Great store and Great staff! Our family loves to visit this store and the staff remember us! I will say they usually have everything I am looking for, but I could see how there selection is limited. I usually don't come here for large projects, just items I need for small projects around our house or yard. We did buy a fantastic 6 foot Noble Fir tree here last Christmas and everyone was shocked that we got it at Ace! I was looking for a black heated goodie and it said to call for stock and it gave me several location Burien Ace Hardware was one. I called and they were very rude about telling me if they had it or not. They didn't even take the time to look for it with the item number i was proving and they were just rude about it. My mum bought a gallon of paint for a job that required less than a quart. She gave the kid the square footage and he told her to get a gallon. She also had the paint from the last time we painted and the match he made was way off. Also I would warn anyone who wants a decent paint to stay away from ROYAL paint as the can we got was probably the worst paint I have ever used in my life.. Even my 80 year old mother commented on how poor the paint was. When I told the store manager about our problem with the matching and the poor quality paint he said no refunds but said he could rematch the color and replace it with another gallon of ROYAL paint which I will never use again in my life. I said thanks but no thanks. Also they charge top dollar for this paint and it is way way over priced for the quality of the paint. Next time my mum will go to Lowes Home Depot or frankly any hardware store that sells decent paint and has someone that has a clue about how to mix paint. read more

So let me tell you about being a girl, sometimes service providers try to totally take advantage because they know you are not knowledgable or they dont bother with you becuase its a small job. The sprinkler next to my front steps popped off and water was going everywhere when the sprinklers came on. I called 3 different repair companies. One never responded, one responded they were too busy for small jobs, the other took my name and addy and never bothered to show up. Enter the nicest Ace hardware crew ever. So I had to figure out how to cap the line, and add a new section of tubing, as well as installing to seperate drip lines off the thing... the Ace guys were amazingly patient and informative. I had to run home and hack off a piece of hose to make sure it was the right size, but they hooked me up with all the supplies (hoses, a hose cutter, caps, a kit with the puncture tool and all the pieces to install the drips, and a connector piece thingy, to link the old hose to the new piece). He explained how to lubricate the hose with vegatable oil to get the connector and end caps to slide together since brut force isnt really my thing (even though I kick ass in most things). Any hooooo.... the gents at Ace rocked. I fixed my sprinkler all by myself because they took the time to listen, explain, and get me exactly what I needed. Great store! They have helpful staff and a great variety of items for a small store. They have items that the bigs stores don't have. It is the place to get your keys made! They have keys that most stores don't have. read more

SKG Have had the habit of going to the big stores so have to keep reminding myself to come to Burien Ace. I am a MacGyver and can fix most anything without a spec sheet. This may be a small store but their nuts/bolts/fastener aisle is the best. Washers to pins to corks etc. And my last Christmas Tree was a 7' Noble Fir for $29.95 and lasted until early January without dryness. Get the Rewards card and keep going back. read more

had a terrible experience yesterday and was shocked!! have had reasonable service in the past, I purchased almost $100 in garden...took time to get any help and that was not very helpful.....".well I guess these are the ones on sale....don't know we get a shipment in tomorrow but never know what might be on it," that was the first guy. went to check out to ask about baskets "don't know they are out front you'll have to look.' left my two full carts w/friend brought in baskets he was waiting on someone so went to next counter to check out.....he couldn't find the correct skew 4th guy walked up with skew and gave him the info...which I had indicated I had but was told no he will get it for me. when done not one of the 5 'gentlemen??" even offered to help take the two carts and two heavy hanging baskets out for us. they just stood around even after I asked them to watch one of them because we couldn't carry them. after we got things into the car (remember it was 85') we are both over 65...I went back to get the baskets and of the "customer service reps???" said " Oh did you need some help taking those out ?" I tried to hold my temper......but said " don't you think it's a little late to offer now?" He laughed!!!! that is when I told him I will no longer be shopping at this store loud enough that all five reps could hear and a few customers.!!!! Cannot believe that is a customer service Ace would be proud of for Burien. read more
