves. We ordered the Classic Flight with 4 beers, $13. We sat outside at a high top looking toward the river. There is a large fire pit and a large grassy area. It is dog friendly. Staff was friendly and shared their insight on some of the beers. There was a small gift shop in the tasting room and a food truck in the parking lot. There are beers that you can buy to-go. read more

If you are in Asheville, you have to stop by New Belgium Brewery!! I love that New Belgium, with their bike logo and Fat Tire beer, is located above a biking/walking trail. The city of Asheville just opened the River Arts District trail, so on the way back from your hiking or biking adventure, stop by and grab a beer. They have inside and outside seating, and their patio overlooks the river. The day we went, it was in October, and the bright yellow leaves on the trees made the view even better. While I was there, I tried the holiday ale. It was really good, and it got me thinking about one of my favorite times of year Christmas They don't serve food, but they do have food trucks. read more

Fun place to spend a Saturday! A huge front lawn where people were hanging out talking, kids playing, people laying out on the grass, etc. It's right along a river which makes for a nice view on the other side of the brewery, as well. Stay was very cool and they have no problem with samples if you're not sure what you want. My husband and I both loved Juice Force! Great tasting beer. The Honey Orange Tripel was pretty heavy on the honey in my opinion. I tried their Fruit Smash Hard Seltzer- Berry Blast and thought the taste was a little weak, a little watered down. Lastly, I got a Tart Lychee. It had a strong cinnamon tasted but I really enjoyed it. They do have a small food menu but we ordered from the food trucks on the lawn. The grilled cheese one was awesome! Both parking lots were full on a Saturday afternoon but we found street parking not too far away. read more

We went there while visiting Asheville. Very cool brewery with an amazing outdoor area where you can enjoy your beer. We went for a free tour that took about 30+ minutes including beer sampling. The staff is truly amazing and they have its a lot of cool details about this company. The bar area is also super cool with many beers on a tap. You can buy some merch too. New Belgium was one of the breweries that was a gateway for Steve and myself with getting introduced to the world of craft beers. The Sunshine Wheat was a favorite of ours and of course the Fat Tire Ale. Not only were we well acquainted with these beers but we also were well acquainted with the original Fort Collins location since we used to live in Fort Collins for about six years. So exploring the Asheville location was a visit into an old familiarity we had as one of our Colorado chapters in our lives. It was also a little odd being practically on the other side of the country and seeing a brewery we saw often and drank often from during an earlier time in of our lives. For this we decided to revisit the past with the beer we decided to drink which was the good, ol Fat Tire. Alas we would have gotten the Sunshine Wheat but alas that's a discontinued beer. It may go without saying but the Fat Tire Golden Ale you kind find flavors of hoppiness, a well balanced sweetness and maltiness. It's also a very pleasant light beer to enjoy and was fun to revisit the beer and facility. Even though New Belgium was one of the breweries that served an introduction to the craft beer world for us we have moved on and can generally be most in beer bliss with nano breweries but it's inevitable as we do craft beer exploration some breweries will be larger companies and in this case a pleasant revisit to our craft beer drinking past. read more
